In fact, Rosalyn wasn’t the only one who didn’t believe that Lindsey had healed Mikhail.

Many people hadn’t witnessed the scene themselves, so they thought Crain must have exaggerated the rumors for some hidden agenda.

“Mikhail is on the battlefield right now. They’ll return soon, so you shouldn’t waste too much of your strength.”

“…”

“It’s commendable that you’ve awakened divine power, but you need to know how to control it, Lindsey.”

Lindsey found it amusing that Rosalyn was lecturing her about controlling her power, considering she was an S-class guide.

“I understand you want to stand out. But… I’m saying this because I’m worried about you. Don’t you agree, Kenyan?”

Kenyan looked at Lindsey with an unreadable expression, not answering Rosalyn’s question.

Raysis had asked Kenyan to delay Lindsey’s deployment until Rosalyn arrived.

Raysis believed that Rosalyn, with her experience, would guide Lindsey well.

“Rosalyn is the only one in our family who takes care of Lindsey.”

‘Raysis really knows nothing.’

Kenyan shook his head, annoyed.

Rosalyn’s face cracked at Kenyan’s denial. Her easily visible emotions made Kenyan smirk, though an inexplicable irritation crept in as well.

He glanced at Raysis, who was standing protectively next to Lindsey.

‘Does Raysis really not notice anything?’

Rosalyn seemed to dislike Lindsey Kesion more than others realized. Her subtle ways of dismissing Lindsey were unpleasant even for an observer.

‘Did Lindsey do all this just to attract attention?’

Lindsey was someone who disliked drawing attention. Kenyan recalled Lindsey at the Radian estate, always moving to corners to avoid people’s gazes.

Lindsey lived in a subdued manner, trying to stay out of Sylvia’s sight as much as possible. She was used to hiding herself, not showing off.

Rosalyn looked at Lindsey provocatively and said, “Of course, I’ll be the one to heal Mikhail, so you won’t need to use too much of your divine power.”

“Rosalyn? You’re saying you’ll heal Mikhail?”

“Yes, I think I’m ready now.”

Rosalyn blushed and cupped her face.

There was a reason Sylvia had always healed Mikhail despite Rosalyn being present. Rosalyn’s divine power hadn’t been enough to heal Mikhail.

But now, Rosalyn claimed she was ready.

“I’m the only one in the Kesion family who can heal Mikhail.”

Rosalyn clutched her skirt with a determined expression, though worry was evident on her face.

She cautiously asked Lindsey, “Lindsey, you’re not upset, are you?”

“What?”

“You must have thought healing Mikhail was your job…”

“…”

“But it can’t be helped. We can’t just let anyone handle healing Mikhail.”

How audacious. Lindsey thought, rubbing her forehead in annoyance.

“You know how difficult it is to deal with high-level monsters. He might enter a berserk state again.”

Of course, it was unlikely he would get that badly injured in most missions.

Rosalyn’s words considered that possibility.

‘This mission isn’t that difficult. He won’t go berserk.’

Therefore, she could handle it. No matter how exaggerated the rumors, she didn’t like the idea of Lindsey getting credit for healing Mikhail.

Rosalyn’s sharp gaze focused on Lindsey.

‘I’ve endured for years…’

Mikhail Dweisi should have been hers. She had willingly let Sylvia heal him so she could one day claim Mikhail herself.

But then Lindsey appeared. The wretched Lindsey, who she hadn’t expected to awaken divine power.

Rosalyn couldn’t let Lindsey take her place.

“For your sake, I’ll step in.”

Lindsey nodded nonchalantly. She had no intention of refusing Rosalyn’s offer to take on a troublesome task.

‘Fine, do as you please.’

Healing Mikhail was a bothersome job for her. Lindsey knew Rosalyn had liked Mikhail for a long time. She didn’t want to get entangled with the difficult Rosalyn.

“If that’s what you want, go ahead. I won’t stop you.”

Please, take over.

Though she doubted Rosalyn could manage it.

Lindsey didn’t add that part. She looked at Rosalyn with a tired expression. Rosalyn’s face cracked at Lindsey’s reaction.

“Lindsey…”

“I’m busy right now, you know?”

