Vandalieu Ark Hillwillow Solder Zakkart – Dhampir (Mother: Goddess), 13 years old, male

While enjoying a fulfilling life at the Adventurers’ School, he destroyed Rikudou Hijiri and his subordinates who got away in Origin, defeated the Demon King Guduranis, and now he effectively controls the capital city of the Orbaume Kingdom.

He personally finds the last point extremely regrettable; it was entirely unintentional and makes him want to clutch his head and shout, “Why did things end up like this?!” However, he refrains from doing so because he is aware that he brought this upon himself by helping Orbaume to the best of his ability, and he has now fully accepted it.

He charms the dead, various kinds of monsters, and some humans, but because he is actually critically lacking in the ability to make moves to grow closer to people, he ended up being a loner after he enrolled at the Hero Preparatory School, just like during his school life on Earth.

However, he encountered Elizabeth’s party by chance and approached them due to a misunderstanding, allowing him to find a place where he belonged at the school – as one of Elizabeth’s lackeys.

Perhaps gaining some confidence from this, he began teaching students and teachers alike, causing some of the teachers to treat him like one of their colleagues, and he brought his companions into the city, insisting that they were his familiars.

He has taken a confrontational stance towards Alex, an honors student who was one of the top candidates to graduate at the top of his year – not because Alex saw his Status with his Demon Eyes of Great Appraisal, but because he serves as an effective goal to motivate Elizabeth and the others in his party to improve and compare themselves against. In other words, it’s just posturing… He has a slightly negative impression of Alex because he previously looked down on Elizabeth and the others, but that’s it.

Ordinarily, Vandalieu’s actions wouldn’t have done more than causing some commotion at the Adventurers’ School and Tamers’ Guild, but a chain of events starting from one of his practical training sessions led to him meeting Amelia Sauron at the Hospital of Psychiatry, and after he grew closer to her, things progressed from there. And due to Duke Jahan making a visit to the hospital, he was able to learn of Prime Minister Tercatanis’s suspicious behavior, which eventually led to him crushing Rikudou Hijiri’s ambitions and destroying the Demon King Guduranis.

It seems that these events have reminded him of how important it is to make connections with people.

Due to the ‘Inner Worlds’ Skill that he gained from acquiring the ‘Qliphoth’ Job, he possesses ten worlds that exist inside his body, which are inhabited by the horde of Demons that were born through the pseudo-reincarnation of the countless spirits that are always floating around him, as well as Marshukzarl, the former emperor of the Amid Empire.

At the time of the battle against Rikudou, he had acquired enough power to fight while taking care to prevent catastrophic damage to the city at ground level and even attack Heinz’s party, the Five-colored Blades, at the same time.

He was forced to stop targeting the Five-colored Blades after Guduranis was resurrected, but even so, he possessed enough strength to fight the Demon King in head-on melee combat on equal terms – or even at an advantage. The battle would have likely favored Guduranis if his resurrection had been complete, but the former Demon King with an incomplete soul and body was unable to prevail over the True Demon King.

Vandalieu’s devouring of Guduranis in order to destroy him caused Heinz to suspect that he might one day be taken over by Guduranis and cause his resurrection, but the sensations Vandalieu felt at the time makes him feel certain that Guduranis has been completely destroyed… though there’s no evidence of this outside of those sensations, so there’s no way for him to convince those who don’t believe him.

However, this is of no relevance to Vandalieu as he intended to eventually kill Heinz and his companions anyway, no matter what they said.

Now that the battle has ended, he has been carrying out his plans to spread his guidance and the worship of Vida across the whole kingdom while carrying out the tasks necessary for the reconstruction and restoration of Orbaume.

In his private life, he is now expecting a child with the Moon Giant Deeana. This will be his third child after Bakunawa and Elizabeth (?!).

He is against being worshiped as a god by Nuaza in Talosheim and the pseudo-reincarnated Demons, but he doesn’t actually hate standing out. He is simply against being worshiped because he considers himself to be human.

Incidentally, with the removal of the distance limit between himself and his Demon King Familiars, he is now gaining Experience Points from a countless number of Demon King Familiars, and is planning to acquire a new Job soon.

