I Have Returned, but I Cannot Lay down My Gun
Chapter 75 Table of contents

[Daily Life] Today, I went out after a long time and met a friend!

Hello, everyone! It’s Harmony!

Today was seriously one of the most humid and hottest days ever ㅠㅠ I couldn’t tell if I was breathing or if I was stuck in a steam sauna… Noryangdan (the fans), be careful with all this rain and don’t get hurt!

Anyway, today I went to a buffet~! The food was so delicious!

I bet I’m going to get comments like “You’re a glutton,” “You eat too much,” or “Fat kitty,” but I couldn’t help it ㅠㅠ The friend I met today is someone who eats a lot, so what could I do!

They seriously ate so much at the buffet, regardless of the section, that I unintentionally watched a mukbang… and maybe because of that, I ended up eating more than usual, and now my stomach is stuffed ㅎㅎ No workout for me today~

I know you’re supposed to take a walk after eating to help with digestion, but the weather was too gloomy to walk, so instead, we went to an animal café! I got to play with an adorable raccoon~

They had cats, dogs, fennec foxes, and even snakes! The snakes were surprisingly pretty and smooth ㅎㅎ Maybe I’m getting used to Yujin’s avatar.

I took a ton of pictures, but it’s too much to post them all at once, so I’ll do a separate post later…!!

And the last place we went to was a shooting range! I’ve never been to one before, but since I’ve been so into Dark Zone lately, I thought I’d give it a try.

There were way more guns than I expected, but today I shot the HK416, MCX, a few submachine guns, and various handguns… But wow, they’re really heavy.

I wonder if there are any soldiers currently watching the stream. You guys must work so hard carrying these heavy weapons day and night to protect our country… Much respect to you! (ノ)`ω´(ヾ)

Honestly, my shoulder still feels sore, like I might have bruised it ㅠㅠ But thanks to all the rolling around with Yujin-sensei in Dark Zone, I managed to hold my own ㅎㅎ The range officer even complimented me!

Oh, and I also tried shooting a revolver called the M500? It was so powerful that my wrist still feels numb… ㅠㅠ If I hadn’t gained some weight at the buffet, I might have flown backward.

Anyway! I’m about to head home now^^ Oh my, it’s already past 5 PM! I’ve already announced that the stream might be a bit late, so don’t wait too eagerly—let’s meet at 8 PM, nice and clean ㅎㅎ

See you later~!!

"Hah, finally finished uploading… Ugh, just thinking about starting the stream when I get home makes me feel so overwhelmed…."

"If you’re tired, why don’t you take the day off?"

"Come on, how could I skip streaming on a Friday? Even if I stream until dawn, people will still follow along since they have tomorrow off. They’ll probably be exhausted, though."

"Why don’t you use that method?"

"That method?"

Yes, that method.

The method where, if the viewers start getting restless, you go, “I’m going full my way,” and start playing a trash game.

Harmony thought about it for a moment, then clapped her hands as if she understood what I was suggesting. But instead of opening her mouth as expected, she hesitated and quietly added,

"Well, I’ve used that method a bit too much…."

"Seems like it’s lost its effectiveness."

"I overused it…."

Well.

That’s why you shouldn’t overuse powerful tactics. Even I have used that trick a few times, and people have already gotten so used to it that now some viewers intentionally find the weirdest games for me to play.

It’s not a big deal if I escape to Dark Zone, but still, things rarely go as planned.

As mentioned in Harmony’s post, it was now past five o’clock. Even though it was still midsummer, so the sun wouldn’t set quickly, the dark clouds looming overhead meant that it was getting dark surprisingly fast.

Plus, the weather forecast said that heavy rain would start pouring down again at 7 PM. But as with all weather predictions, it wasn’t something to take at face value.

In other words, there was a good chance the rain could start earlier than expected.

"Let’s head home. By the way, Yujin, I still haven’t asked where you live. If I had a car, I’d offer you a ride."

"It’s fine. And even if you did, we’d probably get stuck in Seoul’s rush hour traffic, especially with the rain."

