Hello, this is Chicken Boy.
Finally, I Became the Student Council President of Academy City has reached its conclusion.
When I wrote "The End" this time, I felt that the emotions were even more vivid compared to my previous work.
This story holds a lot of meaning for me.
I’m glad I managed to wrap up all the foreshadowing as planned and successfully showed everything I intended.
I thought a lot about what to write for this final note.
I considered sharing the struggles I faced while writing this novel, but then I thought, it’s not the right place to bring that up in a final post, so I’ll skip it.
However, I do believe that everything I experienced has contributed to my growth.
Now, moving on to things related to the novel’s content.
As those who read my previous work may have noticed, Oh Baek-seo is modeled after one of the heroines from my previous novel.
She was my favorite character, so I brought her back, and I feel satisfied with how her character turned out in this story.
The biggest reason I wrote this novel was Goliath.
Goliath's character is based on a head of a family from one of the stories I drafted after completing my previous work but never finished.
The head of the family was the strongest man alive, with a fierce fighting spirit, and Goliath shares that exact character.
I really like characters like this.
For reference, Goliath’s inspiration came from the Transparent Dragon.
There were also some last-minute settings added.
For example, the master-disciple relationship was added because I felt there needed to be a reason why the protagonist was so good at fighting. It wouldn’t make sense for him not to have sought out a master.
There were also elements that I decided to cut out.
Originally, 1215’s fate was to die while saving a child they had just met in a dangerous situation.
The child: “Do you know me...?” 1215: (shakes their head with a smile) (collapses) (dies)
That was the kind of sentiment I was going for.
It was supposed to show the irony of the villain who wanted to create a happy world by trampling on the sacrifices of children.
But in the end, I felt that adding a redemption arc for the final villain felt out of place, so I decided to remove it.
And the last-minute master character was originally going to be a heroine.
However, there wasn’t enough room in the remaining story to incorporate that, so I made him a male character and left it out.
There probably won’t be any side stories for this work.
Next, I plan to finish the side stories of my previous work, which I haven’t yet completed.
That also shouldn’t take too long to wrap up.
While writing this novel, I’ve come to realize what kind of genre I want to pursue.
I plan to focus on that genre from now on, and since it’s quite different from academy-type stories, I might even change my pen name.
Finally, I want to thank all of you who read my novel. It’s because of you that I’m able to continue as a writer.
I hope that someday, with improved skills and more exciting stories, I can bring a small bit of joy into your everyday lives.
And, of course, make a living from it too, haha...
It’s been a delightful journey.
Thank you.
