Chapter 9: In mortal form, impregnating a dragon

Leon left the room and walked down the corridor towards the temple’s backyard. Along the way, he encountered at least a dozen dragon clan guards. It was much stricter than when he sneaked out yesterday after waking up.

From this, it could be seen that the reason he could escape so smoothly from the Silver Dragon Temple yesterday was entirely intentional on Rosvitha’s part. She wanted to take the opportunity to bring Leon to the doorstep of the empire, making him witness his homeland while feeling the despair of being unable to return home and enduring Rosvitha’s humiliation.

That was why Leon thought Rosvitha was a crazy dragoness. Beneath her elegant and solemn exterior, she concealed a desire for madness and pathology. Leon also considered himself unlucky.

It wouldn’t be good falling into anyone’s hands, right?

Unfortunately, he fell into the hands of Rosvitha. Unable to escape, unable to die, he became a living tool for Rosvitha to vent her frustration, even with the additional responsibility of taking care of the child.

However, Leon wasn’t completely defeated because for Rosvitha to disgust him, she must put some effort into it. However, if Leon wanted to disgust Rosvitha, he didn’t need to do anything. Just appearing in her field of vision was enough. After all, looking at the history of the two major races, Leon might be the only human who made a dragon pregnant with his mortal body.

This act was outrageous to humans, and in Rosvitha’s mind, it was equally disgusting.

At the same time, Leon still hadn’t given up the thought of escaping. As he said last night, Rosvitha could extinguish his dignity and pride, but she could never kill his belief as a dragon slayer.

Given the chance, Leon was determined to escape from this nightmare. While contemplating his escape plan, Leon turned several corners in the corridor. As he approached the rear door of the temple, he suddenly saw a familiar petite figure at the end of the corridor.

Thick black hair with a hint of silver highlights, a small tail hanging at her feet, dressed in a luxurious dress with a delicate white silk skirt peeking out from underneath.

It was Muen. Leon was about to wave and greet her when he noticed that something seemed off with the little dragoness. Muen’s face showed no expression. She stared at Leon coldly as if she held some deep-seated grudge or resentment.

Despite not interacting much with Muen, Leon had a lasting impression of her warm eyes, which seemed quite different from the cold indifference. Leon pursed his lips, wondering if he walked too slowly, and Muen got impatient, hence the anger.

Hesitating for a moment, Leon still waved, “Muen, sorry to keep you waiting. Mom asked me to come play with you, so let’s—”

Before Leon could finish his sentence, Muen rushed out of the back door and ran towards the courtyard. Leon hurriedly followed, but Muen’s figure was already nowhere to be seen.

Despite complaining, Leon walked towards the backyard, hoping to encounter Muen. After a few turns, Leon arrived at the garden and saw Muen playing games with some dragonmaids.

Leon scratched his head and grumbled, “Children’s moods are really unpredictable. No wonder Rosvitha handed me the task of taking care of the child. She’s enjoying her leisure time.”

The little dragoness didn’t seem very enthusiastic.

“Princess, cover your eyes, and don’t peek~.”

“Princess, I’m over here, over here, come and catch me~.”

“Your Highness, be careful not to fall.”

The maids played a game of blindfolded hide-and-seek with her. After groping a few times in vain, Muen took off the blindfold, angrily threw it on the ground, and stamped her little foot, “Not fun, not playing anymore. I want Mommy and Daddy to play with me!”

An older-looking maid walked over, half-crouched down, looked up at Muen, and patiently said, “Your Highness, Queen Majesty toils day and night. She personally handles all matters, big and small, within the clan. She cannot always accompany Your Highness. You should be a sensible and obedient daughter, don’t make the Queen worry.”

“Um… Muen understands.”

Looking a bit aggrieved, the little dragon maiden bent down picked up the blindfold, and said, “Anna, let’s continue.”

“Your Highness is really obedient.”

Maid leader Anna stood up and helped Muen put the blindfold back on. The childish game of hide-and-seek continued. Muen still missed many times, relying on the chaotic sounds to judge their locations. But at some point, the maids’ voices stopped. Muen didn’t notice this and thought it was part of the game, so she continued blindfolded, trying to find someone.

“Your Highness—”

Before Anna could say anything, Muen grabbed someone.

Excitedly removing the blindfold, “Muen, I caught you! You are—Dad, Daddy?! Dad, how did you come down…”

Leon slowly crouched down, reached out, and pinched the chubby cheeks of Muen, “Of course, I came to play a game with you.”

