Lucy was in a bad mood, for many reasons.
She had noticed since their arrival at the Holy Church that Lin’s attention was completely elsewhere, but she had followed quietly regardless. Even after the confrontation with the Pope had ended, Lin was still busy handling the aftermath, with barely any time to rest.
Why was he bothering to take care of those ungrateful people?
Yet, Lucy couldn’t complain.
It was Lin, after all. She was frustrated by their attitude of expecting to be taken care of, but she couldn’t deny that Lin’s kindness toward them had also saved her. So, she kept quiet and didn’t let it show.
Even though she always fell asleep to the sound of his heartbeat, Lucy had to admit that she had been feeling lonely lately.
Just like today.
