Chapter 247 Table of contents

A massive, snow-white Jaw that looked like white rice cake.

Though it seemed smaller than the Jaw I'd seen in my dream, it wore an expression of supreme confidence that more than made up for it.

"Guoooh!"

After scattering the countless small "Nameless" around it, the otherworldly white Jaw let out a deep, resonant roar.

An expression that didn't look the least bit pitiful, and a cry that wasn’t the least bit cute.

And its body was as hard as stone!

Still, my own Jaw, with its sad little face and adorable whining, is way cuter.

The blue-haired girl approached this grotesque Jaw with excitement, petting it vigorously.

"Wow! You really found your way here!"

Though its surface looked rough and rock-solid, the blue-haired girl ignored that and kept petting it with a beaming smile.

Then, after giving it a couple of taps, she shouted:

"Go on, wipe out all the enemies!"

The white Jaw, hearing her command, charged forward with a confident look.

It must have thought the "Nameless" were no threat, easily scattering them as it had before.

But hmm, the "Nameless" would adapt quickly to attacks based on brute force, wouldn’t they?

The "Nameless," able to manipulate space, seemed to warp around, creating an eerie atmosphere. When you took your eyes off them, they seemed to appear elsewhere, like they could teleport.

Against an entity that could control space, physical attacks relying on mass alone were hardly effective.

Sure enough, as soon as the arrogant white Jaw collided with the first "Nameless," its charge came to an abrupt end.

Despite the immense size difference, the Jaw couldn’t push through and was immediately held in place.

The "Nameless," having anchored itself to space, began driving sharp claws into the Jaw.

And so, the white Jaw, ruthlessly clawed apart, was reduced to a snow-white pulp.

"Ah!"

The blue-haired girl looked on with worry as the Jaw, severely wounded, began to regenerate slowly.

I approached her, extending my hand.

"Let me borrow your Jaw!"

She gazed at my face for a moment, then nodded and firmly grasped my hand.

"Alright. I'll lend it to you."

Hand in hand, the blue-haired girl and I started to control the white Jaw together.

With our hands clasped, I held the Halo and she took hold of the core of the white Jaw with her other hand.

The endless kindling that was Yerin’s essence began to seep into the Jaw's core, while the Halo I held fit snugly on top of the Jaw’s head.

Its body, now blackened and endlessly disintegrating.

That grotesque Jaw was indeed inferior to my own cute Jaw, as its body burned up and crumbled to ash in an instant.

Yet, the unceasing flames of kindling, fed through the core, began to rebuild the Jaw’s body from mere dust.

An endless cycle of breaking down and regenerating.

This painful repetition was slowly transforming the white Jaw into a higher being.

Each time it shattered, it took one more agonizing step forward, incredibly slow yet steady—so slow it would have to shatter ten thousand times to reach even the level of a marshmallow Jaw.

With each agonizing step, the white Jaw let out a moan of pain.

"Kyu-hihing."

At that moment, the Halo settled over the Jaw's head, spreading white flames all around.

As these flames of nullification touched the parts of the "Nameless," those once solid forms started fading away like mirages.

'It worked!'

Just as I thought we could hold on for an hour, everything began to collapse.

'!'

The sky fell, and the earth broke apart, revealing a boundless void beneath.

It felt like a failed cycle, with time rewinding, yet it was somehow different.

'The dream is collapsing.'

The white flames were dismantling the very dream crafted by the object’s powers.

We haven't even seen the conclusion yet!

What should we do?

Sehee Lab’s Sleep Room

This place was renowned for making an hour’s sleep feel like eight hours, and it was always filled with people sound asleep.

In the corner of the sleep room, a Sprout Reaper was slumbering under the soft glow of moonlight, swaying its little leaves.

Then, transparent Sprout Reapers began to gather around the potted Sprout Reaper, glowing in a navy blue reminiscent of the night sky.

These special Sprout Reapers, only visible to those with a bond, looked identical to the Sprout Reaper, just a bit smaller.

Except for their size, they looked so alike they could have been younger siblings visiting their older sister.

"Mom is calling us!"

"Mom’s request."

"Sis, wake up!"

The tiny Sprout Reapers poked at the chubby cheeks of the potted Sprout Reaper, trying to wake it.

The potted Reaper, seemingly annoyed, furrowed its leaves and started burrowing deeper into the pot.

'!'

The little ones, surprised, grabbed the sprout to keep it from hiding, and then they began their assault.

They pulled it out of the pot, slapped its cheeks, and lifted its eyelids.

Yet, despite all this, the older Sprout Reaper just squirmed and made no effort to wake up.

Should they call the Red Reaper and set the sprout on fire?

