A while later, Hugo looked somewhere with a dumbfounded expression. To be specific, he was looking at Aslan, who was walking around while humming.

“Huh? Why is he in such a good mood?”

It took a lot to put Aslan in good spirits. Moreover, he wasn’t the type of person to outwardly express his emotions.

This made Hugo nervous. Aslan was a person with a broken personality. Whenever he was happy, something big always happened.

This was why Hugo became leery as he looked at Aslan with suspicion.

Regardless of the attention, Aslan kept making rounds. While walking, he would suddenly stop and look at the sky with a grin. He would grin on seeing the flowers in the garden. Then he would grin as he looked at the wall.

Everyone else would think he had gone mad, but one person smirked as he looked at Aslan’s antics.

[Are you that happy?]

“!”

[I said are you happy?]

It was his son, Lee Gun.

Aslan was the only one who could talk to Lee Gun because of the Translation skill.

After telling Aslan the truth, Lee Gun continued to converse with him. It was mostly Lee Gun cussing Aslan out instead of a conversation.

It was a wonder how Lee Gun had held himself back from talking, but Aslan merely smirked. At the end of the day, he was in an excellent mood.

Aslan didn’t plan on meeting his wife, who was reborn. He didn't plan on stealing her away from her family. He was just happy that she was alive. Even if they would not be able to form a connection in this lifetime, Aslan planned on protecting her until she died.

Above all else, he had learned that his son didn’t resent him. It made him relieved and thankful. This was why he didn’t get angry at what Lee Gun said. Nevertheless, Lee Gun was still spewing hateful words.

“Gun, you shouldn’t speak like that to your father, right?”

With a sour expression, Lee Gun looked at Aslan. His eyes said, “What are you going to do about it?”

Aslan snickered. “I can guess why you didn’t tell others about your memories, but are you sure about this?”

[What?]

“Others finding out about it will be a problem, but you should be worried about the one near you. You’re dead if Hugo finds out about it.”

“…!”

Lee Gun started to sweat when he saw Aslan’s sly smile. He had a good idea why Aslan was bringing up Hugo’s name.

“As soon as you returned, you made a big accident in destroying Hugo’s house. You tormented him and broke his back by consuming all his resources. It was so bad that I saw him almost in tears. I forget. How much did Hugo say he had spent…”

“…”

Lee Gun started to sweat again.

“While you guys have been friends for dozens of years, there are things that a friend should and should not do. Right? What would happen if he finds out that you did all this despite having your memories?”

“…”

“Moreover, what would the girls who like you do if they found out?”

Lee Gun started to sweat harder.

Aslan let out a bright smile. “I do owe you a debt, so I won’t tell anyone.”

“!”

“You should be careful so that you aren’t found out. When they find out… You know what happens, right?”

Lee Gun continued to sweat.

Shiva was faced with the biggest concern of his life.

He didn’t have any money because he had come from the World of Emptiness. It had been a long time since he had met his wife, and he felt estranged from her. Then there was the issue of him having a hard time adjusting to human society.

The situation was so tough it brought him to tears! However, those problems paled against this one!

‘Damn it!!!’

His daughter…! His daughter, who was the apple of his eye, had somehow taken a liking to a snake!!!!

Damn it!

Shiva despaired as he clutched his hair.

It was unclear how long he had been roommates with Lee Gun in the World of Emptiness, but a particular incident had allowed him to find out that his daughter was alive. He had found out she had reached her womanhood.

Hailey was a forbidden child created between a monarch and a god. Monarchs and gods were forbidden from loving each other. Hailey was the proof of their love, and the forbidden child had brought her parents, who had broken the rule, a curse: destruction!

Among the pair of lovers, the curse had killed the weaker one. At the time, Shiva wasn’t the one destined to die; they were Flame and the baby.

Was it because the Monarch of Flame was weak? No. That wasn’t the case at all.

Flame was a first-generation monarch, who was capable of consuming gods. She was powerful enough to defeat Shiva, a Great Spirit.

However, the pendulum of power had shifted toward Shiva when Flame had Hailey in her womb and Wind started to meddle with her.

Therefore, Shiva had shifted the pendulum of fate back to him. He had made sure the curse of death headed toward him to save his precious daughter and wife, whom he loved very much.

He had made a secret deal with Aslan and saved the two of them without anyone knowing about it.

Anyway, he had gone through all of that to protect his precious daughter! Yet, Lee Gun, who had been his damn roommate and a rude little bastard…

Damn it.

