Chapter 56 – Rule 22. The Leader Stays Composed (4)
“Disciplinary Committee! You’ve all worked hard throughout the first semester, including the final exams!!”
“Woohoo!”
In the Disciplinary Committee executive office,
Underneath a frame engraved with ‘For the Revival of Humanity,’ Ha Yesong threw a stack of test papers in the air with joy.
Simultaneously, Secretary Park Minhyuk and Treasurer Yoo Doha also tossed their test papers upward.
I sat on the backrest of a sofa, watching them with Vice-Leader Oh Baek-seo. Baek-seo had her usual kind smile on her face beside me.
Shuffling.
Like fluttering petals, the test papers danced and fell to the floor.
The joyful moment was short-lived.
“Whoever has the lowest scores, pick them up.”
Rummaging around.
At my command, Yesong began collecting the fallen test papers without a word. Minhyuk laughed raucously, pointing at Yesong.
‘Finally, the first semester is over.’
So much happened.
‘It was tough, really.’
Final exams are over.
The summer vacation ceremony is tomorrow.
Today, which falls between the final exams and the summer vacation ceremony, ended early with all classes finishing up quickly.
Before I knew it, my first semester as the Disciplinary Committee Leader had ended.
‘Woo-jin, you did well…!’
I comforted myself as I looked out the window.
Puffy clouds drifted leisurely across the blue sky, carried by the wind.
‘But… it’s quiet. Nothing major has happened.’
The feared incidents after awakening my unique ability didn’t occur.
Instead, the subtle tension between Geumyang and Baek-seo was more concerning whenever they met.
Even though information about my unique ability was controlled,
there must be those who gathered information about the anomalies that occurred when I awakened.
‘No strong ones have appeared since Goliath.’
It was unexpected.
After the bomber incident, even the principal remained silent.
‘It’s rather unsettling….’
This tranquility didn’t feel right.
Usually, it’s calmest just before a storm.
‘I wonder if things will go well with Hanyang.’
Meanwhile, Hanyang Federal Academy continued its investigation regarding the responsibility for the practical evaluation incident.
The Ahsung High School Student Council was handling the matter.
According to Yoon Tae-ho, the Student Council Treasurer, I might be held responsible. However, the Student Council President was fiercely opposing this.
The current Ahsung High School Student Council President is not someone of noble character but rather an ordinary person who pursues practicality. It’s all based on self-interest.
“Are we having a staff dinner today?”
“Yoo Doha, don’t bail out again.”
“Hmph. I have a sense of duty, Leader. Isn’t it natural to spend the end of the semester together?”
Sense of duty… That would be the farthest emotion from Doha.
“Surprising? Doha-ssi participating in all executive events? I thought you’d skip again to prove something.”
“Right. Surprising.”
As Yesong looked up at Doha in admiration while picking up the test papers, Minhyuk agreed.
Doha squinted.
“What did you think of me until now…?”
“A cold, antisocial Treasurer.”
“A reclusive loner.”
Doha laughed, saying “Ha, ridiculous” at Yesong and Minhyuk’s blunt replies.
“More importantly!”
After organizing the picked-up test papers,
Yesong slammed a calendar on the table with vigor.
“This time, let’s properly plan a summer retreat!”
Summer retreat.
An activity for the Disciplinary Committee’s unity, where everyone goes for a 1-night, 2-day trip during the summer vacation.
Due to the large number of Disciplinary Committee members, the retreats are handled by each squad, while the executives have a free retreat among themselves.
“Based on our brief discussion last time, the date seems settled. Now that it’s vacation, let’s forget about exam scores and decide where to go!”
“You’re the only one who wants to forget the scores.”
“Leader, you’re being harsh. Do you want me to feel depressed?”
The total exam score is determined by combining midterms, assignments, and final exams.
As a result, Oh Baek-seo and I shared the top spot in the second-year rankings.
Park Minhyuk and Yoo Doha also achieved decent scores.
The one who recorded the lowest score among us, failing to maintain the regret from the midterms, was none other than Ha Yesong.
She said she couldn’t study well because she ate too much and failed to manage her blood sugar.
“Anyway, let’s discuss it.”
We shared and scouted the ‘places worth visiting’ we had researched in advance.
“Right. Leader, didn’t you mention an artificial beach last time?”
“I didn’t say I wanted to go.”
“Summer means the sea! It’s a life etiquette to shout ‘It’s the sea!’ once during summer!”
An artificial beach is a place designed to resemble the sea from the old days. There are several such places, and they are popular vacation spots in summer.
I didn’t particularly have a desire to go.
“Artificial beach is fine, but as I said before, I prefer a camp.”
Although I hadn’t gone on trips after being reborn, I had roamed around various places in games.
While the artificial beach felt disheartening compared to the sea in my previous life, the camp was fine, so if I were to have fun, I’d rather go camping.
‘The problem would be the bugs.’
When going on a summer camp, one inevitably faces enemies.
Ferocious creatures with blood-sucking tendencies, mosquitoes.
And various mountain bugs that evoke disgust.
While these were not an issue in games, they were not to be ignored in reality.
‘Insect repellent should suffice.’
Tools to defend the camp from insects, such as proper insect repellents, should make for a pleasant camping experience.
It’s not that I had a great desire for camping. If the other executives wanted to go to the beach, I was willing to vote for that as well.
“I will follow wherever you decide, Leader. Even to the depths of hell…!”
“Hell is fine…. Don’t do that in the first place. It’s burdensome.”
Minhyuk, full of resolve.
He seemed determined to go wherever I wanted.
“Hehe, Leader?”
Yesong slyly approached me and whispered.
“If we go to the beach, we might get to see Baek-seo-ssi in a bikini?”
“!”