As this thought spread among them, one of the younger Sprout Reapers, visibly frustrated, approached.

"Ang!"

With its mouth wide open, it bit down hard on its sister's plump cheek.

'!!!'

The older Sprout Reaper, startled, finally woke up, a clear set of teeth marks on its cheek.

'...?'

The younger Sprout Reapers began to express their determination to the bewildered Sprout Reaper.

"Mom is calling us!"

"Mom needs us!"

Hearing this, the older Sprout Reaper gave a small nod, then walked out under the moonlight with a serious expression.

Thump, thump.

And the smaller Sprout Reapers followed behind.

"Tree!"

With hands raised, the older Sprout Reaper released its will.

"Tree!!!"

The younger Sprout Reapers raised their hands too, mimicking a tree.

At that moment, a navy glow flickered from their sprouts, sending light toward the sky.

It was aimed toward Russia.

In the direction of the Gray Reaper.

Passing by the sleep room, a Golden Reaper caught sight of the scene.

"Mom?"

It was one of the Golden Reapers, fervently looking for the mom who had once played pranks with candy.

The charred black Jaw let out a cute scream.

"Kyu-hihing."

The white Jaw had become even cuter!

The blue-haired girl smiled, watching the Jaw emit a voice far cuter than before.

But just as she was about to share her joy with the girl holding her hand, the black-and-white-dressed girl collapsed as if fainting.

"Huh?"

Though her hand was still gripping tightly, she didn’t seem entirely unconscious, but something felt wrong.

The girl, though still solid, looked as if she were fading, like a broken TV screen with static and distortion.

The blue-haired girl, still holding hands, gently laid her down.

"Are you okay?"

She asked, concerned, but got no response.

And then the strange phenomenon began to spread to the white Jaw.

The Halo on its head trembled as if unstable, and the flames regenerating its body began to dwindle.

'What do I do? Should I let go and break the connection?'

The golden flames diminished, and the white Jaw’s cracks grew more pronounced.

Moreover, the girl holding hands seemed about to disappear any second.

Boom!

Suddenly, gigantic trees erupted around the city, creating a wall-like barrier with an immense rumbling sound.

Golden and navy hues intertwined to form these mystical trees.

They seemed faint, like an illusion, yet they were certainly there.

Then, around the black-and-white-clad girl, small figures that looked exactly like the blue-haired girl appeared.

Everything was navy.

They were palm-sized, with sprouts atop their heads, young-looking, and chubby-cheeked—just like the blue-haired girl, except smaller.

The Sprout Reapers surrounded the black-and-white-clad girl, their faces filled with worry, while the leader, sporting a clear bite mark on its cheek, was slightly amusing to look at.

So bold, yet with a bite mark!

"Hehe."

Had they heard her laugh?

The Sprout Reapers turned toward the sound, faces puzzled.

They looked back and forth between the blue-haired girl and the black-and-white-clad girl, tilting their heads in confusion.

"Two moms?"

As my vision blurred and Siberia started to overlap with the fantasy city beyond, gigantic trees rose and steadied the dream world.

The connection, which seemed about to break under the influence of the Halo, was reconnected by the Sprout Reapers’ power.

My vision returned to normal, and I regained my senses.

"Mom!"

As soon as I opened my eyes, the Sprout Reapers rushed to hug me.

They multiplied again!

There should have only been one Sprout Reaper!

This sense of responsibility without any pleasure had multiplied yet again.

The Sprout Reapers wore an expression of confidence, as if saying, "We’ve come to save Mom!"

When I stood up, holding the blue-haired girl’s hand, the crumbling white Jaw was restored.

"Kyu!"

And the white Jaw let out a victorious roar.

A massive surge of white flames spread out, blanketing the entire city like snow.

These flames were flakes of nullification, erasing the clones of "Nameless."

"We did it!"

I flashed a triumphant grin at the blue-haired girl.

But it seemed "Nameless" had no intention of ending it here.

From within a deep, dark cloud, a massive gust suddenly blew.

As thunder roared, the cloud was torn apart, revealing a monstrous arm.

The arm ripped apart the sky itself, exposing a sinister presence far larger and more frightening than I’d anticipated.

It was as though all human malice had coalesced into one being.

That grotesquely twisted entity began clawing at the city with a single arm.

With each scar it left, the true form of "Nameless" emerged further from the crack.

The presence of "Nameless," emitting from its true form, was so overwhelming that even those unaffected by objects could feel it.

I felt a faint tremor from the blue-haired girl’s hand.

"The magic book that killed a god."

The blue-haired girl looked up at the sky, murmuring in a low voice.
