Chapter 22: A Certain Play
Binaeril understood the deep bond between the two, which was rooted in a sense of debt, guilt, or responsibility.
Rike likely believed that Sylvia’s brother died because of her, and Sylvia, equally guilt-ridden, felt she must atone for her brother’s mistake by protecting Rike. It was a sad story, but there was nothing Binaeril could do for them. Such old feelings from the past were issues they needed to resolve themselves.
However, Binaeril knew a way to address the current situation.
“Sylvia, you said you owe a debt to Rike.”
“So, you’ll do anything to clear the misunderstandings she’s facing, right?”
“A misunderstanding? That’s different from what you said before. You said she got special treatment because she’s a princess.”
