Sorry to disappoint the readers that the story didn’t end with a wedding. The reason why the novel is GWGM, is because the title in the rough draft was the God of War Returns Home and Gets Married for Fun. As this translator was editing my rough translation, I know that ‘gets married’ got to go. However, [結婚; to marry or to get married] is in the title, so I couldn’t completely take it out, instead, I used a weaker wording (gets married vs marriage). The more truthful/ liberal title would have been, the God of War Returns and Spices Up Life With Engagement, as Wen Xingliu’s life was ‘spiced up’ ever since his engagement with Bai Juanqiu.
