Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have …
Vol. 1 Ch. 114 Table of contents

Chapter 114: Good news, the vice principal isn’t here

Although this letter is just a simple invitation, it doesn’t mention Noia’s performance.

But they have confidence in their daughter’s abilities and the creativity of her selection for this competition.

However, the couple couldn’t feel too happy about it.

Because the word “ceremony” always brought back some embarrassing memories of their experiences at St. Hys Academy.

Whether it was the previous enrollment ceremony or the school sports day ceremony, under the manipulation of Vice Principal Wilson, that old B-dragon, they always found themselves in extremely awkward situations in front of the dragon community as this “model family.”

It’s possible that Wilson genuinely took pride in having a student from such an outstanding family in his academy, and in the eyes of other dragon families, the Melkvi family was indeed a model for their studies.

But!

Do they not know what kind of family this is?!

The couple didn’t feel guilty about the title of “model family”; they just felt it would be better to pass on the honor rather than share it with their archenemy.

“So, tomorrow we’re probably going to be subjected to the judgmental gazes of those dragons again,” Leon said, “and Wilson will be the executioner tomorrow.”

After a moment’s thought, he looked at Rosvitha. “How about we sneak off to the academy tonight and quietly take care of that old B-dragon…”

As he spoke, Leon made a slicing motion across his neck.

Beheading someone to cure a headache is not a preferable method of treatment; however, if the person causing the headache happens to be the one getting beheaded, the therapeutic effect might be unexpectedly good.

Rosvitha knew he was joking, so she shook her head. “Let’s just go and attend it honestly. The letter says this ceremony is only held within Noia’s class. Even if the Vice Principal shows up, it won’t cause much of a stir.”

In other words, they had survived the previous heavyweight encounters, so this time’s level of intensity would be a piece of cake.

Leon scratched his head and breathed a sigh of relief. “Okay, then we’ll leave tomorrow morning?”

“Yeah.”

Leon waved his hand and left Rosvitha’s room.

Rosvitha sat alone on the couch, feeling a bit of PTSD despite her usually calm demeanor when it came to St. Hys Academy’s ceremonies.

She could only hope that Headmaster Wilson would tone it down a bit tomorrow and not let her and Leon embarrass themselves too much.

As the night grew darker and drowsiness crept in, Rosvitha got up, took a shower, quickly tidied up, and went to bed.

The next morning, the couple headed to St. Hys Academy.

Upon arrival, they made their way to the teaching building of the Little Dragons’ section.

The corridors of the teaching building were bustling with the parents of little dragons, some frantically searching for their children’s classrooms, while others took the opportunity to socialize with outsiders.

Leon and Rosvitha headed straight for Noia’s classroom.

The homeroom teacher was standing at the classroom door, welcoming each family.

After just finishing with one family and before having a chance to catch her breath, the homeroom teacher spotted Leon and Rosvitha walking towards them.

She quickly walked up to them, extending her hand to shake Leon’s and Rosvitha’s.

Following the instructions from the Vice Principal, she had to show ten times, or even nine times, the enthusiasm when dealing with model families!

“Welcome to the composition ceremony, both of you. You’ve traveled a long way.”

“Not at all, Teacher. You have to teach so many children regularly, which is even more demanding,” Rosvitha politely replied.

The homeroom teacher felt a bit embarrassed by the praise, covering her mouth and chuckling softly.

“It’s alright, it’s just part of my job. Please come in, Noia is sitting in the middle of the first row.”

Since Noia was much younger than the other young dragons and naturally shorter, it was reasonable for the homeroom teacher to place her in the first row for better visibility of the blackboard.

“Alright.”

Just as the couple was about to step into the classroom, they seemed to have thought of something and halted their steps.

Rosvitha pursed her lips, hesitating for a moment before she couldn’t help but ask, “Teacher, may I ask if Vice Principal Wilson will also be coming today?”

The homeroom teacher shook her head. “The Vice Principal is attending a meeting with the Headmaster at the main campus today, so he won’t be present for this small award ceremony.”

Immediately, the couple felt a sense of relief, as if they had been granted a reprieve.

Wilson, the “executioner of social death,” wasn’t here, so if there were any parts about model families during the ceremony, they should be able to quickly skip over them.

Leon and Rosvitha no longer had to worry about feeling like they wanted to disappear into the ground, as they had in the previous two ceremonies.

They walked into the classroom side by side and spotted Noia in the first row.

“Mommy, Daddy, over here!” Noia stood up in her seat, waving to them.

They walked over and sat down on either side of Noia.

The classroom was spacious, and to ensure that every family could accompany their child comfortably and happily during the ceremony, the academy had set up parent seats next to each Little dragon’s seat.

After taking their seats, Leon asked, “The letter from the academy didn’t mention the results of the competition. Have they not been announced yet?”

Noia nodded. “The teacher will announce the top three comprehensive rankings of the essays later, and then decide whether to publicly read them according to the students’ wishes.”

Pausing for a moment, she blinked her beautiful eyes and looked at Leon seriously. “Daddy.”

Leon was taken aback by his daughter’s sudden seriousness. “Hmm, what is it?”

“If I make it into the top three, I want… to read my essay. Can I?” Noia asked.

Leon seemed surprised, perhaps not expecting Noia to choose to read her own essay even when given the option to respect the students’ wishes.

Although she was a very competitive child, she didn’t enjoy being in the spotlight or showing off excessively. However, Noia always had her own thoughts and considerations, and Leon had always respected her choices.

So Leon nodded in response, “Of course. If there’s a chance to read your essay, Mommy and Daddy will definitely listen attentively.”

“Yeah!” Noia nodded eagerly.

Then she turned to look at Rosvitha.

Since their daughter wanted to read, Rosvitha naturally had no objections. However, the couple noticed a small detail that was different from usual.

That was Noia asking Leon first this time, and after getting Leon’s response, she then sought Rosvitha’s opinion. Normally, she would have listened to her mother’s thoughts first.

“Did you… accidentally change the order? Or is there some other reason?

Well, it’s just a minor detail, Leon and Rosvitha usually like to compete over their daughter, but there’s really no need to argue about something like ‘who asked first’.

Less than twenty minutes before the little ceremony began, the parents also gradually arrived one after another.

A family of three was whispering to each other, when suddenly a familiar name came from the classroom door.

“Lal, do you have confidence in this competition?”

“Yes, Dad.”

“That’s good, even though Dad didn’t read your essay, Dad believes in you.

You’ll definitely get a good grade. When the time comes, you must read it out loud in front of your classmates, understand?”

“Yes, Dad. The teacher read my essay before and said I wrote about paternal love very sincerely.”

“Haha, indeed you are my son. I’ll treat you to a big meal when we get back.”

While speaking, Lal and his father walked into the classroom with great strides.

Because Leon’s family was sitting in the front row, they saw Lal and his father as soon as they entered.

When Lal’s father recognized Leon with a single glance, his steps faltered. For some reason, his knees began to ache faintly as he locked eyes with this person who refused to show his tail…

He pursed his lips, coldly snorted, and then led Lal to seats at the back.

Leon glanced at him and then asked, “Did the unlucky kid write a good essay?”

Noia nodded, “Although he’s not good at fighting, his academic performance in regular classes is still pretty good.”

“It doesn’t matter, my daughter will definitely be better than him.” Leon patted Noia’s head gently.

Noia smiled and quietly waited for the little ceremony to begin.