・Demon King fragments in possession: Blood, horns, suction cups, ink sacs, carapace, scent glands, luminescent organs, fat, jaws, eyeballs, proboscis, fur, exoskeleton, jointed legs, antennae, claws, compound eyes, gills, sub-brain, tumors, blood vessels, tongue, lungs, fins, venom glands, bones, skin, treasure orb, demon eyes, nerves, stomach, membranes, wings, tentacles, shadow, scales, bone marrow, oviducts, silk glands, muscles, crystals, sweat glands, cnidocytes, mucus glands, spiracles, talons, nose (NEW!), sebaceous glands (NEW!), paw pads (NEW!), right arm (NEW!), left arm (NEW!), brain (NEW!), instinct (NEW!), memories (NEW!)

Pauvina Zakkart – Half-Noble Orc, 9 years old, female

A half-Noble Orc girl who enrolled at the Adventurers’ School known as the Hero Preparatory School together with Vandalieu. If her age is converted to human years, she is roughly fifteen; she is almost an adult by Lambda’s standards.

She achieved higher results than Vandalieu during the entrance exam, drawing attention for more reasons than just her physical characteristics (being three meters tall).

She has gained a new party member named Reinhardt, and became able to bring her close friends (Rapiéçage, Yamada, and Luvesfol) with her, so she was enjoying a very pleasant and comfortable school life.

During the Dark Avalon incident, her party was the only one at the Hero Preparatory School to be sent to fight outside the school, but that was because it was decided that it would be excessive to send them to clear the monsters in the school’s Dungeon so that it could be used as an emergency shelter.

Luvesfol’s seal was undone during battle against Guduranis, returning him to his original form, but Pauvina knows that it’s still Luvesfol, so she isn’t bothered… or rather, she’s trying to think of a way to allow him to walk around the city again, since he’s become too large for that now.

Perhaps because she gives commands to Luvesfol in battle, she has acquired the ‘Dragon User’ Job, then ‘Elder Dragon User,’ and finally ‘Dragon Princess.’

After Luvesfol’s seal was undone, she later noticed that she had gained ‘Luvesfol’s Divine Protection.’

Regarding Elizabeth, she thinks of her as a new niece.

Darcia Zakkart – Chaos Elf Source, 2 years old, female

Vandalieu and Pauvina’s mother. It is now publicly known in human society that she is the incarnation of Vida. She watches warmly as her children attend school and grow in various ways, and she performs on stage for nobles, using her transformation equipment to transform.

She fought for extended lengths of time with Vida descended upon her body. This is only possible because a new body was created for her and because she was summoned to Vida’s Divine Realm in a soul-only state, where she spent time with Vida.

With both her mind and body optimized to become Vida’s vessel, she has become a more perfect vessel for Vida than anyone would normally think possible.

However, her personality still remains her own, and that does not change even when she is acting as Vida’s vessel.

Thus, she is able to summon Vida upon herself for far longer than Heinz is able to do the same with Bellwood.

After the Dark Avalon incident, she has become revered by the people as Vida’s incarnation, and this is one of the reasons that they regard her son Vandalieu as a holy being as well.

Eisen – Skogsrå Great Empress, ? years old, female

A familiar of Vandalieu who bound him with her vines. In Orbaume, she lives in Silkie Zakkart Mansion’s garden, and reigns as an older sister figure for the Jubokko and the Deep Blood Sucker gardeners.

With the sweet juice made from her sap, she charmed not only the students at the Hero Preparatory School, but nobles as well. However, because she resides in Silkie’s garden, and because Silkie is well-known to be a haunted mansion, nobody attempts to lay a hand on her… It seems that she has caused several inquiries directed at the Tamers’ Guild, asking whether it was possible to tame plant-type monsters.

Even if it were possible to tame plant-type monsters, it is unlikely that they would produce sap of the same quality as Eisen, who is a Rank 13 monster, a being considered to have reached the realm of gods.

She has gone from being a Skogsrå Empress to a Skogsrå High Empress and finally a Skogsrå Great Empress, but – Oh my, Eisen is…

Isla – Vampire Chain Lord Zombie, approximately 30,000 years old, female

The one who coined the name ‘Dark Avalon’ and is responsible for Rikudou being known by that name. She has been enjoying life in Orbaume, participating in Vandalieu’s practical training at the Hero Preparatory School with a collar around her neck as one of his familiars and walking around the city with him.

She played the role of ‘Transforming’ into Prime Minister Tercatanis to lead King Corbitt and his subjects to safety and protect them, but because Rikudou Hijiri carried out a plan more extreme than expected and unleashed monsters upon Orbaume, she was forced to keep protecting them for a while.

Thus, until her true identity became revealed, King Corbitt and his subjects witnessed a prime minister who remained calm and fearless despite the numerous monsters that appeared.

