This wasn’t the time to be surprised! I’d accidentally guessed the spirit’s true nature. Even if it wasn’t intentional, it was rude, so I had to apologize! …It was rude, right? I apologized because it just felt… wrong. I mean, if you met someone for the first time, guessed the name of their dog, and then suddenly started interacting with the dog excitedly, wouldn’t the owner think you were strange? Though I’ve never owned a dog, so I wasn’t sure!

Gil-san translated. But I could kinda understand from Carter-san’s gestures, waving his hands back and forth, and those short phrases. I had to be careful in the future. I wasn’t sure if I’d meet any other races that used nature magic, but I’d learned my lesson.

Th-This spirit is so energetic. I mean, it’s good that it’s lively, but the gap between it and Carter-san!
I figured it would be a quiet spirit, like its master, because Nephry-chan and Shou-chan resembled their masters. Stereotypes are bad!
“Ah, um! This is Shou-chan, the Voice Spirit! Nice to meetchu, Carter-shan’s Fiwe Spirit-shan!”
I introduced Shou-chan so it wouldn’t be alone. Carter-san nodded repeatedly, “Kaku, kaku,” and then mumbled something. I couldn’t hear his voice because of the surrounding noise, but he must have called out to the Voice Spirit. Shou-chan flickered for a moment and then started chattering away at Carter-san.
『You can call me Jiggle! And I’ll introduce you to my precious protege!』
“Eh, weally?”
『Of course! You’re famous among spirits, you know! And I’m a powerful one! I want you to have a good companion! Hyuu!』
Oh, it seemed like I might be able to form a contract with a Fire Spirit after all! Thank you! And maybe I’d be able to communicate with Carter-san through spirits. I’d probably rely on him for tools and such in the future, so it would be nice to be able to thank him, even if I couldn’t see him directly! And of course, being able to use fire nature magic would be amazing!

He was urging me so much that I ended up guessing his true nature and giving him a name all at once. I wondered if it was okay to do that, but he seemed fine with it. So, this one was also impatient, just like Jiggle-kun.

Homura-kun flickered red and then transformed into a small monkey, saying this cheerfully. I’d named him whatever came to mind, but I’m glad he liked it! It wasn’t a lazy name at all!
That bright red, tiny monkey form was so adorable. All my spirits are cute! I thought, and then Homura-kun climbed onto my head. As expected of a monkey!
“…You formed a contract with a Fire Spirit?”
