“You two… *ahem*.”

Grandmother couldn’t bear to interrupt the intense gaze shared between her granddaughter and grandson-in-law.

But seriously, were they not aware of how their gazes practically sparked? She was over eight hundred years old and still wanted to live a few more centuries—she didn’t need to witness this lovey-dovey nonsense!

At the sound of her grandmother’s voice, Rosvisser quickly averted her gaze, unconsciously scratching her cheek.

It felt warm to the touch.

Seeing her granddaughter’s shy reaction, the grandmother silently mused about how much Rosvisser had changed since getting married. The contrast between now and fifty years ago was truly staggering.

However, she didn’t scold or hint at anything. Despite being strict, the grandmother knew that Rosvisser had grown into the Silver Dragon Queen and started her own family. Her choices, and the path she would follow, were now her own.

The grandmother wasn’t the type to interfere in the lives of the younger generation.

“It seems Leon wasn’t lying—you two are indeed very much in love,” the grandmother said slowly.

Rosvisser raised an eyebrow. “Leon said… that we’re very much in love?”

Her grandmother nodded. “He did.”

After a pause, she added, “And he said it more than once.”

Rosvisser’s heart skipped a beat. She couldn’t help but glance at the man sitting across from her, struggling to suppress the proud smile creeping onto her lips. In a teasing tone, she called out, “Really? *Dar-ling*?”

Taking advantage of their internal communication link, Rosvisser activated the private “marital channel” between them.

**[Oh ho, is that so?]**

**[And you said it more than once?]**

**[Just how in love are we? Come on, tell me too~]**

**[Why don’t I ever hear you say such things to me? Is it because you’re too shy?]**

**[Answer me, Leon!]**

**[Open the channel! Answer me now!]**

...

**[Leon Cassmod has left the marital channel and muted the conversation.]**

Leon lowered his head, quietly covering his face with his hand.

The dragons of the Melquivir family were not only skilled at changing faces but also experts at putting him in socially awkward situations.

Grandmother tried to smooth things over. “Little Lo, you’ve embarrassed him.”

Rosvisser huffed lightly. “It’s fine, Grandma. We’re like this all the time.”

Her grandmother chuckled softly. “That’s rather nice, then.”

After some light conversation, Rosvisser steered the discussion toward a more serious topic. “By the way, Grandma, you didn’t come back just to visit me and my sister, did you?”

It wasn’t often that her grandmother returned, and each time she did, it was usually for something important.

Sure enough, her grandmother’s expression grew more serious as she nodded. “Yes, there are some matters I wanted to discuss with you.”

Leon, sensing the change in tone, tentatively asked, “Should I… leave?”

Her grandmother shook her head. “No, Leon, you can stay. It’s fine.”

“Alright.”

Rosvisser straightened in her seat. “Please, go ahead, Grandma.”

The grandmother’s expression remained serious as she began speaking, her voice calm and steady.

“I actually planned to return three years ago when I heard that a group of elite dragon slayers among the humans was preparing to attack your territory. The leader was said to be a man in black armor, reputed to be the strongest of the dragon slayers. Several Dragon Kings had already fallen to him before then.”

Leon thought, *Maybe I should leave after all?*

The grandmother didn’t just strike; when she did, it was a direct hit to the vital point.

Leon and Rosvisser exchanged a brief look, and Rosvisser subtly shook her head, indicating he should stay and listen.

“I immediately wanted to return when I received the news,” the grandmother continued, “but at the time, I was conducting an investigation with several other Dragon Kings in the far north of the continent. Even if I had flown at full speed, it would’ve taken me at least a month to reach Silver Dragon territory.”

“Fortunately, Star-Wandering Dragon King Ravi was with me at the time. He offered to use his spatial magic to transport me part of the way, which would have saved half the travel time.”

“But it took several days to prepare the teleportation array, so I agreed to wait.”

“However, just when Ravi’s teleportation array was ready, news arrived that the Silver Dragon Queen had already defeated the human dragon slayers.”

“So, I decided not to return after all.”

Her grandmother narrowed her eyes slightly, recalling the events of that time. “I remember thinking that the man in black armor didn’t seem as strong as the legends claimed. How had he managed to kill so many Dragon Kings? Was it just luck?”

Leon thought, *Want me to give you a live demonstration? Bring me my black-gold armor!*

Sensing the slightest trace of irritation in Leon, Rosvisser quickly intervened, trying to smooth things over.

