I Became A Flashing Genius At The Magic Academy
Chapter 16.1 Table of contents

As soon as I sensed that something akin to offensive magic was rushing towards me, I activated Flash and teleported to the top of a tree.

Tung! Something similar to a Light Bullet flew past me, teasing my hair strands, and disappeared after crashing into a nearby tree.

I looked at Edna who was lying on the floor, drenched in cold sweat.

“Do you have any reason to kill me?”

Mana Accumulation Retardation’s level had recently increased, and it could now detect mana fluctuations from eighteen metres away, so I wiped away the cold sweat, thinking that I almost got into trouble.

While mages enchanted their bodies with thin layers of defensive magic, I did not have any of that.

‘Besides, the Light Bullet is scary.’

Wasn’t it too much for someone at a student level? In magic society, a 17-year-old magician was called a ‘genius’ even if he used only Class 2 magic skill.

But, in Stella, it was nothing out of the ordinary. First-year students were already using Class 2 magic skill freely, and students who excelled, such as Edna, were dealing with Class 3 magic skills.

It was best not to deal with light-attribute magic, which was quick and promised a scary offensive power. It was good at healing too.

'But now I have two Flash left, so if I can use the terrain well, I’ll be able to deal with her to some extent…'

[Flash]

[Class: 1]

[Maximum Range: 12m]

[Maximum number of charges: 2]

[Cooldown: 3 seconds]

As a result of the early morning training, the number of Flash increased to two. Now, it was possible to move freely.

‘Still, it’s hard to fight with her.’

It was crazy to deal with the main character, so I left quickly.

My goal was to be in the top 5. No, I was aiming for exactly the 5th place.

As I recall, the prize for fifth place was ‘Edelic Root'. When consumed, it increased stamina and muscle strength by a certain level, and although it was not that good, it was added as a product to replenish energy when young students studied.

Jeremy was first, followed by Haewon-ryang at second place, and Hong Bi-Yeon in third. Mayuseong was in fourth place, but there was a part where Edna would take it away from him.

Anyway, the scores from the fourth place were so overwhelming that I did not care. The cut-off for fifth place was approximately 70 points. I only need three more Point Sticks.

However, no matter how much I tried, I could not seem to recall where the Point Stick was. I simply need to believe in the quick manoeuvrability of Flash and keep searching.

“Oh, is it another dead end?”

I took the wrong way. It was so confusing because the terrain kept changing in the first place.

I had no choice but to turn around and try to get out of the other way.

The grass in the front parted, and about five boys appeared.

“Oh, who is this?"

“Isn’t he Baek Yu-Seol from Class S?”

When I checked the name tag, it was a boy named Raiden. Those guys were pretty well known in school these days. He belonged to the Yuslek faction, whom I had previously identified as ‘Jeremy's lackey.’

So, they were the faction members of a faction created by a faction member of another faction. Next to him stood boys whom I believed to be in the Yuslek faction, and I was honestly impressed.

Because Raiden was holding three Point Sticks in his left hand.

‘They’ve collected a lot.’

The Raiden gang came close and condescended.

“Are you Baek Yu-Seol? The one who can’t use magic at all and got into Class S?”

“I can’t believe you got three weird questions right and entered Class S. Stella’s been admitting anyone lately, too.”

“I heard you resonated with an upper-intermediate grade wand this time. Why don’t you show it to me? For a mage that can’t even use magic, it won’t be of much use.”

It was not funny at all but they giggled among themselves; they were your typical group of high school bullies.

‘It feels different to witness something like this after a long time.’

When I was in school, there were a lot of kids like that.

“Why don’t you speak? All right, give me your Point Stick.”

“I don’t want to.”

Raiden laughed in vain when I secretly hid my Point Stick behind me.

“Why are you so confident, ha? You’re not wearing a defensive suit, are you?”

A defensive suit was a suit given when training in a subspace. It had its own protective shield to ensure safety, and if it took damage above a certain level, the owner would be kicked out of the arena.

In other words, you’re out.

“But, it only prevents ‘death,’ it does not alleviate pain. I mean, get a taste of the real thing. Hehe, you’ll probably be in enough pain that you will wish to die.”

“Hmm…”

I made an estimate for a while.

The first-class Flash should be effective against a group of low-ranking students, but there was a good chance it would not work against a talented mage from a prestigious family like Raiden. I was not sure if it would have been possible if there had been at least three Flash.

There were, however, variables.

It was the Point Stick in his hand and the point that this place was a dungeon.

“Come on.”

“That’s how it should be.”

When I secretly held out the Point Stick again, Raiden approached with an arrogant expression. He took it as a sign of surrender.

And, at that moment.

[Flash]

My silhouette disappeared like a mist. In those 0.1 seconds, only the sound of the fluttering robes could be heard.