“What?”

“Then go ahead and heal Mikhail or whatever. Do as you please.”

Rosalyn’s gaze shifted to Kenyan. She clung to his sleeve, silently pleading for his support.

Lindsey found Rosalyn’s behavior tiresome. It was always the same, acting with the confidence that others would take her side.

“Lindsey! Are you so bothered by having a conversation? People are genuinely worried about you, and yet you…”

Rosalyn’s face turned red, unable to hide her rare display of anger. Just then, a hint of fear appeared on her furious face.

Her gaze slowly shifted.

Mikhail and the other transcendents, exuding a dangerous aura, had appeared.

“Aaah!”

“Damn it, what’s going on?”

“Get out of the way. We need a priest!”

Mikhail’s condition looked precarious. He was breathing heavily.

Kenyan quickly assessed the situation.

Mikhail Dweisi was on the verge of losing control.

‘There are few who could push that man to this state.’

Only elder-level black mages from the Black Tower would be capable of confronting Mikhail.

Kenyan approached the transcendents supporting Mikhail.

“What happened?”

“Mikhail was protecting us from the black mages…”

“…”

“Mikhail defeated them but has entered a berserk state.”

Kenyan frowned at the transcendent’s explanation. As expected, it was the work of the black mages. They, who sided with the evil god and controlled monsters, were the greatest enemies of the transcendents.

Kenyan and the transcendents began to control the situation.

A transcendent returning from the battlefield in a berserk state was common. But it was different if that transcendent was Mikhail.

Kenyan monitored the situation closely.

‘He didn’t return with his sanity intact. Damn, came to hunt monsters and found a more monstrous guy instead.’

To heal Mikhail, they needed to restrain him with a mana control stone. But now, Mikhail was on the brink of losing control.

He was almost completely irrational.

There was no transcendent here capable of subduing Mikhail in such a state.

Kenyan turned to Rosalyn. Others’ gazes also shifted to her. Rosalyn had boldly claimed she could heal Mikhail.

But any priest would recognize it immediately.

Rosalyn, though a priest herself, realized that Mikhail’s condition was beyond her control.

Her abilities were insufficient.

Therefore, it was clear that no one here could heal Mikhail.

Rosalyn felt fear as she looked at Mikhail. She stepped back.

“I… I can’t…”

The more people stared, the more suffocated Rosalyn felt.

Her gaze fixed on Mikhail. Healing a transcendent like Mikhail was a great honor for a priest.

Being the only one able to heal such a powerful transcendent was a unique privilege that no priest would deny.

Rosalyn had also wanted to experience that special moment.

She had believed in her abilities.

But now, facing Mikhail, she realized how exceptional he was. She wanted to take back her bold claims from a few minutes ago.

She managed to stammer out, “I can’t… How can I heal someone affected by a black mage? Who knows what curses he might have?”

Rosalyn stepped back.

She closed her eyes tightly and began to flee. People stared at her retreating figure in disbelief.

Kenyan, watching her leave, turned to Lindsey.

Lindsey stepped forward, not waiting for anyone’s approval.

“Step aside.”

Lindsey’s voice was calm but firm. Kenyan watched her with a mix of curiosity and skepticism.

Mikhail was thrashing, the black magic still clinging to him like a vice.

Lindsey approached Mikhail without hesitation. The transcendents around him moved aside, unsure but hopeful.

She placed her hand on Mikhail’s forehead, feeling the turmoil inside him.

“Hold on,” she whispered, her voice barely audible.

A soft, golden light emanated from Lindsey’s hand, enveloping Mikhail. The violent aura around him began to subside. The room fell silent as everyone watched in awe.

Slowly, Mikhail’s breathing steadied. The berserk energy dissipated, and he fell into a deep, peaceful sleep.

Kenyan couldn’t believe his eyes. Lindsey had done it. She had healed Mikhail.

Rosalyn, who had paused at the doorway, watched in shock. Her face twisted in a mixture of disbelief and jealousy.

Lindsey stood up, wiping the sweat from her brow. She turned to Kenyan, her expression unreadable.

“Next time, don’t underestimate me,” she said softly, walking past him.
