Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have …
Vol. 2 Ch. 50 Table of contents

Leon brought the future scientist, Aurora, to Rosvisser’s private library.

After mending his relationship with that dragoness, she had given him the keys to most of the rooms in the Silver Dragon Palace, including her private library.

As he opened the door, neat rows of bookshelves came into view, and the elegant, simple decor added to the scholarly atmosphere of the room.

The moment they entered, Aurora’s eyes widened in amazement, her little fists clenched with excitement, and even her tail perked up slightly. Her pink eyes sparkled with anticipation and eagerness for the books and knowledge waiting inside.

This was her first time visiting Rosvisser’s library, so her excitement was entirely expected.

Leon patted Aurora’s head.

“What do you think?” he asked.

“It’s amazing!”

Leon chuckled. “Your sister Noa used to study here, too. It was also where your sister Moon first learned magic. If you want to learn more, this library has everything you need.”

Rosvisser’s collection could satisfy even a diligent scholar like Noa, let alone Aurora, who was just starting out.

Leon patted Aurora’s back. “Go ahead and pick out some books you like. I’ll be waiting at the desk by the window.”

“Okay!”

Aurora eagerly dashed into the aisles of bookshelves, picking through the vast collection with excitement.

Leon went to his usual spot by the window, where he had often sat when Noa and Moon were studying, and quietly waited.

About ten minutes later, Aurora wobbled over with a stack of books towering above her head, her little tail swaying behind her as she struggled to keep her balance.

Leon shook his head, smiling, and walked over to take the books from her.

“Do you think you can read all of these?” he asked with amusement.

“Daddy, you don’t understand. Books are a child’s ladder to progress,” Aurora said confidently.

Leon paused for a moment. He’d heard that famous quote before, though it was originally, “Books are the ladder of progress for humanity,” wasn’t it?

Hmm...

Could it be that the human side of his daughter’s bloodline was starting to awaken?

No wonder she was quieter than other young dragons and more interested in books. Was it because of that?

*Good, good, my precious girl—you’re making your father proud!*

But just as Leon was getting ahead of himself, he realized that things might not be as he thought.

Aurora began taking the books from his hands, one by one, and stacking them on a chair next to the desk. She carefully piled them up, creating a small tower of books.

Finally, she climbed on top of the “book mountain,” her height just enough to allow her to lean on the desk comfortably to read.

“Look, Daddy! A ladder to progress!” Aurora proudly patted the stack of books beneath her.

So, “books are a ladder to progress” had a much more literal meaning in this case. Adults reading at a desk didn’t usually need to sit on books.

Leon couldn’t help but chuckle at his daughter’s cleverness, though the tiny flicker of hope he’d felt earlier had been quickly extinguished.

*Human genes, wake up! Do your job, human genes!*

Leon walked over and sat across from his daughter. “Sweetie, this isn’t a ladder to progress—it’s more like a cushion for progress.”

“‘Ladder’ sounds more refined,” Aurora said seriously.

Leon laughed and glanced at the books that weren’t being used as cushions. “What books did you pick?”

“‘A Brief History of Dragons,’ ‘The Hypothesis of Magic’s Origin,’ ‘From Void to Stars,’ and...”

As she spoke, Aurora held up another book.

Leon’s eyes widened as he read the title on the cover aloud.

“‘A History of Human Art’?”

Aurora nodded obediently. “Mhm!”

*Maybe I gave up hope too soon.*

This was truly a victory for the human side of her heritage!

But amidst his joy, a question popped into Leon’s mind:

Why did Rosvisser’s library have human books?

When he had previously studied here with Noa and Moon, there hadn’t been a single book about humans.

Could it have been added later?

Did that dragoness put it there herself?

No way to guess.

But regardless, the fact that his daughter was showing interest in human culture was a good thing.

What could he say? The prenatal education plan was a complete success!

All those times he had read poetry and sung to Rosvisser’s pregnant belly had paid off. The results of all that effort were finally showing!

Leon suppressed his laughter and brought his thoughts back to the present. “Alright, take your time. If you have any questions, just ask me.”

“Okay!”

Aurora opened the book on human art and started reading intently.

Leon, with nothing else to do, casually picked up *A Brief History of Dragons* from the table and flipped through it.

In the table of contents, the author had categorized each dragon tribe and dedicated individual chapters to the development of each one.

Leon skimmed a couple of chapters and found that the author was quite skilled.

Although the history was presented in “fragmented” pieces, each fragment was connected to key points in the others. The order in which the dragon tribes appeared in the book was also well thought out, creating a smooth, coherent narrative despite the fragmented structure.

Leon searched for the section on the Silver Dragon Tribe.

The Silver Dragons appeared a bit later in the book, toward the middle and end.

So, Rosvisser’s tribe had only risen in prominence within the last thousand years?

“Thanks to their advantageous geographic location, the Silver Dragons quickly established their place among the dragon tribes after their emergence.”

“Their territory was naturally defensible, which made it difficult to attack. As a result, the Silver Dragon Kings were known for their reluctance to engage in conflict compared to the rulers of other tribes. They never initiated wars with any other races.”

There was truth to the saying *One’s environment shapes them*.

Living in such a rich, well-protected area, the Silver Dragons didn’t need to expand aggressively like Constantine, conquering territories to grow.

Leon continued reading until he reached the part where the heroine made her appearance:

“In the year 1680 of the Creation Era, Rosvisser Melquevian ascended as the fourth Silver Dragon King. During her forty years of rule (as of the year 1720, when this book was written), she revitalized the Silver Dragon tribe through advancements in trade and economic systems.”

“Before ascending the throne, Melquevian spent nearly a century honing her skills and completed the third Silver Dragon King’s academic tests with perfection. She even defeated the third king in a direct confrontation, earning the unwavering support of all Silver Dragons.”

“Angelina Olette, current headmistress of Saint Hyss Academy and an absolutely impartial Five-Star Elder, once said of her student:”

“‘Of all the children who love to learn, Melquevian is the one who impressed me the most.’”

“‘She is both focused and vibrant, always the most brilliant presence in any crowd. In her presence, even the stars seem to lose their shine. Her dedication to both academics and strength has made her the most exceptional Silver Dragon King in a thousand years.’”

“‘Rosvisser Melquevian, the pride of Saint Hyss Academy, the pride of the dragon race!’”

Leon’s eye twitched slightly.

*That’s quite a bit of praise...*

Vice Principal Wilson had always been a fan of Leon and Rosvisser as a couple.

And now, the headmistress herself seemed like a one-woman fan club for Rosvisser.

*So, Saint Hyss Academy isn’t really an academy, is it?*

*It’s just a giant fan club!*

And if Rosvisser was such an outstanding alumna, then why did their daughter have to take some ridiculous entrance exam when she was enrolled? Couldn’t they just pull some strings?

Another academy that dealt with dragons was Kassel. The son of an honorary alumnus there didn’t just skip the line; he even got an S-rank rating... (not that we’re naming names).

After silently venting for a moment, Leon looked up at Aurora.

His dear daughter was reading seriously, gently biting her lip, her brow furrowed in deep thought.

Leon didn’t want to interrupt her, so he lowered his head and continued reading the endless praise from Rosvisser’s fan club.

Even though it was a bit over the top, right now, Leon was totally enjoying it.

Praise her, love her, shower her with compliments!

Because she’s *my* wife.