Upon hearing this, excitement lit up Muen’s large eyes. “Really, Dad!”

Leon nodded with a smile, “Yes, really.”

“Yay~. Dad is playing with me~.” Muen happily exclaimed, spinning around Leon.

Her little tail swayed in circles in front of Leon’s eyes as he pondered something else. Just a few minutes ago, Muen in the corridor and the Muen in front of him seemed vastly different. Could her mood have improved so much in such a short time?

“Muen, did you just come back from the corridor?” Leon asked.

Muen stopped spinning and replied seriously, “No, Dad. I have been playing in the garden the whole time.”

“Oh, is that so…”

“What’s wrong, Dad?”

“No, nothing.”

Maybe he was just seeing things, Leon thought.

After just recovering from a vegetative state and being subjected to a hectic day by Rosvitha, a bit of dizziness could be considered mild. Leon getting out of bed now was already a sign of his improved health.

“By the way, Muen, what do you want to play? Do you want to continue playing hide-and-seek?” Leon changed the topic.

Muen pouted, thought for a moment, then shook her head, “I don’t want to play anymore. I am not good at it and always can’t catch anyone. How about we… we play dragon knights~.”

Leon was shocked, “Dragon knights… how do you play that?”

One minute later, Muen sat on Leon’s shoulders, her tail gently draping over his back. Leon raised his hand slightly, holding Muen’s delicate ankle to prevent her from falling off his back.

“Yay~. Dad, charge!”

“Alright, charge, charge!”

Leon then understood. The so-called Dragon Knight wasn’t a knight riding a dragon. It was a dragon riding a knight. Well, ride for a while, just ride for a while, spoil your daughter.

Could he really expect Rosvitha, that grumpy mother dragon, to play this parent-child game with Muen?

Dream on.

“Daddy, Daddy, go to Anna, the maid leader. She is now the guardian of the human race! If we defeat her, we can reclaim our territory!”

This statement almost made Leon strain his old waist.

Goodness, obedient daughter, you’re really poking into your old man’s soft spot.

Do you know who you are riding right now? You’re riding the (former) strongest dragon slayer of the human race, okay?

Why couldn’t you let that maid play someone else; she had to play a member of the human race? Isn’t it fine to play as a member of the beast race, elf race, or werewolf race?

Leon muttered in his heart, cursing the annoying dragon race education. It must all be Rosvitha’s fault!

But since he promised Muen to play the game with her, Leon had to live up to his word.

He responded to Muen and jogged towards the maids in front. The maids were also quite cooperative, and their acting skills were top-notch. Muen waved the branch in her hand, and they obediently fell in response.

Some even added drama to themselves, like:

“Ah, such a strong dragon princess~. Defeated me with just one move~.”

Or perhaps:

“Have we humans ultimately lost to the noble and powerful dragon race? Unwilling~. Unwilling~.”

Leon: Aren’t you unwilling like the Bull Demon King?

Even though there were countless complaints in his heart, Leon still held back. His hesitates were lost. He had to take care of the child, make Rosvitha relax her guard, and then seize the opportunity to escape.

And so, after playing the Dragon Knight game for an hour, Leon’s body began to feel a bit strained.

No, it wasn’t just a matter of feeling unsupported. His recently awakened body hadn’t fully recovered to normal levels yet, and even slight movements made him dizzy.

He crouched down, and Muen jumped from his shoulder, asking with concern, “Daddy, tired?”

“Yeah, a bit—”

“Daddy’s not tired.”

A voice came from the direction of the temple.

Leon and Muen looked towards the sound, and it was Rosvitha. She was standing on the balcony, leisurely watching them.

“Muen, Daddy is not tired at all. He is full of energy now, and you can continue playing any game with him,” Rosvitha said casually.

“Really? That’s great~. I thought Daddy was tired.”

Muen turned to Leon, “Daddy, let’s continue playing, okay?”

Leon stood up and looked at Rosvitha on the balcony.

Rosvitha rarely smiled at him. But that smile looked like a sly fox who had succeeded in a cunning plan.

“Rosvitha!” Leon shouted at her with a determined attitude for a desperate fight.

“What’s wrong?”

Leon gritted his teeth and ran through all the curse words he could think of. But considering the presence of the child beside him, he could only burst out with one,

“Cute.”
