After the succubus became a fake young master that everyone disliked - Chapter 18

Tang Shen paused slightly, staring at Chi Jing performing on the DJ stage.

“What’s his name?”

Chen Guangji replied, “Chi Jing. He seems to be from the Wen family in Haishi.”

“Got it.” Upon hearing that Chi Jing had parents, he lowered his gaze, concealing his disappointment.

Chen Guangji had initially planned to mention the recent story about the Wen family and the two alleged heirs, but noticing Tang Shen’s despondency, he hesitated to disturb him further.

At 8 PM, Chi Jing had finished his performance and was resting at the bar.

Many people came to him, trying to exchange contact information. Among them were various young men from wealthy families abroad, flaunting their golden hair and glasses, eager to invite him for an enjoyable night.

He drank several glasses, his dark eyes reflecting a hint of hazy allure.

Feeling the subtle stares around him, he leaned on his side, smiling seductively while he politely declined every offer.

After rejecting everyone, he finally had a quiet moment.

The bartender didn’t bring him more alcohol this time but handed him a glass of honey lemon water.

“You’ve had a bit too much to drink.”

He just smiled and stayed silent. His awareness was still clear, though his beautiful eyes were glazed with the effects of the alcohol.

The owner was busy attending to other customers, so Chi Jing sipped on his non-alcoholic honey lemon water when a business card appeared in his view.

The card was presented by a young man dressed in simple yet stylish attire, with a sexy stubble on his chin.

There was no scent of alcohol or cigarettes; only a faint hint of cologne wafted towards Chi Jing.

“Hello, you’re the beautiful and mysterious red rose from China, right?” The man greeted in fluent Mandarin with a warm attitude, “I’d love to collaborate with you sometime. I really like you.”

He looked at the business card, which read:

“ALC Chief Designer, Kingsley.”

“Hello.” Chi Jing moved his lips, responding with a polite greeting.

He took the card, holding it between his fingers, which made his long, white, and delicate fingers even more noticeable.

Kingsley praised him extensively, and he accepted the compliments with amusement. Eventually, Kingsley asked, “Can I post tonight’s video on public platforms? You look so beautiful that everyone should see this red rose.”

“Of course.” Chi Jing raised his eyebrow with a flirtatious smile, giving his affirmative answer.

Kingsley was genuinely interested in collaboration. Chi Jing, disinterested in discussing it further, quickly provided Mu Jingshan’s contact details.

After Kingsley left, he finished his honey lemon water and checked his phone.

It was 9 PM.

Shen Yixing had left a message saying they were heading back and that if he wanted to return, he should call so the driver could come pick him up.

The message was sent two hours ago, so the others were likely back at the guesthouse by now.

Chi Jing, feeling a bit tired, brushed his sweat-soaked hair from his forehead. His exquisite features were on full display as he bid farewell to the owner.

“Boss, I’ll be leaving soon.”

The owner, aware of the show Chi Jing was filming, had allowed the recording equipment to be set up in the bar.

“Alright.” The owner boldly blew him a kiss, “Hope to see you again. My business has been good tonight.”

After confirming with the owner, he sent a message to Shen Yixing that he would be leaving shortly.

A driver arrived to pick him up ten minutes later.

The temporary driver, Jiang Yucheng, entered the bar skillfully, putting an arm around Chi Jing’s shoulders and leaning into him.

“DJ Chi, did you have a good time tonight?”

Chi Jing was surprised to see him as the driver. If it were any other guest, they might have been surprised, but his expression remained unchanged as he glanced at him.

“Don’t you have anything else to do? Where’s the driver?”

“The driver had some matters to attend to. I have an international driver’s license.” Jiang Yucheng tossed his credentials into the air and caught them smoothly. “Shall we go?”

“Let’s go.”

As Chi Jing left, he encountered the owner again.

“Oh dear, is this your boyfriend?” The owner mistakenly thought he and Jiang Yucheng were a couple. She smiled, surprised, and offered her best wishes. “Wishing you happiness. By the way, I have a gift for you.”

She handed him a pink gift box. “Alright, I’m busy now. See you next time.”

Chi Jing, slightly tipsy, didn’t react to the owner’s mistake about his relationship with Jiang Yucheng and only realized it when he was in the car.

When seated in the car, he frowned, “Did she think we were in a relationship?”

Jiang Yucheng, driving, turned the steering wheel. The streetlights on his left illuminated part of his face.

“Perhaps.” he responded.

Chi Jing couldn’t argue back and leaned unhappily against the car door.

In the back seat, a camera operator quietly recorded the conversation.

Back at the guesthouse, everyone had already returned to their rooms. The living room was filled only with scattered filming equipment and lights.

Chi Jing walked around the equipment and entered the bathroom with his demon horns still on.

After showering, he sat cross-legged on his bed.

In front of him, in the center of the bed, was the pink gift box from the bar owner.

Unable to discern what was inside from the outside packaging, he decided to open it.

Jiang Yucheng entered from the balcony, thoughtfully bringing a small pair of scissors for him.

Opening the pink box, he found matching cat ear and tail props.

A magnetic, light laugh burst from Jiang Yucheng’s side.

He sat beside him, his warm breath brushing his ear.

