Chapter 615: "Puhuhu! What Is Humility, Nya?!"

Black Tower, Floor 99

“Alright, we’ll do it that way.”

-Excellent. Here’s the advance payment.

In exchange for helping the Violet Tower transform, Tyr handed Sejun 1 trillion tower coins, 10 liters of dragon’s blood, 5,000 scales, and 1 kilogram of claws in advance.

Though not everything was strictly necessary, Sejun saw no reason to refuse such a generous offer.

If the Violet Tower completed its transformation, Tyr would pay Sejun an additional reward worth three times the advance, and the head of the Violet Tower would join Sejun Company as a full-time employee.

After receiving the advance payment, Sejun’s eyes gleamed.

“Puhuhu! Thank you, Tyr!” Theo graciously expressed his thanks to Tyr, a stark contrast from his earlier bold demands for “sincerity.”

After all, it takes a lot to be a negotiator.

-Drhahaha! Then, I’ll leave it in your capable hands.

“Don’t worry. With us, you can expect the Violet Tower to become the sixth tower to complete the transformation.”

Once Tyr had left, Theo immediately turned to Sejun, eager for validation.

“Puhuhu! Chairman, did I do well, nya?!”

“You did great.” Sejun praised him, patting his head affectionately.

“Puhuhu! I already knew I did well, nya! I’m the mighty Vice Chairman Theo!”

As Sejun continued to praise him, Theo’s pride soared.

“Yes, our Vice Chairman is very impressive.”

“Puhuhu! I’m so happy, nya!”

As Sejun scratched Theo’s head, Kuengi and Kamangi soon pushed their heads under Sejun’s hands, joining in on the petting session.

“Alright, alright.”

With both hands, Sejun petted all three, making them all purr in contentment.

Before long, the entire group had drifted into a peaceful nap, filled with happy dreams.

Gently placing Kamangi’s family into a sling bag and carefully holding Kuengi, Sejun stood up. Theo, who had attached himself to Sejun’s knee, required no extra handling.

As he made his way to deliver Kuengi to the Pink Fur Dragon, Sejun muttered, “Kuengi seems really tired today.”

The Pink Fur Dragon took Kuengi with a grateful rumble.

Kuong.

[Thank you, Sejun.]

“Come on, no need to thank me between us.”

As Sejun responded, he noticed an intense look in the Pink Fur Dragon’s eyes. A swirl of emotions—sadness, anger, resignation—reflected in its gaze, making it difficult to discern what it was truly feeling.

“Is something wrong, Pink Fur?”

Noticing the strange atmosphere, Sejun asked carefully.

Kuong-kuong.

[No, it’s nothing. Please, go and rest.]

Despite its response, Sejun couldn’t shake the feeling of unease as he walked back home under a cloudy, starless sky. But familiar surroundings and trusted allies eased his mind.

Soon after, Sejun prepared Bbatbbaet’s meal of fresh fruits.

As he finally lay his head on the pillow, he drifted into a deep sleep.

The Next Morning

Slurp.

“Let’s see now.”

After breakfast, Sejun sipped his coffee and looked over the list Tyr had handed him.

[Violet Tower Growth Conditions (2/8 Met)]

Where should I start?

Sejun reviewed the list of requirements for the Violet Tower’s growth.

World Energy required purification, so he set that aside. Creating 10 new crop varieties and expanding the entrances to 120 would take a lot of time, so he put those on hold as well.

The quickest way to get results is to focus on what I can do fast.

This narrowed his options down to four.

“Alright, let’s start with the easiest one.”

“Theo, bring out 13 sacred artifacts.”

“Puhuhu! Got it, nya!”

Theo reached into his satchel, but…

“Nya?!”

Three were missing!

There were only ten sacred artifacts in his bag.

I, Vice Chairman Theo, need three more sacred artifacts, nya! All deities, send three artifacts at once, nya!

Theo immediately put out an urgent request to Sejun Company’s deities.

[Merchant Deity Heller sends a Sacred Abacus of Instant Calculation.]

[Deity of Walnuts, Wol, sends Sacred Walnut Massager.]

[Axe Deity Buko sends Sacred Axe of Ultimate Strike.]

The gods hurriedly fulfilled Theo’s request, sending him three additional artifacts.

“Puhuhu! Chairman, here are your 13 sacred artifacts, nya!”

Theo, managing not to disappoint, expressed his gratitude.

Thanks, everyone, nya!

However, there was a reason the deities had responded so quickly to Theo’s request.

Just moments before,

[An urgent three-sacred artifact quest by Vice Chairman Park Theo has been posted.]

[<Admin> Heller the Merchant Deity: Puhuhu. Hands faster than eyes!]

[<Admin> Wol, the Deity of Walnuts: Oh! Success! Glad I’ve been waiting since yesterday!]

[<Admin> Axe Deity Buko: The essence of an axe is a single strike. Special offer on my secret skill book, One Strike One Kill, 10% off for all employees.]

[The urgent three-sacred artifact quest by Vice Chairman Park Theo has been fulfilled.]

Some gods who missed out on the quest expressed their regret in the company chat.

