“Crack!” Li Qiye pulled out the remnant weapon from the statue’s chest.
Although the statue looked made from iron wires, they were fortified dao laws from a supreme terror. A primal ancestor couldn’t push them out to grab the weapon.
“Crack!” Cracks appeared the moment he pulled it out. The statute’s dao laws have kept it together until now.
Blue rays emanated from it, looking like those from a wonderful planet.
“What a weapon, immortal dao-iron, I’ve only heard of them during my era, never had the chance to see one.” Water couldn’t help but praise.
“Regular true flames cannot refine it, only true blood. Gestating and creating it must have taken so much effort.” Nameless said with admiration.
One couldn’t tell the type of weapon due to its missing parts. It could be a sword, saber, or something else. This part was augmented further, seemingly the power source of the weapon.
The metal used was immensely precious. A tiny piece was priceless, let alone a whole weapon. Many ancient progenitors mustered all of their wealth and resources to create it.
“Still broken regardless, the guy was monstrous.” Water said.
“It broke after being taken. The person was far more powerful than any ancient progenitor and borrowed the power of a supreme terror. However, this still wasn’t enough to deal with the second ghost.” Li Qiye said.
“So impressive, no wonder you started scheming against the three immortals.” Water stared at the bald old man.
“Not me, I didn’t scheme against the three immortals.” The old man shook his head.
“I’m sure the thoughts weren’t whimsical or popped up out of nowhere.” Devil interjected.
“When did you two start planning?” Fog asked.
In the end, the old man sighed and said: “The legacy, and it’s just him, not me.”
“It drove you two insane?” Devil asked.
“It’s because you have never seen it. This legacy is special, Three Immortals Fusion, it can guarantee immortality.” The old man said.
“If that’s the case, how did Moshi kill them?” Fog said.
“How do you know the three immortals are dead? It’s not that simple, as long as their legacy is around, it’s too early for conclusion.” The old man said.
“I agree.” Nameless nodded: “Immortal Suppression Dynasty wasn’t looking for sinners under Dingtian and Poye’s order, it was looking for the three immortals.”
“So you saw it in person?” Fog asked the old man.
“Yes.” The old man said: “It is connected to the three worlds and could become one with them.” The old man said.
“How can you obtain the legacy without killing the three immortals? Killing them will cause it to shatter, no?” Fog said.
“In the beginning, we didn’t want to seize it. Just being connected to the three worlds meant being able to use their momentum.” The old man said.
“Borrowing it to break the door, becoming a supreme terror on the same level as the immortals.” Li Qiye said.
“Ah, I see.” Water said and the whole group understood.
“We were behind then so we only wanted to use it to gestate our dao and seek further enlightenment.” The old man said.
“The three immortals recognized your treacherous nature and refused.” Water chuckled.
“They did refuse and said that using it would cause us to fall to the evil path.” The old man said.
“They were right.” Li Qiye added: “Your dao heart was not firm enough to be connected to all three worlds. When you truly sensed its potential, your dao heart would crumble. It would be the only thing on your mind, stopping you from cultivating.”
“Yes.” The old man sighed: “But we didn’t think about that then. We thought they didn’t trust us and wanted to monopolize the three worlds.”
“What a shame, not recognizing the love.” Water shook his head.
The old man sighed and didn’t continue.
“The seed of discord was sown then, that’s why they did everything they could for the corpseworm, looks like it wasn’t just greed but also unjustified indignation.” Li Qiye said.
“I wouldn’t have given it to them either.” Devil said.
“That Xian Chengtian betrayed the three supreme terrors from the Redemption Grounds for their legacies too.” Fog said.
“I don’t know what these legacies might be, but anyone who wants to become an immortal can’t resist the temptation. Obtaining them might mean reaching the next level.” The old man said.
“That would just be the pseudo level, the improper path with no real future. They’ll either be killed by a stronger character or die from backlash since they can’t truly control the legacies.” Li Qiye said.
“How many can become pseudo-immortals? Just reaching that level for a brief moment is more than enough.” Devil said.
“You’ve thought about it?” The others stared at him.
“I cannot become one anymore.” Devil became dejected.
“Is that why you’re so vile all the time?” Water asked.
“Well, no, being a ghost isn’t bad.” Devil’s cold tone returned.
“Someone will kill you sooner or later if you keep this up.” Fog said.
Devil glared at him but he wasn’t intimidated.
“Looking for a fight?” He challenged.
“Only if you wish to die.” Devil said.
The old man ignored their banter and stared at the broken weapon: “Sir, this is a legacy, right?”
“This is one?” Nameless became startled, the same for the others.
“May I take a closer look?” Water became impatient.