“The craftsmanship is quite good,” he said, fiddling with the pink cat ears. “Try them on?”

With that, he placed the pink cat ears on Chi Jing’s head and ruffled his hair.

The light-colored, furry cat ears concealed the black demon horns. Jiang Yucheng was momentarily stunned, his gaze moving from Chi Jing’s face to the top of his head.

Chi Jing took out his phone and took a picture of himself.

“I suggest you go to the bathroom now,” he said, checking the photo to ensure his demon horns were fully hidden, not looking up as he reminded Jiang Yucheng to attend to his needs.

Jiang Yucheng clicked his tongue, picking up his clothes from the bed to cover his lower half before leaving the room.

The morning sun had just risen from behind the tall buildings, casting warm sunlight over the street.

Chi Jing was woken by Mu Jingshan’s incessant phone calls.

Groggily reaching under his pillow, he answered the call by instinct.

“Hello.”

Mu Jingshan: “Chi Jing! Wake up, wake up! I have good news!”

Chi Jing, eyes still closed, mumbled, “What good news…”

Mu Jingshan: “You’re trending! The video of you is all over the internet! Your Weibo followers have increased by tens of thousands.”

Mu Jingshan was so excited he nearly climbed onto a stool. After he finished speaking, he only heard Chi Jing’s steady breathing.

“Stop sleeping! Get up!!!”

Still no response.

He turned on his home stereo, and the elegant aria “Spring Ballet” blared, waking Chi Jing.

“Are you insane?” Chi Jing couldn’t help but curse.

“Get up! Dress nicely and post on Weibo. Also, have you thought about Director Xu’s offer?”

Mu Jingshan’s nagging came through the line, and Chi Jing, struggling to resist the urge to hang up, responded coldly, “If you’re so free, you might as well help me contact someone.”

“Who?” Mu Jingshan asked, puzzled.

“Sun Yue from the Pu Jing Law Firm.”

Mu Jingshan: “A lawyer? What do you need a lawyer for?”

“To handle some matters with Wen Zhentian.” he rubbed his forehead with one hand. “Also, apply for a contract termination with Longhuang Entertainment.”

Mu Jingshan: ???

Chi Jing sneered, “You probably haven’t seen my contract. A backup copy is in the living room cabinet of the apartment, with the password being the date of my graduation ceremony. You can check it out.”

“Goodbye.”

After hanging up, he fully woke up, changed clothes, and went downstairs.

Gan Heyu and Jiang Yucheng were not in the living room. Shen Yixing and An Boqing were in the guesthouse’s courtyard, seemingly negotiating with the driver.

“Awake?” Lou Yiwen, elegantly seated with crossed legs, leaned against the dining chair. “Your video has gone viral online. The new ALC chief designer posted your bar video. It received over ten million likes in one night.”

There was no coffee on the breakfast table, just a cup of milk.

He was indifferent; he could drink either coffee or milk.

Of course, his favorite was still soda.

Ou’er Bai looked curious. “Do you know him?”

Chi Jing: “Who?”

Ou’er Bai: “Kingsley, the ALC chief designer. He’s considered a genius in fashion design.”

“Don’t know him. He was just another customer at the bar last night,” Chi Jing said, stretching and revealing his enticingly slim waist.

She envied his figure. “How do you maintain such a good figure?

Can you introduce me to your fitness coach?”

Chi Jing: “It’s natural. I don’t exercise.”

She envied him even more. “Is that true? You don’t exercise or control your diet?”

“If I exercised and controlled my diet, my figure might be like Jiang Yucheng’s.”

Lou Yiwen looked at the camera and leaned closer to him, whispering, “Have you seen Jiang Yucheng’s figure? How is it?”

Putting aside his biases against him, he gave an honest answer, “Pretty good.”

“Oh, Jiang Yucheng seems to exercise every day. He apparently goes running every morning,” Ou’er Bai said.

Lou Yiwen: “The video on the internet is promoting you. You should take a look. It’s a good time to post on Weibo. Even if your manager doesn’t handle it, you’re gaining followers now, so posting could help retain them.”

Ou’er Bai asked, “Do you need me to do your makeup?”

Chi Jing replied, “No need.”

He still had his hat on, making it inconvenient for her to do his makeup for photos.

However, Lou Yiwen’s suggestion was useful. This was part of being a celebrity, and he needed the work to earn money.

He considered for a few seconds and decided to post the photos he took last night.

Perhaps by chance, Jiang Yucheng, who had just finished running and was urged by his manager Xu Meng, opened Weibo and saw his post.

He recognized immediately that this was a photo Chi Jing had taken in bed last night. The cat ears on his head were put on by him himself.

His photo was carefully taken, with the demon horns completely hidden from view, without showing any part of them.

As he looked at the photo, his eyes darkened, as if stained by spilled ink. Despite just having finished running, his breathing became noticeably quicker upon seeing the photo.

He stood by the roadside, looking at his phone, before finally liking and following the post on Weibo.

The heat was building up again, and his manager’s call came through.

“Jiang Yucheng, I’m going to kill you!”

“I asked you to repost the sponsor’s gg! Not to use your main account to like someone else’s post!”

He blinked.

“Hmm, couldn’t resist.”
