Chapter 19 – Rule 11. The Leader Eliminates the Villain Group (2)
Anomia’s goal is revenge.
There may be other objectives, but ultimately, Ahn Woo-jin is clearly their target.
Thus, they must have kidnapped the secretary as bait.
Woo-jin recalled his game knowledge.
Anomia is a villain group with a lower risk level compared to the Six Sinners.
However, their scale is significant, and they possess some formidable forces.
The most dangerous individual to watch out for is the highest-ranking officer, AQ.
However, the likelihood of AQ being at Gray Star was close to zero.
This is because AQ, being a coward, always stayed close to the leader for protection.
Anomia’s leader would likely be far from the danger zone, observing the situation like a visitor at a zoo.
Thanks to this, Woo-jin could guess the leader’s location.
Gray Star was a building where the Anomia eradication operation took place during the first semester of the second year in the original game.
There, Anomia’s leader directed his subordinates and fought the protagonists as if playing chess.
Woo-jin remembered exactly where that happened.
Recalling the original story was easy for him.
Therefore, Woo-jin entrusted the highest-ranking officer AQ and Anomia’s leader to Ahsung High’s strongest, the Vice-Leader of the Disciplinary Committee, Oh Baek-seo.
As for the remaining Anomia forces, Woo-jin estimated that even without Oh Baek-seo, he could handle the forces gathered at Gray Star.
Eventually, the moment Woo-jin rescued the Disciplinary Committee Secretary Park Minhyuk, Anomia would be facing imminent defeat.
Each step splashed water from the rain-soaked ground. The dark clouds filling the night sky continued to pour down rain.
Woo-jin put a wireless earphone in his right ear and spoke calmly.
“We’ve reached the destination. From now on, we’ll begin the operation to rescue the
secretary and eliminate Anomia.”
– “Roger.”
– “Yes, sir!”
– “Understood.”
The responses from Vice-Leader Oh Baek-seo, Disorder Control Officer Ha Yesong, and treasurer Yoo Doha resonated in his ears.
Woo-jin arrived at the front entrance of the Gray Star building.
Whirr. Several combat turrets and a swarm of drones in the sky recognized Woo-jin.
An armed Anomia force also took up weapons, surrounded by magical energy, and warily eyed Woo-jin.
“He’s here. It’s the Disciplinary Committee Leader from Ahsung High.”
“Is that…?”
“Wait, he’s coming through the front entrance?”
“Is he trying to get himself killed? What a joke.”
“Something feels off…”
Among the forces at the front gate, the relatively stronger ones unconsciously swallowed their dry throats.
A mysterious sense of intimidation was emanating from Woo-jin.
Suddenly, their instincts screamed.
Despite being numerically superior and having combat robots, they felt they couldn’t win against the black-clad man advancing through the night.
Tzzzt.
In the darkness, Woo-jin’s teal eyes glowed and crackled with electricity. It was the activation of his magical power.
He drew out the two handles fixed to his belt. With a crosswise downward swing, iron rods emerged from each handle.
One was a black telescopic baton.
It was the equipment used to subdue the Anomia forces stationed in the train before.
Crackle! Teal patterns were etched on its surface following the magic circuit, and Woo-jin’s lightning magic surged.
The other was the Lightning Rod.
A powerful explosive-type magical weapon that discharged lightning energy.
It emitted a faint teal current, ready to unleash its stored magical power at any moment.
Finally, as Woo-jin stepped into the front entrance, all lights focused on him, as if indicating the target for concentrated attacks.
Standing still, Woo-jin glared icily at the enemies targeting him.
With the air taut and all of Anomia’s forces tensed, the platoon leader at the front gate shouted.
“Everyone, attack!!”
Using that command as a signal flare, the turrets and drones switched to combat mode, their eyes glowing red.
Zzzz! Combat robots condensed their magic, firing beams or launching small missiles. Woo-jin propelled himself off the ground, instantly accelerating to evade the barrage.
Boom! A meaningless explosion covered the ground with dust and debris.