He had already seen everything… Damn it!

To make matters worse, he did it while the father was watching… What the hell!!!

Damn it? That damn bastard crawled out of nowhere!

Lee Gun had seen the bare skin of his daughter?!! It was something he hadn’t even seen as her father?!!

Boom!!

Shiva’s anger continued to burn today, and he destroyed the nearby buildings.

At that moment…

Woosh!

Flames encircled the buildings destroyed by Shiva, who used his Divine status of Destruction, and restored them to normal.

Someone reprovingly looked at the enraged Shiva. It was the monarch of Flame.

“You’re making a mess of the household again.”

“Ugh!”

“It’s already history, yet you keep making up delusions in your head.”

“Ugh.”

“You keep doing nonsensical things that get in the way of your daughter’s future.”

“Ugh…!”

“Caram! It doesn’t matter what you do. You can’t stop Hailey from loving Gun.”

“Ahhhk!”

Shiva felt rage engulf him once again. His eyes flashed. Whose side was she on?

“Olga! Do you realize what he did to me in the World of Emptiness?”

“I don’t know, but you probably did something that deserved a beating from Gun.”

No! That bastard attacked others for no reason!

Shiva felt a bit aggrieved in front of his wife. In his case, he had been taken by madness, so he had tried to kill Lee Gun first! But that wasn’t what mattered!

“Why the hell did he have to be Aslan’s son? It’s pissing me off!”

Flame sighed. Shiva didn’t like Aslan and Lee Gun, but Flame did. The two of them had saved the mother and daughter. Aslan and Lee Gun were their benefactors.

This was especially true for Aslan. If it wasn’t for him, Flame wouldn’t have been able to have Hailey. Of course, everything went sideways when Time got involved.

As for Lee Gun, she didn’t even need to verbalize what he had done for them.

“I like the fact that I have a handsome son-in-law.”

“Hmmph. Son-in-law? I never expected Aslan to have fallen in love with a woman and have a child of his own. He used to say that love was a mental disease. He made fun of me, saying even the strongest fighting god lost and died to love. This is ridiculous.”

Shiva had basically died at the hands of Aslan, so he ground his teeth.

Flame did agree on this with Shiva. Aslan was a wicked man who would use love if it helped with his agenda.

“It really makes me curious. After you died, I went straight toward the future to have Hailey. I've always been in the future. I didn’t get to see how Aslan came to have his child.”

Did something cause a change?

She seemed intrigued. She wanted to know more about what had happened to Aslan when Shiva glared at her.

“Don’t try to change the subject! How can she marry such a rude bastard? Have you lost your mind?!”

“You say you hate him, yet you were the one who brought Hailey here…”

Flame watched her daughter and Lee Gun play in the distance and clicked her tongue.

Shiva lowered his head. “Hailey wanted to come here. I had no choice. That’s why we came here.”

Suddenly, Shiva saw the young Hailey brush baby Lee Gun’s cheek with her hand. He flinched and shook each time Hailey was kind to Lee Gun.

Whenever the two of them got a little closer, Shiva glared at them. When the two of them tried to sit in the same place, he would immediately run interference…

“Your efforts will be useless, muscle-bound Zodiac. Ke ke ke.”

“?!”

Aslan brushed past Shiva.

Shiva let out an inarticulate noise toward Aslan, who was heading toward the kids.

Aslan held the clothes of his eventual grandchildren. He shamelessly took out books forbidden for minors for the three-year-old Hailey and the one-year-old Lee Gun.

“Here, kids. We’ll learn something very important today. It’s important for both of you to learn this well.”

Lee Gun looked at his father as if he were a psycho. Hailey, who didn’t have her memory, stared at the books.

“Here. The first page is—”

Shiva didn’t want his daughter’s eyes to be sullied, so he rushed forward. “Hey, asshole! What the hell did you bring? Do you want to die!!”

Flame let out a sigh. The relationship between the two fathers was terrible. She wondered if their children will have any peace in the future.

‘Well, it’s understandable why they aren’t on good terms.’

* * *

A very long time ago, when rumors were going around that the Creator tribe had been exterminated by the hands of Eternal Change…

“What did you just say?”

“That is…”

“Are you ordering me to go catch a mere thief?”

Three Great Spirits still existed in Mahabharata at this time. These Great Spirits were known as the “King of the gods,” and Shiva was one of them.

