“Why did you know what that medicine was?”

“Huh?” Qin Luo was momentarily taken aback and instinctively replied, “You mean that ‘Contraceptive Pills’?”

Jia Ting tried to remain composed, “Yes, why are you so familiar with that medicine? Most people wouldn’t know it that well, right?”

Why was she asking such weird questions? It was not like it was a forbidden drug…

Qin Luo gave her a subtle look, “Do you have some misunderstanding about that medicine? Or about what most people know?”

Jia Ting hesitated, and blushed, “But that medicine’s use… If it’s not a special situation, you wouldn’t need it, right? Are you that familiar because you’ve used it before?”

“Hell no, I’ve never used it! That stuff is for women!”

“That’s what I mean. Have you given it to a woman before?”

Qin Luo didn’t answer directly but stopped what he was doing and looked at her. His quiet gaze made Jia Ting feel guilty, and she found it hard to meet his eyes.

“What are you looking at?”

“I’m just wondering, we don’t have that kind of relationship. Why are you so concerned about this?”

“I… I’m Ji Yan’s friend, and you’re the guy she likes. Of course, I need to help my friend understand you better!”

Jia Ting seemed flustered and didn’t want to dwell on the topic. She tried to turn the tables on Qin Luo, “Are you changing the subject? Are you feeling guilty?”

Qin Luo smirked, “What’s there to feel guilty about? I haven’t used that stuff or bought it for anyone.”

“Then why do you know so much about it?”

“Honestly, it’s common knowledge in some sense.”

“Then why don’t I know?”

“Good question. For someone as smart as you, you should know this stuff. What have you been studying?”

Jia Ting’s face reddened, “I’m not a medical student. How would I come across this in my books?”

Qin Luo nodded, “Exactly. Books can only teach you so much. Life is the best teacher. When you eventually need it, you’ll learn.”

“Who needs that stuff!” Jia Ting glared at him.

Qin Luo, feigning surprise, muttered, “Well, your future boyfriend is lucky then…”

Jia Ting didn’t catch on immediately, her mind filled with questions. When she finally understood, her face turned red with embarrassment, and she glared at Qin Luo with shame and anger.

Qin Luo looked at her cheerfully.

After a few seconds of eye contact, both turned away, neither saying a word.

The atmosphere grew awkward as they realized their relationship wasn’t close enough to joke about such things.

Despite not having spent much time together, they felt a strange familiarity, leading to more candid conversation than usual.

Now, realizing the awkwardness, they both felt a bit uneasy, and wanted to break the tension quickly.

Finally, Qin Luo finished applying the medicine.

Jia Ting, relieved, tentatively placed her foot on the ground.

Qin Luo frowned, “What are you doing? The nurse said to avoid putting weight on it.”

“I just want to see if it still hurts,” Jia Ting said, supporting herself. But the next second, pain shot through her ankle, causing her to fall back.

Qin Luo instinctively reached out his hand to catch her but hesitated, not wanting to spill the medicine, and ended up falling onto the bed with her.

Luckily, the medicine didn’t spill—

Just as this thought crossed Qin Luo’s mind, he found himself looking into Jia Ting’s eyes.

The demure and beautiful girl laid stiffly beneath him, her body as rigid as a statue, her face a mix of panic and confusion, adding to her charm.

Especially her slightly trembling, rosy lips, which drew Qin Luo’s gaze.

This scene is familiar. In a certain anime, the protagonist often used this move to get close to girls. But he was different. He was a decent guy.

Qin Luo forced himself to look away, and planned to get up before Jia Ting screamed. But then he heard a teasing voice from the door.

“Forgot to mention, there are cameras in the infirmary. The last couple who played around here, I still have their video on my phone.”

“You young people are so bold, always trying to replicate what you see online. So exciting.”

“Oh, I’m just giving you a heads-up. You continue, pretend I don’t exist.”

Both Qin Luo and Jia Ting froze, and turned stiffly to look at the door.

The nurse had returned, smiling at them with unabashed amusement.

Qin Luo forced an awkward smile: “You might not believe this, but it’s a misunderstanding.”

The nurse laughed even more, “You continue, pretend I’m not here. Really, I’ve seen it all.”

Qin Luo was extremely embarrassed. Looking down at Jia Ting, he saw her glaring at him. Her face was red as a tomato.

“Get up!” Even when angry, the delicate girl had a unique charm.

Qin Luo quickly stood up, placed the medicine bottle on the table, and mumbled, “I’ll leave now,” and hurried out.

The nurse didn’t stop him, and instead chuckled at Jia Ting, “So, you haven’t done that yet?”

Jia Ting was still flustered, and felt even more embarrassed. “You really misunderstood. I almost fell, and he fell with me. We’re not even friends, let alone a couple.”

The nurse smiled, “I’m not curious about your relationship. But as someone experienced, I’ll give you some advice. Sometimes, girls shouldn’t wait for boys to make the first move. If you find an opportunity, seize it. Otherwise, you might regret it later.”

Jia Ting thought the nurse’s advice was odd and felt it should be directed at Ji Yan. She didn’t say much, just nodded and began wrapping her ankle in gauze.

As she wrapped her ankle, Jia Ting couldn’t help but recall Qin Luo’s serious face as he applied the medicine. The image lingered in her mind, refusing to fade away.
