───Vrooooom!

The steel steed roared.

Instead of blood and muscle, it had oil and pistons, and instead of a pounding heart, it had an engine. Instead of hooves pounding the ground, its four wheels growled as they tore across the terrain. The car accelerated as the wheels, gripping the asphalt, began to spin faster and faster, and soon the vehicle set the well-maintained park as its next stage.

This was not a flat, paved path, but a rough dirt road. The moist soil crumbled under the wheels, and even the suspension couldn't handle the violent shaking that tossed the four passengers in the UTV.

"Ahhhhhh!"

"Hey, seatbelts! Where are the seatbelts?"

"Hey! Harmony! We're going to fly out! We're going to die like this!"

Vroom!

With one push on the accelerator, Harmony’s gaze aimed farther—at a building in the middle of a large lake. It looked like an art museum at first glance, accessible by four bridges that surrounded it. It was positioned in the center of the map, which meant it was a highly strategic location.

Much like point B from the Domination mode they had played yesterday.

After a few simple maneuvers, the vehicle barely escaped the dirt road and entered the park’s white stone path. However, the mud stuck to the wheels and the crushed grass left streaks on the ground like skid marks.

Meanwhile, Limit, having barely recovered from the jarring ride, checked the holographic map.

The 64 players who had initially moved as one had already begun scattering in all directions. About half had captured the starting point, A, which was closest to HQ, but the other half had spread out to B, C, and D, where the fiercest fighting was expected to occur in the center of the map.

In the midst of this, Limit checked his squad on the map. Marked in green for easy identification, he observed their position.

"Harmony, are we seriously heading for D?"

"Yeah? You just realized?"

This wasn’t going to be easy.

The moment he heard those words, everyone braced themselves. Without even receiving any orders from their squad leader, it was already a given that they would charge recklessly towards D. As the museum grew closer, Limit, who was staring at the map, spoke again.

"We have three more squads trailing behind us. Two tanks as well. But the attack helicopter and transport aircraft are headed in the other direction."

"If we’re at a disadvantage, we’ll retreat. Heading for the bridge now."

Screech, followed by screams.

With some yelling in the background, the buggy sharply turned onto a bridge several dozen meters long. From the other side, obscured by a hill, dust was rising, and the sound of metal grinding and rolling indicated that combat was imminent.

The chat was already going wild. People said it was thrilling, or something like that. They had planned to start things off normally, but Harmony’s reckless charge towards D had already provided some unexpected fun. So, it couldn’t really be called a bad thing.

Of course, the real trouble was yet to come.

───Thooom!

"...Uh, hey? Why is it suddenly getting dark?"

The deafening roar of engines.

The flow of air itself changed.

By the time Kimstone, who was holding the grenade launcher, opened his mouth with a dumbfounded look, a tilt-rotor aircraft was already hovering above them. People were dropping from it—one, two, three... eventually, it became pointless to keep counting.

Two entire squads were landing simultaneously.

The fact that more than half of them were equipped with rocket launchers wasn’t a good sign.

The buggy had almost crossed the bridge, but conversely, that meant the two enemy squads had already turned their heads toward the source of the noise. Sensing something was wrong, Harmony—benefiting from quick reflexes—swerved the vehicle at an angle worthy of an action movie.

Limit’s command came next.

"Return fire, return fire───!"

Rat-a-tat-tat and boom.

Within seconds, bullets and rockets were flying in all directions. A few rockets narrowly missed the vehicle, whistling past and hitting the stone ground nearby with massive explosions. Kimstone, snapping out of his daze, fired his grenade launcher haphazardly in the direction of the enemy.

The buggy miraculously dodged three rockets, but the aftershocks couldn’t be entirely ignored. The vehicle shook violently. It was a miracle they didn’t lose control and spin out of control.

However, just as the transport helicopter circling overhead spotted Harmony’s squad as the first to reach D, it turned sharply. The front-mounted minigun began to move. Harmony floored the accelerator, asking Limit for directions to the large building’s entrance.

Vroooom!

"Hehe, let’s go! Everyone, hold onto your seatbelts tight!"

"Ahhhh, who let Harmony drive?!"

Ratatatatatatat!

With a horrifying sound, bullets rained down, just missing the spot where the armored buggy had been moments before. The small margin of error due to the fact that this wasn’t being controlled like a video game—with a keyboard and mouse—was what saved them. The vehicle was already several meters ahead.

The four panicked passengers screamed at each other.

"Where’s the entrance?!"

"The other side! We can’t go that way, the enemy's already landed!"

"Hug the building tight───!"

With a roar, the engine under the vehicle shook violently, and the wheels spun even harder.

The transport helicopter, acting like it was an attack chopper, started circling around the large building. Strange shadows from the spinning rotors were cast on the ground, showing that the pilot had not given up on them yet.

Unfortunately for Harmony’s squad, the pilot seemed fairly skilled. Just as they were nearing the entrance, the minigun’s angle locked onto their vehicle—and suddenly, grenades and hundreds of bullets crossed paths.

Thunk, thunk, thunk, thunk!

"Whoa, firing a grenade launcher in front of a minigun is terrifying—Ahhh, bullets incoming! Save me!"

"Whoa, just a second’s exposure and I’m shredded!"