Shiva was a noble among the gods. He was a fighting-type god who represented the Divine world. He was one of the greatest gods, whom the others looked up to.

Currently, Shiva’s golden eyes contained rage. He couldn’t believe such a contemptible request had been sent his way.

Written on a high-quality scroll, the commission contained detailed information about a god who had just celebrated reaching adulthood.

“Olympus is asking us to kill this thief?”

“Yes. His name is Aslan. He tried to steal the Divine status of a high-rank god in Olympus.”

Shiva scoffed when he saw the information. “His name isn’t even ranked among the Zodiacs. He’s a fledgling. Why would Olympus pay any attention to him?”

“That is…”

“What is it?”

“He already has a track record of stealing countless Divine statuses…”

“What?”

“He’s famous for being a thief who steals Divine statuses. Among the items he stole, there was a Divine status of a main god…”

“Hmmph. He stole the Divine status of a main god?”

Were all the other factions filled with idiotic gods? A fledgling who had just reached adulthood was able to steal a Divine status more valuable than treasure?

“So what? Which Divine status is the thief trying to steal? Why would they come to a fighting-type god belonging to the number one faction in Mahabharata? ”

“That is… It’s one of the Divine statuses of Olympus. It’s something we’ve previously stored as a spoil of war.”

“It belonged to Olympus?”

“Yes. It’s called Asclepius, the Divine status belonging to the god of life.”

“Ah. We brought it back after we crushed Olympus.”

It was a Divine status that Olympus was still making a fuss about. It was something they wanted back.

This Divine status belonged to the god of Life, which was notoriously hard to handle.

Shiva had no idea why the thief would want it, but it was quite a symbolic spoil of war. This is why it meant something to Mahabharata.

Anyway, Shiva checked the personal data of the thief once again. His eyes narrowed.

“Creator… He is a survivor of that unfortunate incident.”

The Creators were a famous tribe in the Divine world. They had few members, and almost the entire tribe had been slaughtered.

Their chief had been careless in keeping a leash around Eternal Change, who had reportedly gone berserk.

“In the end, the chief’s sin was transferred to the young son, who is the last…”

“Yes. That’s why that child was demoted to being a commoner. He was sent to the commoner district.”

“That child grew up to become a thief that terrorizes the Divine world?”

“Hmmph. He has very fine features as if he hasn’t worked a day in his life. The fighting-type gods underestimate him because of his looks… The goddesses feel sorry for him, so they protect him. He uses these developments to his advantage…”

Shiva glared at his subordinate. The subordinate lowered his head.

“Should we call the god of discipline to get rid of him?”

Shiva contemptuously laughed. “No, I’ll take care of him myself. I’ll give a punishment befitting a thief.”

At this time, Shiva was accepting a request from a blonde man sitting in the prison located in the commoner district. It was a prison so dirty that no one visited.

This blonde man was the first-generation monarch Eternal Change. Falsely accused of slaughtering the Creators, he had been imprisoned here. It was the past Hugo.

Eternal Change looked past the prison bars to see a man sleeping there. He was a god who had just reached adulthood, and he still had a boyish air around him.

When that male god was finally able to sleep peacefully…

“Kuh-huhk!!”

“!”

The eyes of Aslan, who had been peacefully sleeping, shot open. He didn’t merely open his eyes. He clutched his neck as if he were gasping. It looked like he was having a seizure.

Aslan got up.

Eternal Change let out a long sigh as he watched Aslan dry heave. He had thought he would be able to have a quiet day today…

“Aslan….”

“Damn it! That sucked!” Aslan cursed as he clutched his neck and took deep breaths.

Eternal Change clicked his tongue as if he found Aslan pathetic.

“You returned here again?”

“!”

“You lost to him again?”

“…!”

“Who was it? I think his name was Shiva, right? By the look of it, you once again had your head cut off.”

“…koo-oohk.”

Yes, for the past week, Aslan was sent back here in this state.

From the perspective of Eternal Change, it was baffling. Despite having a place to sleep, Aslan would sleep here and suddenly spring up.

- Damn it! I was killed again!

He would talk about how he had come from two months in the future.

Of course, Eternal Change was shocked by this. Every night, Aslan would claim to have returned from the future. The date from which he had returned kept getting shorter. It went from two months, one month, two weeks… three days, and one day. Sometimes, he came back from five months in the future.

The time varied so much that Eternal Change had a hard time believing in what Aslan had to say. However, Aslan was telling the truth.