[<Admin> Rock Deity Toga from the Seed Store: Darn! Missed it!]

[<Admin> Spear Deity Spi from the Combat Store: So close!]

[<Admin> Sprout Deity Bud from the Seed Store: Of course, it had to happen while I was washing my face. 😭]

The reason for their disappointment was simple: welfare points. Completing Theo’s quest earned the deities valuable points they could use to purchase divine energy.

Welfare points exchanged for 1,000 divine energy each made even hastily-made sacred items worth it.

Meanwhile,

“Thanks, Theo. It seems the deities are working extra hard to provide sacred artifacts lately.”

“Puhuhu! It’s because the great hybrid Chairman Park is so impressive, nya!”

“No, it’s because you’re an outstanding Vice Chairman.”

“Puhuhu! That’s true, nya! I, Vice Chairman Theo, am indeed outstanding!”

“Wow, you’re completely shameless, huh?”

“Puhuhu! What is humility, nya?! I don’t know such a thing! Besides, Chairman Park, your face is rotting!”

“My face isn’t rotting!”

“Yes, it is, nya! Rotting—nyan!”

And so, the chairman and vice chairman of Sejun Company spent their time poking fun at each other in a lighthearted, if slightly petty, exchange.

After Sejun had his fill of playful vengeance, tugging Theo’s cheeks, he released him.

“Nnya…”

Theo, nursing his cheeks, clung to Sejun’s knee again.

“Tyr, here you go.”

Sejun quietly handed the 13 sacred artifacts to Tyr. Tyr had requested that Sejun keep the matter a secret from the other dragons.

“Does that fulfill the requirement?”

-Drhahaha! Yes, we’ve exceeded the required 15 sacred artifacts.

Confirming through the crystal sphere, Tyr chuckled in satisfaction.

“Now, with four out of the eight requirements complete…”

Sejun crossed off the line for “Possess 15 Sacred Artifacts” on the Violet Tower’s checklist.

The best solutions are often found on-site.

For the remaining tasks, Sejun decided it would be best to visit the Violet Tower directly.

“Alright, everyone!”

Sejun gathered his companions and transported them to the Violet Tower via a waypoint.

Violet Tower, Floor 99

Upon arrival,

“Welcome, Sejun.”

“Greetings…”

Veronica and a slender elf woman greeted Sejun.

Veronica greeted him warmly, while the elf woman, clearly there against her will, wore a sour expression.

What am I doing in a place like this?

The elf, Choba, the Violet Tower’s representative, felt extremely unlucky to be there.

Not only did she have to serve as Sejun’s subordinate, but she also had to oversee the tower’s growth.

Just then,

Clink.

“Puhuhu! Chairman Park, I missed you, nya!”

Theo leaped from his storage space, attaching himself to Sejun’s face.

Kueng!

Ngh!

Kuengi and Kamangi’s family soon emerged, eagerly leaping onto Sejun.

Maybe he’s a good person after all?

Seeing how beloved Sejun was by his companions, Choba felt a bit more at ease.

“Puhuhu! Violet Tower Representative, nice to meet you, nya! I am—”

Scary…

But as Theo introduced himself, playing with his stamp and chuckling mischievously, Choba’s anxieties quickly returned.

While Choba was consumed with dread for her future, Sejun addressed Veronica.

“Veronica, what’s the reason the poison purification rate here hasn’t exceeded 50%?”

This seemed like the simplest problem to solve.

“Well…”

Veronica explained.

Although Sejun’s purifying green onions had decontaminated most of the Violet Tower’s land, there was a lingering problem on Floor 66.

Despite repeated attempts, they couldn’t bring the percentage above 50%, and the poison kept spreading, gradually reducing the purification rate.

“We’ve thoroughly searched Floor 66 for a cause but found nothing.”

“Do you have the land document for Floor 66?”

“Yes, right here.”

Veronica handed the document to Sejun, prepared for the question.

“Alright, everyone, back in.”

Sejun ushered his companions into the storage space.

“I’ll head out now.”

With a parting wave, Sejun opened the map and disappeared.

“Will Sejun be alright?” Choba asked anxiously, fully aware of the dangers on Floor 66.

“Don’t worry. Vice Chairman Theo is with him.”

“Huh? That mischievous-looking cat?”

“Indeed. With Sejun and Theo together, there’s no issue they can’t resolve.”

“What?”

As Choba tried to process Veronica’s confidence in Sejun and Theo.

[Violet Tower, Floor 66: Arrival Confirmed]

Upon arrival,

You have been poisoned by lethal toxins.

You are in an invincible state.

You are immune to damage.

“Uh… Theo, give me the green onion!”

Clink.

Seeing the messages, Sejun quickly opened the storage space.

“Here you go, nya!”

Waiting at the entrance, Theo swiftly handed him the green onion.

No need to shove it into my mouth!

Crunch, crunch.

Sejun glared at Theo as he chewed the onion.

Vice Chairman Theo did nothing wrong, nya…

Theo averted his gaze while Sejun stewed.

Nggh!

[Butler! The Great Kamangi is going to die!]

Kamangi, poisoned and weak, called out to Sejun in desperation.