Hundreds of rounds whizzed by, barely missing Kimstone, who quickly ducked his head as his health bar dropped to critical levels. Medic Hotteok immediately jabbed a syringe into his arm to recover his health.

But they were still in a dangerous position. They were only five seconds away from reaching the entrance, and the minigun mounted under the transport helicopter was locked onto them. The barrels, which had briefly stopped, began spinning again, preparing for another volley.

But unlike those expecting a respawn after an inevitable explosion, Limit smiled and added calmly.

"Who uses a transport helicopter like an attack chopper?"

"What?"

"Incoming."

Boom!!!

In that moment, an explosion erupted from the side of the transport helicopter.

A TOW missile—slower than a regular one but with devastating power—slammed into the side of the Osprey, causing it to lurch. The misaligned minigun sprayed bullets harmlessly into the air as a friendly attack helicopter swooped in, raining down 30mm rounds, missiles, and flares.

As the shredded transport helicopter struggled to gain altitude, a communication came through.

-[Friendly Comms: Hey there, streamers. If you rush ahead like that, it’s hard to support you. But hey, do you think this’ll make it into your highlight reel?]

"...Not just the highlights; we’ll definitely make it into the final cut."

-[Friendly Comms: Haha! Thanks a lot───!]

Vrooooom!

With that final transmission, the attack helicopter flew off to another battlefield. As the friendly forces exchanged compliments, a new threat emerged—the transport helicopter, having lost all power, began plummeting towards them.

Flames erupted from every part of the vehicle, including the cockpit. The massive wreck, several dozen meters long, was gliding down toward them like a flaming meteor. Harmony floored the accelerator and fixed her eyes on the glass doors of the entrance.

"Hold on tight───!"

Crash! Shatter!

At over 70 km/h, the buggy smashed through the glass doors, followed by the deafening boom of the crashed transport helicopter that pursued them.

As the enormous fireball from the explosion faded, the buggy, which had crashed into a wall and was almost upside down, finally touched down with a creaking sound. The suspension was wrecked, and the vehicle itself was so damaged that it barely resembled a buggy anymore. Fortunately, the airbags were the only things that cushioned the passengers.

With a loud thud, the door to the crushed vehicle opened, and the surprisingly unharmed squad members crawled out, groaning in pain—except for Harmony, who was perfectly fine.

She grabbed her weapon and said:

"Alright, we’ve crashed. Time to disembark."

At that moment, everyone thought the same thing:

She’s completely lost it.

"...Is this Yujin’s fault, too?"

"No, I’m not sure about that one."

After all, they say students resemble their teachers.

"Oh, I’m dead."

As usual, getting hit by the messed-up circadian rhythm was not a pleasant experience. When someone sleeps during the hours they should be awake, their mind becomes foggy, and their health deteriorates. Add late-night snacking to the mix, and if you’re in an environment perfect for sleeping, it gets even worse.

The time was 2:57 PM. Sleep time was roughly 8:00 AM. Driven by the insane idea of finishing today's work today, Luddites had spent around seven hours editing, from midnight to 7:00 AM. Since some of that time was spent in virtual reality, the actual time felt more like ten hours. It was madness.

But at least there was some satisfaction—the fruits of grinding three editors to the bone. Most of the videos were about 80% complete. At this rate, even with a leisurely pace, the work would be finished by the end of the day.

That was the only comfort.

The room was dark.

Designed entirely for the purpose of "sleeping," the room allowed neither sunlight nor noise to intrude, creating the perfect environment for endless slumber. And this worked, keeping him asleep despite the sun creeping in at around 8:00 AM. While his mind wasn’t in the best state, at least he hadn’t woken up halfway through.

He turned on the lights, switched off the air conditioner, and opened the windows and doors for ventilation. The desk was cluttered with a few energy drinks and snack wrappers. He tossed the trash into the three bins under the desk—cans in one, general waste in another, and plastics in the last.

He drew back the blinds and looked outside. It was clearly a hot day, with sunlight pouring down from the sky like a waterfall. Against that backdrop, he pulled a cool bottle of water from the fridge and took a sip, finally starting to feel a bit more awake.

Next, he checked his email and the group chat with the editors. It was chaos. There wasn’t much need to summarize it—just messages like, "Are you asleep? Are you all sleeping? You can’t be sleeping, right?" sent at 3:00 AM, 4:00 AM, and 6:00 AM. The conversation went on through the early morning hours.

It was a clear reflection of the hard work of the editors, whose schedules ran counter to those of regular people.

"I’m dizzy..."

Luddite mumbled, collapsing onto the couch. But today, unlike usual, there was an unusual message floating before his eyes.

-[Notification: Harmony has started streaming.]

He shouldn’t click on it.

He shouldn’t open Pandora’s box, but for some reason, his hand moved on its own. The choker around his neck, still there from earlier, worked flawlessly to transfer his consciousness to Harmony’s chatroom.

And there, he saw it.

- Hehe, let’s go! Everyone, hold onto your seatbelts tight!

- Ahhh, who thought it was a good idea to let Harmony drive?!

This wasn’t even a "once again" moment—this was something on a whole new level of insanity. It was, simply put, a legendary clip.

Watching his employer recreate a highlight reel from an action movie in real-time, Luddite felt his mind start to drift.

"Haha, hahaha, hahahaha..."

Shit.

Luddite collapsed on the couch, passing out.
