The absurd statement of Li Qiye being the heaven’s son didn’t meet backlash from listeners.
“Only the heaven’s son can dance with lightning bolts, primal ancestors can’t do this.” A regional lord said.
“I’ve only heard of people enduring tribulations, not anything remotely close to this.” A desolate god said.
“Has there been any instance like this in Three Immortals? I think some existences used insane methods to overcome the tribulations or even slay them, nothing like this though.” An old ancestor murmured.
“That’s why someone called him the heaven’s son, imagine a boy growing amidst the lightning bolts so he can play with them, that’s somehow a logical viewpoint.” A big shot said.
Others exchanged glances and thought this absurd scenario would explain it.
“Is the heaven real, let alone its son?” Someone couldn’t help but ask. He wasn’t questioning Li Qiye’s ability since they saw it with their own eyes.
The issue was why would the heaven’s son be in the mortal world?
“The tribulations are proof of the heaven’s existence.” A desolate god looked up and said.
Before reaching a certain level, cultivators had no idea of the heaven’s existence.
“Then why hasn’t a son appeared until now?” Another questioned.
They toyed with the idea of Li Qiye being the heaven’s child. But if these beings were real, how come none had appeared earlier in history?
“He’s a chosen one, not an actual son but just picked by the high heaven and protected by the tribulations.” Someone shouted confidently.
“Chosen… the chosen one…” People looked around to see others’ expression.
“Now this makes more sense, being chosen by the heaven.” A desolate god was convinced.
“Chosen by the heaven and granted protection.” The crowd stared at Li Qiye.
“That’s the only explanation for this.” A big shot remarked.
“How magical, a mortal being chosen.” One cultivator remarked.
The moment everyone accepted Li Qiye as the chosen one, the world made sense again.
“Anyone else?” Li Qiye looked around and asked.
Eyes turned toward Witch King and Golden Flower Emperor’s direction. However, they were already long gone. They knew they couldn’t endure the lightning water, so throwing their lives away was unwise.
The crowd became smart enough to not pursue this matter after seeing what Li Qiye could do.
“If not, then I’ll take them.” Li Qiye smiled and gestured at Six-style Emperor.
They could only watch her take the piles, salivating but not daring to utter grievances.
Li Qiye turned his attention to the suppressed Devil Emissary and smiled: “A unique form of life, if one can call it that.”
Devil Emissary struggled but couldn’t break free from the imprisonment.
“Unique or whatever, still can be reduced to ashes.” Li Qiye raised his hand.
Although Devil Emissary showed something heaven-defying during the reconstruction using evil intents, Li Qiye could still put an end to him.
“Sir, Sir, please show mercy.” A fog appeared nearby.
“What is it now?” Li Qiye said.
Fog Emissary smiled wryly and said: “Sir, please don’t kill him. Perhaps he can still be of use.”
“That’s fine, no rush.” Li Qiye released the heavenly seal and Devil Emissary immediately disappeared.
“Brother Devil, remember that you owe me your life!” Fog Emissary yelled but who knows if Devil Emissary had heard him.
Li Qiye then commanded the water to return to the abyssal well. It regained its original appearance, being filled to the brim once more.
“No point in staying any longer.” Everyone understood now was the time to leave and did just that.
“You came just in time, looks like you kept yourself busy.” Li Qiye told Fog Emissary.
“Sir, I was busy indeed, gathering information and lucky enough to get some information out of Brother Water.” Fog Emissary responded.
“What information?” Six-style didn’t have a good impression of him due to the inconsistencies in his responses.
“I’ve confirmed that when not counting Nameless, Gold and Devil are the oldest among us, maybe the whole market as well.” Fog said.
“Gold is older than me.” A chilling voice answered, invoking the sensation of a serpent crawling into one’s shirt.
Six-style couldn’t help taking one step back.
“Ah, Brother Devil, you didn’t get far. Perfect, you know more about the emissaries than I do.” Fog said.
“I don’t.” Devil Emissary had no emotion in his grating voice. There was nothing kind left in his very being, only evil.