“That damn noble was born with a golden spoon in his mouth.”

Who cares if he was one of the strongest gods?

“As expected of a fighting-type god, it’s hard to kill him. Bastard.”

Aslan was trying to steal the Divine status of Asclepius, and he was killed each time by Shiva. Whenever he lost, he used the Divine status of the Time god to return to the past.

Since he had the power to go back in time, he had tried to go back to the time before his family had died. Unfortunately, this Divine status and his ability merely allowed him to go back a year at the most.

Anyway, Aslan had returned to the present where he was the safest. He said, “Damn it! I have to change the future somehow…”

The thing driving him mad was that he had died a horrific death at the hands of Shiva. It didn’t matter which method he used. He tried changing his plan and timeline. He tried everything, yet he kept experiencing horrible deaths at the hands of Shiva.

He had even tried not to steal the Divine status, yet he was killed by Shiva again. It didn’t matter what he did. Aslan seemed destined to die here.

Of all the gods, he had crossed paths with a Great Spirit, one of the greatest gods. It was unclear as to whether his lifeline extended only this far.

Eternal Change offhandedly said, “Why don’t you just give up on the Divine status of Asclepius? Why are you so obsessed with that Divine status?”

“I need it if I want to get my revenge.”

“You’ll die, kid. Your opponent is extremely strong.”

Aslan’s eyes twinkled. “Maybe. Even the mightiest warrior is weak against a peerless beauty.”

“Huh?”

Aslan had come back from the future numerous times, so he knew something. Flame, Eternal Change’s older sister, would soon try to come to the Divine world to find her missing youngest brother.

Originally, Shiva was never supposed to meet Flame. Flame was never supposed to reach the Divine world. She was supposed to go back midway.

But what if he changed that?

“Hyung. Do you want to meet your older sister? It has been a while, right?”

“Huh?”

Aslan’s eyes twinkled. It was something he hadn’t known at the time.

<I want to live>

Due to this little hope and desire, he had made a small tweak to the future. However, that tweak had changed the futures of Shiva, Aslan, Eternal Change, and Flame.

Furthermore, it led to the birth of Time and caused one of the angels of Eden to be reincarnated as a human.

It caused enormous changes to their future.

The changed future also brought about Yeonwoo and Junwoo and led to the outcome of Hailey and Lee Gun being born.

NaughtyOtter's Thoughts

Hey guys. This is NaughtyOtter. Thank you for joining me on this journey. I hope you enjoyed the story.

These are some words written by the author at the end of the side stories.

I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for accompanying me until the epilogue.

The supplemental stories were planned to go over “Epilogue + Episodes about Parent’s Generation + Side Stories.”

They were supposed to be a total of 1~2 volumes, but the length was adjusted according to how the episodes were received.

The episodes about the Parent’s Generation were side stories that could garner less interest from the readers. This was why I believed it would be prudent to bring it all out in quantity towards the end.

The supplemental stories were supposed to revolve around Lee Gun. They were supposed to be funny stories about the confusion, destruction, and shock experienced by the people around him. However, I believe I strayed away from that direction, so I would like to apologize for the result.

Still, although the “Return of the Disaster Class Hero” has concluded for a while, you all waited for the epilogue to come out. You didn’t forget about it. I truly want to thank you for accompanying me until the end.

Each comment you guys left me supported me greatly.

The episodes about the Parent’s Generation are the aggregates of the events mentioned in the main story.

It was the love story between Hailey’s parents and Lee Gun’s parents. It had Eternal Change’s story, and it showed how Hailey and Lee Gun were born. It told how the Divine status of the Serpent Bearer temple was born. It went over why Hailey grew up as the daughter of Time, and it went over how she was able to meet Lee Gun as a cat.

It was about how people like Kevin were eaten by Eternal Change and became humans. It was about how they were chosen as Zodiac Saints…

This is the gist of those stories.

I do wonder if there will be those who would be interested in these side stories…

The number of stories that will be written will be a judgment call.

The ending has already happened with the completion of the main story. The epilogues will probably end with Gun finding his future prospects..

《The Return of the Disaster Class Hero》

Thank you for showing love for the webtoon too.

I am concurrently working on a new title, so I will be able to return when that work is settled up to a point.

When any concrete news about my future plans is determined, I will update you guys through social media (blog/twitter).

I will come back as soon as possible.

Thank you very much! :)
