[Title: What’s with this Ga-wol video?]

If you look closely under the cape, you can see something like a staff or a crutch. The way he’s gripping the display panel also seems a bit tense—not exactly a gentle touch.

Seeing this made me realize Ga-wol has never shown himself moving in real life.

He always keeps his legs covered during streams, and when they’re collabing, it’s always Elderin who brings the water like it’s a given.

But think about it.

Ga-wol calls Elderin “unnie” (older sister) and treats her as a senior in the streaming world. He genuinely shows her respect as a senior, and it’s clear they get along.

In most cases, wouldn’t the younger sibling handle the minor chores? At least occasionally, you’d expect him to move, right?

So here’s my conclusion: something’s wrong with his leg. Specifically, his left leg.

[Title: Then how has Ga-wol been gaming all this time?]

(Attached video: Ga-wol, leg choke move)

Aren’t the current rigs all motion-capture-assisted? How’s he pulling off moves like this without moving his left leg?

Was he actually hurting that much, trembling like that? Damn…

Basically, the Korean branch updated the IKL rules first, and then HQ followed, rolling out the changes across all leagues. It probably got overshadowed by Ga-wol’s debut.

Anyway, rule-wise, there’s no problem with his participation. Relax, everyone; get ready to enjoy the Summer League. This is the year we go for the championship.

[Title: Want to have a drink together?]
[‘Ga-wol’ is streaming.]
[ON AIR | 00:53:21]

I’d never really been fond of alcohol. Not that I thought I couldn’t drink—I just wasn’t the type to enjoy it. Even when my tolerance was higher during my athletic days, I felt the same.

Alcohol has about 7 kcal per gram, and besides being empty calories, it also interferes with liver protein synthesis. To someone focused on physical upkeep, alcohol was a tasteless, unhealthy drink. Nothing more, nothing less.

But now…

"These days, I think I’ve come to enjoy drinking. I’m not great at it, but when I’m just a little tipsy… it feels nice. Do you all dislike it?"

Despite my now lower tolerance, I found myself surprisingly enjoying it.

Less than an hour into streaming with Luche, the buzz had already kicked in.

The warmth from my breath met the cool room air and slowly dissipated. The faint scent of alcohol wafting up to my nose made me feel that much more intoxicated.

I’d planned to take it slow this time, yet here I was, sipping distilled soju with a clear color. My tongue tingled slightly, so I absentmindedly licked my lips.

The chat was buzzing. I hadn’t said anything, so maybe Luche did something? Glancing over, I saw her picking up a piece of chicken.

I didn’t get it. My viewers were a noisy bunch by nature; it was probably nothing.

Most of our conversation was prompted by viewer questions. We’d pick a suitable donation or chat message and use it as a jumping-off point for some banter. That’s when a donation came in that couldn’t be ignored.

「Donation of 10,000 won from SigmaFanForever」
「Ga-wol, what was your first impression in real life?」

This seemed directed at Luche. Who would ask someone this in front of the person in question?

The slight haze in my mind cleared instantly.

Not that it was a topic I could jump into, so I just took a bite of the chicken. …It was delicious.

Why do I like cheese so much? Is this what they call umami? The chewy texture and savory flavor… I felt like I’d been completely captivated.

After taking a moment to gather her thoughts, Luche began to speak.

"Actually, I didn’t meet Daeun first in the game. She was so cute; I just wanted to root for her. Maybe it’s surprising. Can you imagine her with that mischievous image?"

So that’s how she saw me. Choosing chicken as a snack was a smart move. It was sweet, delicious, and made me happy.

So the conversation turned in this direction. I wasn’t surprised. Recently, there had been more talk about my leg than ever.

It wasn’t a big issue. The league organizers and Sigma’s front office were already aware. It was just a wave I’d have to face eventually.

If it hadn’t come up on its own, I’d have probably revealed it myself before the Summer League.

"Yes, my leg is injured. Without crutches, I can’t walk on my own. Even with a cane, it’s challenging."

Given the place I used to live, a wheelchair wasn’t an option either. The building didn’t even have an elevator. While I could use one now, I still dislike the idea.

Once I sit down, I fear I’ll never get back up. Even if it’s a foolish thought, I can’t help it.

I didn’t want to discuss the connection rig. To explain that, I’d have to talk about my parents. I wasn’t strong enough to face that yet.

"The sync rate during Arena was 70%. It hurt like hell at first, but humans adapt, right? My current device has a lower rate. What was it again?"

"64.4%. It’s been gradually going down."

"So it seems. It’s a lot better than before."

My throat was parched. My viewers were understanding, but not everyone in the world watches my streams, and not everyone loves me.

What was the reaction elsewhere? Half of me wanted to look it up, while the other half preferred to ignore it.

When was the last time I felt this nervous? I think it was when I first showed my face on camera. This was slightly less intense than that.

A big gulp of alcohol seemed to calm me down. Fear and anxiety are just tricks the brain plays. If things get unbearable, I’ll drown them in alcohol.

"We’ve done some practice sessions together before the official announcement. Daeun is a truly skilled player, and please continue supporting Sigma."

While I was drinking, Luche steered the conversation to a new topic. And… well.

Luckily, things went without a hitch. Luche glanced at Daeun, slumped over her desk.

At first, she seemed to pace herself well, but evidently, it got to her. An hour into the stream—starting around the time she brought up her leg—she’d been drinking too fast.

The result: Daeun was completely drunk.

Seeing things heading in a risky direction, Luche cut the stream. It saved their player from potential embarrassment… though now she had to deal with Daeun.

"Daeun, are you awake?"

A gentle tap, but Daeun didn’t stir.

There was no other option. She couldn’t leave her here, so she carefully lifted Daeun onto her back. Surprisingly, she wasn’t that heavy.

Just as they reached the elevator, Daeun murmured in her sleep.

"I’m sorry, Mom… I messed up… please come back…."

Tonight, nothing happened. She heard nothing, and Daeun was simply asleep. Ga-yun closed her eyes gently.