“Actually, that guy was really strong. I was just lucky to protect the territory.”

Rosvisser appreciated the fact that her grandmother had kept a close eye on her all this time, but if they kept talking about this, someone was bound to get heated. And if Leon got upset, things could spiral out of control. Normally, Rosvisser would tease him, but with her grandmother here, it wouldn’t be wise. If her grandmother picked up on anything suspicious, it wouldn’t be worth it.

So… to avoid detection—not to defend the stupid man, of course—she decided to change the subject.

“The next time I heard about you,” her grandmother continued, “was during Constantine, the Flame Dragon King’s invasion.”

At this point, her grandmother glanced at Leon.

“The messenger said the Silver Dragon Queen didn’t fight in person. Instead, a man using lightning magic took her place. Lightning magic isn’t common among dragons—only a few remnants of lesser dragon clans still use it, isn’t that right, Leon?”

The identity Rosvisser had created for Leon was that of a “survivor of a minor dragon clan,” and Leon had just introduced himself with this background to her grandmother.

It was a plausible story for outsiders, but it seemed it didn’t quite hold up under the grandmother’s scrutiny.

Her tone indicated she didn’t fully believe the story Leon had told earlier, though she didn’t confront him outright. Instead, she subtly pushed him to see how he would respond.

Rosvisser quickly realized that while her grandmother hadn’t discovered Leon’s human identity, she was clearly skeptical about the “lesser clan survivor” story.

So, when her grandmother had claimed earlier not to mind Leon’s origins, had she just been humoring her granddaughter?

Indeed, the older generation was always craftier. Rosvisser sighed inwardly.

“You’re right—I killed Constantine,” Leon said directly, surprising Rosvisser with his straightforwardness.

But it was a relief. There was no need to hide the truth. Evading the issue would only raise more suspicions.

“At the time, Rosvisser was about to give birth, and Constantine’s informants within the Silver Dragon Clan tipped him off. That’s why he chose that moment to launch a surprise attack. To protect Rosvisser and my unborn child, I risked my life to defeat Constantine.”

Risked his life, meaning Constantine lost his life.

“Barely,” meaning it took Leon a full ten minutes to defeat him.

If he had enough mana, five minutes would’ve sufficed.

Yes, that’s exactly what Leon meant.

Her grandmother chuckled softly. “Leon, you don’t need to be so tense. I won’t pry into your past. If Little Lo chose you, it means she trusts you.”

Leon exhaled a small sigh of relief and glanced over at Rosvisser.

She smiled, but there was a hint of pride in that smile.

*What are you so proud of, you silly dragon?*

Her grandmother continued, “In just three short years, the Silver Dragon Clan has faced two large-scale attacks. It gave me a sense of unease.”

“So I thought that as soon as our investigations in the far north were complete, I’d rush back.”

“Fortunately, there haven’t been any reports of war from your side since, so I managed to calm down a bit.”

“But… not long after, Star-Wandering Dragon King Ravi suddenly withdrew from our northern investigation for unknown reasons.”

“With Ravi gone, who specializes in spatial magic, it became much harder for us to continue our research, so we had to pause. That’s when I decided to return and visit you and Isha.”

“On the way back, my spies gathered some interesting information.”

“For instance… besides Ravi, two other Dragon Kings who specialize in spatial magic—‘Black Sun Dragon King Blai’ and ‘Chaos Dragon King Jagus’—also disappeared without a trace. Yet, their clans remain peaceful.”

Her grandmother looked at the couple, noticing how intently they listened, but chose not to elaborate further.

Rosvisser quickly picked up on the hint and continued. “If the Dragon Kings disappeared but left their clans in stable condition, it means they made arrangements before they left.”

Her grandmother nodded approvingly. “Exactly. I’m not sure if their sudden secret movements have anything to do with the recent attacks on your Silver Dragon Clan, but it’s important information for you to know.”

The sudden gathering of several Dragon Kings could not be a good sign.

This information was indeed crucial—it gave Rosvisser time to prepare for potential crises that might arise.

Rosvisser asked a few more questions about Ravi, and her grandmother answered

 them all.

Meanwhile, Leon pondered the names of the three Dragon Kings her grandmother had mentioned:

Ravi, Blai, and Jagus.

All of them…

He had never heard of them.

Just like how he had never heard of Constantine before.

“It’s hard not to connect these old monsters together…” Leon thought to himself.
