(Morning)
The door of dormitory 404 was knocked, followed by a voice asking, “Is Qin Luo in this dorm?”
The four sleeping inside were rudely awakened and all showed annoyed expressions.
Han Yiqun, the one with the most explosive temper, cursed immediately, “Who the hell is it? Why the noise so early in the morning?”
The knocking stopped, and the person outside weakly asked again, “Um… is Qin Luo in this dorm?”
The three roommates all looked at Qin Luo, but he showed no intention of moving. Last night, they went out drinking and didn’t return until midnight. Luckily, they had a good relationship with the dorm supervisor; otherwise, they would have had to sleep on the streets.
Recalling last night, Qin Luo could only remember his three roommates forcefully pouring drinks down his throat. In the end, the four of them drank three bottles of baijiu and then cleared a case of beer. It was wild.
Now, Qin Luo’s head was buzzing, and he ignored the visitor, lying on the bed like a corpse. The others didn’t push him. Wang Chen threw on some clothes and got out of bed, opening the door to find an unfamiliar guy standing there. He frowned and asked, “What do you want?”
“I’m looking for Qin Luo,” the guy said weakly. “Ji Yan is downstairs. She asked me to call him.”
At these words, the room’s atmosphere froze. The roommates exchanged shocked glances, finding it hard to believe.
Ji Yan was known as the school beauty not just because of her stunning looks but also due to her aloof personality. This cold demeanor was actually a plus. People often desired what they couldn’t easily get, and the more unattainable something was, the more it lingered in their minds. Thus, Ji Yan, like an untouchable flower, became the school beauty, overshadowing her three equally beautiful roommates.
The fact that someone as aloof as Ji Yan had come to the boys’ dormitory yesterday was already shocking. But everyone thought it was her responding to Qin Luo’s persistent feelings. That matter should have ended yesterday. Why was she here again? Was she unwilling to end things and wanted to take the initiative to approach Qin Luo, just like he had persistently approached her?
The three roommates exchanged looks, momentarily speechless.
“I’ve delivered the message. I’m leaving now,” the messenger said as he walked away, glancing at Qin Luo with undisguised envy and jealousy.
Once he left, the dorm fell silent again.
Li Xuan spoke in a complicated tone, “The school beauty actually came again… Tsk tsk, her aloof image is collapsing.”
Han Yiqun nodded, “Maybe she has something to say to Qin Luo.”
He glanced at Qin Luo, wanting to say something but holding back.
Finally, Wang Chen suggested, “Brother Luo, why don’t you go down and see her?”
Han Yiqun and Li Xuan agreed. After all, she was a girl, and it wouldn’t be nice to leave her waiting at the boys’ dormitory entrance.
“No,” came Qin Luo’s muffled response from the bed.
The three sighed and didn’t push further, returning to their beds to catch up on sleep. They all had headaches from last night’s drinking.
Qin Luo was no different. He desperately wanted to fall back asleep. Despite a night’s rest, the alcohol still made his head throb, and his eyelids felt as heavy as if they were glued shut.
He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to ignore the pain and empty his mind to fall asleep quickly. However… one minute, three minutes, five minutes passed. Qin Luo still couldn’t sleep. He smacked his lips in irritation, unable to understand why Ji Yan’s image kept popping up in his mind.
He liked her, no doubt, but he had decided to let go. Initially, his approach was not pure, driven by the system’s rewards. Even though he eventually developed genuine feelings, he never truly believed they could be together. So why was this woman now taking the initiative? Was she trying to turn the tables?
Qin Luo’s mind raced with thoughts, trying to force Ji Yan out of his head but failing. Every time he closed his eyes, he saw her standing downstairs, waiting for him expectantly. This kept him from calming down.
“Ugh…” Qin Luo let out a long sigh, reluctantly opening his heavy eyelids and getting up.
He noticed his three roommates watching him intently. “What are you staring at?” he snapped.
They didn’t respond, just turned their heads away, as if they were either unable to sleep or deliberately staying awake for some reason.
Qin Luo dressed and went to the bathroom for a quick wash. When he came out, he found his roommates again staring at him with peculiar expressions and meaningful smiles.
Qin Luo forced a laugh and said, “I’m hungry. I’m going to the canteen. What do you guys want? I’ll bring it back.”
“I want fried noodles.”
“Get me some fried pancakes.”
“Just bring me some dumplings, and a bottle of alcohol. I need to recover,” Han Yiqun added, being the pure-blooded Shandong guy he was.
Qin Luo nodded and was about to leave when he suddenly stopped and turned back, giving them a cold look. “Aren’t you forgetting something?”
The three laughed and chorused, “Daddy, love you!”
Only then did Qin Luo smile.
As he left, the three roommates, now fully awake, started discussing.
“Yesterday was already surprising. I never thought Ji Yan would come again. Could she really be falling for Brother Qin?”
“Definitely. Even a stone would be moved after being confessed to so many times.”
“If a stone is moved, that’s called a heart attack…”
“Ji Yan may be aloof, but she’s still a woman. With my years of experience, I’d say she’s just not used to it. Qin Luo always liked her, and now that he’s given up, she’s unsettled.”
“Wow, Li Xuan, that’s deep. Since when did you gain so much experience? I thought you’d never been in a relationship.”
“You wouldn’t understand. This is the rich experience I accumulated during high school.”
“You mean when you were a simp?”
“That’s called dedication! Dedication!”