The turrets and drones simultaneously tracked Woo-jin’s biological response, and Anomia’s armed forces charged towards Woo-jin, each having strengthened their bodies with magic.
Crackle!
An Anomia soldier of the 4th Tier attacked Woo-jin with an electric sword. Clang! Woo-jin blocked the sword strike with his telescopic baton.
Thud!
“Agh!”
Immediately, a teal trajectory cut through the night rain and struck the soldier’s hand. Crunch! His hand bone shattered, dropping the sword.
The telescopic baton drew a heavy arc in a follow-up swing.
Thud!!
The thrust released a shockwave of electricity, sending the enemy flying. His ribs shattered like powder in an instant.
Crackle! The shockwave-induced electricity flowed along the pouring rain in multiple streams.
The surrounding enemies, soaked by the rain, were electrocuted in clusters.
“Grrgh!”
“Argh!”
Swiftly moving, Woo-jin struck the paralyzed enemies with his baton.
Thud!
Thud!
Thud!
In an instant, ten enemies, including the 4th-Tier officer, fell.
Whenever Anomia’s forces dropped their weapons, Woo-jin deftly snatched them and threw them accurately at turrets or drones.
Thud! A spear pierced straight through the air and skewered a turret precisely.
Whirr! A spinning axe split another turret’s muzzle in half.
Each turret sparked and then extinguished their lights, bowing down.
Despite the drones’ concentrated fire, Woo-jin dodged calmly, moving gracefully as if reading the trajectory of each bullet.
Each swing of the baton released a shockwave.
With every swing, vivid sparks flew, and unending screams echoed as enemies collapsed one by one.
However, this battlefield was open, unlike the narrow train.
“Surround him!”
Gradually, Anomia’s forces encircled Woo-jin, continuing their attack.
If this continued, there would inevitably be a moment when Woo-jin would be caught off guard.
Defeating him would just be a matter of time.
…That was a misconception.
Flash!
“!?”
Woo-jin, utilizing his magically enhanced strength, stepped on an Anomia soldier’s head and launched himself into the air. His movements were as agile as a squirrel. He escaped the encirclement by jumping up walls and structures.
Soaring to a high vantage point in one leap, Woo-jin spun in midair, looking down at the clustered Anomia forces.
Crackle!!
Woo-jin’s other weapon, the Lightning Rod, unleashed a storm of electricity.
Teal bolts of lightning spread through the air like tree roots, slicing and swirling. Boom! In Woo-jin’s hand, the Lightning Rod maintained its robust form, shining with steadfast electric energy.
From a young age, Woo-jin had mastered a high concentration of magical power through his mana training method. This high-purity mana now flowed unchecked through the Lightning Rod’s magic circuit and was being released.
It was the moment when the Lightning Rod’s potential was fully unleashed.
“What the hell…?”
The Anomia forces watched in shock, unable to close their mouths.
They couldn’t even think of how to counter it.
How could they possibly stop that?
Soon, Woo-jin hurled the Lightning Rod at them.
The image of a lightning bolt cutting through the air was imprinted on everyone’s retinas in an instant.
A flash of light.
The Lightning Rod, shaped like a bolt of lightning, struck the ground.
Boom!!!
“Aaagh!!”
“Nooo!!”
The wave of lightning swept away the spring rain.
The condensed explosion of mana and bundles of lightning instantly engulfed, scorched, and shattered the enemies.
As the electricity subsided, the Anomia forces fell to the ground, steaming and powerless.
Though they didn’t lose their lives thanks to their magically enhanced bodies, the pain forced them to pass out. Woo-jin had adjusted his strength deliberately.
The drones met a similar fate.
They all sparked, lost functionality, and crashed to the ground.
Thud! Thud! The drones shattered into pieces upon impact.
Tzzzt, tzzzt. Woo-jin landed lightly on the ground, which was still coursing with teal currents.
He surveyed his surroundings.
The numerous enemies guarding the front gate were collapsed, occasionally twitching.
The front gate force had been annihilated.
Above them stood Woo-jin alone.
“…”
Woo-jin picked up the Lightning Rod, recharging it with his lightning mana, and calmly entered the Gray Star building.