"True… especially with the rain. Anyway, I’ll just take the subway since Hoehyeon Station is nearby, so I don’t have to worry about the traffic."

"I’ll join you."

"Hehe, at least we’ll be on the same path for a bit. It’ll be less lonely."

We walked along the damp, unyielding asphalt.

The surroundings were filled with the rugged low-rise buildings typical of Seoul’s old downtown, but the high-rise buildings visible beyond the alleyways still gave off that unmistakable Seoul vibe.

As we emerged from the stifling alley, Namsan Tower came into view in the distance.

The area was full of buildings that seemed to span different eras. There was a red brick building that looked like it was built decades ago, a slightly older high-rise, and right next to it, a new, clean, white building.

Next to it was a luxury department store, and right in front of the main road leading there was Hoehyeon Station’s Exit 6, in a rather unexpected location.

As we descended underground, the air became a bit more pleasant.

As we approached the turnstiles, Harmony suddenly spoke up, as if she had remembered something.

"This kind of place reminds me of where we first fought other players. Remember?"

"Yeah, I do. How long has it been…? It’ll be a month soon. Time flies, doesn’t it?"

"Wow, already… It all happened so quickly that I still feel a bit dazed. We met under those circumstances, and now I can even treat you to a meal…."

Now that she mentioned it… time really does fly.

After passing through the automatic turnstile, she asked again at the fork in the path.

"Which way are you going?"

"I’m transferring to Line 3 at Chungmuro Station and heading straight up."

"Wow, really? We’re on the same route! But I’ll get off soon after I get on Line 3… if you’re headed toward Ilsan, I’ll get off first."

But before we could continue the conversation, the subway arrived.

Since it was getting close to rush hour, the crowd had started to grow quickly. At least it was still manageable.

To be specific, it wasn’t quite at the point where you’d have to dream of sitting down, but it wasn’t so packed that people were crammed together. However, since I had a tail, things could get tricky.

Harmony seemed aware of this, and she assured me not to worry, saying she’d protect my tail if things got tight. It was a bit awkward, though, with her playing with my tail while making such a bold statement.

There were already plenty of people watching; this wasn’t the time for that.

"Is that the end?"

"Hmm…."

"Do you like my tail?"

"It’s just so fascinating…."

Unbelievable.

Anyway, we took our positions. Since we only had two stops before transferring, we didn’t stick together for long before we had to get off. The sticky weather made it hard to escape the discomfort, even in the subway.

It didn’t bother me much, but Harmony…

Still, before we knew it, we were on the platform of Line 3, heading through Seoul and toward Ilsan.

Since it was close to rush hour, the next train arrived quickly, and fortunately, we found a slightly more comfortable environment to enjoy on our way home.

As the number of stations left to our destination dwindled, the conversation turned back to where we each lived.

"I only have three stops left before I get off. Judging by your silence, Yujin, you must have a bit further to go…."

"Where… yeah, I do."

Then she said,

"I’ve got five more stops."

"…What!?"

"Do you live near Dongnimmun Station?"

For some reason, Harmony’s pupils seemed to quake at those words.

At first, I didn’t understand why, but soon, the reason became clear.

"Oh no, living this close is bad! You’ll nag me constantly…."

"…What makes you think I’ll do that?"

"You just told me to lose weight a little while ago, remember…?"

Ah.

Ah-ha.

Finally, I could laugh.

Time really flies, and before I knew it, Harmony was about to reach her stop. As the screen doors and train doors opened and closed simultaneously, we said our goodbyes.

But it wasn’t the kind of goodbye we imagined.

With a slight smile, I opened my mouth to bid her farewell.

"We live close, so let’s meet up again soon."

As the doors slid shut, our first meeting came to an end.

Later, Harmony would describe that smile—not as a normal one, but as the kind of charismatic grin a villain might give the hero in a thriller movie, promising a reunion.

Actually, I’m kidding ㅋㅋ But seriously, if I don’t post something like this, Harmony won’t notice me!!!

Anyway, I’m curious about the buffet she went to today. I was going to ask in a donation, but I got impatient ㅎㅎ I think it’d be a great date spot if you leave out the shooting range, so I’m asking.
