Seoul Object Story
Chapter 233 Table of contents

Yerin held the Gray Reaper close, gazing past the garden at the approaching red mist.

She couldn’t quite perceive the crimson creature, but a strong sense warned her that the mist was pressing closer, trying to invade.

‘This looks dangerous.’

As she watched the ominous mist, her expression filled with worry, the Gray Reaper began to glow with a warm golden light in her arms, as if in a peaceful sleep, eyes shut tight.

Thump. Thump.

The sound of something massive striking echoed from within the red mist beyond the garden. Though the source was hidden, the results were visible even to Yerin.

Impressions of a giant hand appeared, breaking through the barrier between the red mist and the Mini Reaper garden. Cracks spread across the boundary, and Yerin tightened her grip on the Gray Reaper, her heart pounding.

‘Is… is everything going to be okay?’

As Yerin held the Gray Reaper tightly, a low, resonant hum vibrated through the air, oddly comforting despite the circumstances.

She looked up to find the source of the sound and saw a massive black sphere hovering above them.

The Immutable Black Sphere.

It was an object she remembered vividly. The sphere began to rotate, slowly at first, as if awakening from a long slumber.

Suddenly, the garden’s boundary shattered completely, and the red mist surged forward. As the mist encroached, Yerin clutched the Gray Reaper close and stared at the Immutable Black Sphere with an almost hypnotic gaze.

The sphere’s rotation accelerated, sending out shockwaves that held the red mist at bay like the first light of dawn dispersing fog.

Then, with a violent burst, the sphere ripped open.

From within, a massive black hand emerged, its shadowy texture like condensed darkness, clawing at the sphere and tearing it apart. Thick black liquid poured out, dripping smoothly from the torn sphere to the ground below, spreading into a dark pool.

As the area transformed into a blackened swamp, Black Reapers gathered around Yerin, hopping excitedly.

‘Strong mother!’

Once the flow from the sphere ceased, a towering shadow rose from the inky pool.

It was an amorphous figure with no discernible depth or detail, rooted firmly in the black puddle as if it were part of the ground itself. Its long arms stretched down to the earth, with two white, glowing eyes and three pairs of luminous rings hovering above its head.

It looked like a being made from every darkness and nightmare imaginable.

Yet somehow, Yerin felt that this shadow was the Gray Reaper.

Or rather, she was sure of it.

‘Wow, a giant Reaper!’

Was it the glowing eyes and heart that gave her this feeling?

She wasn’t sure why, but she was confident this shadow wasn’t harmful.

‘Mother!’

The Black Reapers were hopping around, overwhelmed with excitement as they cheered, gazing up at the shadowy monster with adoration.

The figure surveyed its surroundings like a king, towering over the crimson mist and the pool of darkness spreading below.

It extended a hand, and I, with my eyes tightly closed, felt the energy of Yerin’s warmth within me, summoning the body from within The Immutable Black Sphere.

Soon, the sphere that hovered above the garden became a silhouette over my head, gradually solidifying.

The sensation of calling forth this massive body consumed my energy at an alarming rate, yet the warmth I felt from Yerin’s presence comforted me.

With Yerin's growing strength, I could now handle such a colossal form.

As I glanced up at the sphere, a thought crossed my mind.

‘You’ve arrived, Body.’

My consciousness merged with the sphere as I pushed my awareness outward.

From the perspective of the corpse’s eyes, the sphere’s once vast and empty space now felt cramped.

The emptiness was stifling compared to the omnipotence that had filled the universe. If I thought of it in human terms, it was like being in a prison too small to lie down, stand, or even fully stretch.

Thump.

As I rose, a tearing shockwave reverberated through the space.

Placing my hand on the outer wall of the sphere and pressing down, the immense body began to seep outwards.

The sensations within the cramped space expanded to fill the Mini Reapers' garden, and as the last piece of my body emerged from the sphere, I felt my awareness spread beyond Seoul and across the entire Earth.

‘Ah.’

The feeling of omnipotence surged through me once more.

I could sense the chaos and clamor of the world.

All the desires, passions, and hopes.

All the despair, envy, and suffering.

It was a massive flow, pouring into me from all directions.

My vision was filled with a torrent of gray aspirations.

Amidst the overwhelming stream, I could barely move a finger.

I felt as if I was about to lose myself in this vast sea of emotions.

‘What should I do?’

‘What was I doing here?’

Then, amidst the gray torrents, a brilliant white flame blazed like a lighthouse.

[Merciful Father, do not turn away from my prayers.]

[Save my soul.]

It was a guiding light, clear and intense.

As I reached for the beacon, a voice called out to me.

‘Wow, a giant Reaper!’

‘Mother!’

There, a warm, golden flame burned.

I grabbed it tightly, pulling myself out of the gray tide, and opened my eyes in the Mini Reapers' garden.

‘Mother!’

The Black Reapers were dancing around with joy.

Yerin held my original body close, gazing at me with confidence and certainty.

She had no doubt that I was in control of this form.

As expected of Yerin.

I shifted my gaze toward the red mist. It no longer felt threatening.

It had once seemed so powerful, yet now it posed no threat to me.

Space, dimension, order, causality.

They were merely external elements that had intruded into this world.

Standing here was already a struggle for such a being.

To dispel the red mist and creature, I raised both hands, gripping the space where the crimson creature existed.

The creature struggled, desperate to escape.

Had this been a regular spatial hold using the Gray Reaper’s body, it might have easily broken free.

But with this corpse, I could grasp not just space but existence itself.

‘Hehe, you’re not going anywhere!’

Drawing energy into the Halo above my head, I began to accumulate power, something I could only attempt now in this form.

As I did, the Black Reapers followed suit, gathering energy above their heads as they adopted the shadowy body’s form.

Once the energy reached its peak, it shot out as a brilliant white beam, tearing through the crimson creature.

‘Strong Mother Beam!’

‘Mother Beam!’

The Black Reapers released their golden beams simultaneously.

These beams, intangible and formless, severed the crimson creature’s connection to Earth, ripping a massive hole in space.

Beyond the tear lay a world of swirling, chaotic colors. The creature and mist were drawn into this rift, vanishing into the strange realm beyond.

As the red mist receded, the distorted landscape returned to normal, as if time itself had reversed.

The crimson creature clawed at the void, trying to hold on, but it was no match for the rift’s pull.

It seemed to scream something at me, but only an incomprehensible mental pulse escaped its gaping mouth.

Even as it dug its claws into the space around it, the tear’s force proved too strong.

As the last remnants of the creature vanished beyond the rift, it held my gaze until the portal sealed shut.

‘Finally, it’s over.’

Relief washed over me, and I watched as the Black Reapers celebrated their victory, dancing around.

It was time to return to my original body.

Just as I prepared to reenter the sphere, a heavy ripping sound echoed.

The crimson creature reemerged, clawing its way back through the rift. It gripped the edge with one hand while clutching at my body with the other.

[■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■]

It radiated a pulse of desperation, as if determined to drag me back with it.

For a moment, I felt as though I might be pulled into the abyss. But then, my corpse’s hand moved of its own accord, tearing the creature’s grasp apart.

With no resistance left, the crimson creature was sucked helplessly back into the rift.

As it disappeared, the tear sealed, and I felt the draining fatigue of having used up nearly all my energy.

Even with Yerin’s presence, maintaining control was difficult.

It seemed the body was using more energy than ever, as if it was being siphoned off to another place.

The corpse occasionally moved on its own, making it harder to maintain control.

‘Well, at least I’ve dealt with the intruders.’

Feeling a sense of accomplishment, I watched the Black Reapers celebrate before severing my connection to the corpse.