Disguising oneself as a noble and acting as a body double without that noble’s permission would normally be considered a severe crime that can even carry the death penalty, but in this case, Isla’s crime has been overlooked.

… Even if Rikudou Hijiri hadn’t let monsters loose inside Orbaume and the situation hadn’t become so serious, the fact that she wasn’t the real prime minister being revealed was part of the plan. However, the plan was to also reveal to the king and his subjects that the prime minister had been a national traitor who collaborated with Rikudou Hijiri. It seemed that Vandalieu planned to offer to keep that a secret in exchange for making it so that this incident never happened.

If this offer was refused, he would have considered immediately retreating to the Alcrem Duchy, announcing the existence of the Demon Empire of Vidal and its alliance with the Alcrem Duchy, and taking a hostile stance against the Orbaume Kingdom. (It seemed that he intended to unite with the Jahan Duchy later on in this scenario.)

In any case, the choice of abandoning Isla to maintain ties was not an option for Vandalieu, and it seems that this has made Isla’s loyalty to him, which had already been as high as it could be, transcend its limits.

Regarding the resurrected Guduranis, she is a little disappointed in herself for having been a worshiper of one of the subordinates of that black, covered-in-noses man while she was still alive. She and Eleanora see eye to eye on this matter.

Regarding the reconstruction and restoration of Orbaume, she has put together a vigilante force. With them accompanying her, she flies around the night sky with her executioner’s sword in hand to maintain public order.

She is currently Level 100, but her Rank has not yet increased to 14. Perhaps she has yet to fulfill some condition, or perhaps the gods who manage Ranks are telling her, “It is not yet time.”

Oh my, Isla is…

Eleanora – Abyssal Vampire Princess Knight, 16 years old (20 years old in appearance), female

The first Vampire to be recognized as a familiar by the Tamers’ Guild in the Orbaume Kingdom. The sight of her walking around proudly with a familiar’s collar around her neck apparently startled many passers-by on the streets.

After Rikudou unleashed a horde of monsters upon Orbaume, she used her ‘Demon Eyes of Charming’ to charm nobles in the nobles’ district who seemed reluctant to evacuate, making them board Sam’s carriage. As a result, it seems that she has inadvertently gained a certain number of fans among the nobles who reside in the nobles’ district.

Her improvement was slower than Isla’s because she was late to join the main battle due to being busy evacuating the people after Rikudou Hijiri unleashed monsters upon the city.

Bellmond – Abyssal Vampire Imperial Butler, approximately 10,000 years old, female

She entered Orbaume as Vandalieu’s butler, but she later re-entered the city as one of his Vampire familiars. She works as a butler at Silkie Zakkart Mansion and performs duties such as directing the new servants in their tasks.

The mansion has a complicated layout and many contraptions that hinder those residing in it, so it seems that it took some time for her to become accustomed to living in it.

After the reconstruction and restoration of Orbaume began, she also began working as a secretary for Vandalieu, and currently spends her time at his side waiting for an opportunity to have him suck her blood.

Gufadgarn – Evil God of Labyrinths, ? years old, female

The evil god who constantly exists behind Vandalieu. She was with him constantly – while he attended the Hero Preparatory School, while he was at the Hospital of Psychiatry, and even during times where he didn’t give her any orders in particular.

However, her attention is fixed on Vandalieu, so even Randolf and Meorilith do not normally detect her presence. One wouldn’t expect anything less from the evil god who lurks behind Vandalieu – the most powerful backer one could hope for.

She saw Guduranis after his resurrection, but she no longer viewed him as a superior as she once did; she recognized him as an enemy of Vandalieu and nothing more, feeling no deep emotions in particular towards him.

Even after the reconstruction and restoration of Orbaume began, she continued to generally stay behind Vandalieu – though she couldn’t follow him to Origin.

Upon learning that Deeana now bears Vandalieu’s child, she wondered whether she could do the same herself, as she possesses a physical body even if it is only a vessel. But if she did succeed in bearing his child, it would hinder her ability to remain behind him, so she has put that idea on hold.

It seems that she has no intention of attempting this, at least until Vandalieu kills Heinz or expresses a wish for her to do so.

Incidentally, she has inconspicuously increased her Rank, going from being an Evil God’s Vessel to a Great Evil God’s Vessel.

Silkie Zakkart Mansion – Specter Mansion, ? years old, female

The most open haunted mansion in the world, which has yet to gain the ability to fly. She is also known as the Demon Emperor’s villa. Her living environment (as the one being lived in) has undergone changes, such as Elizabeth and Mahelia moving in, but she is handling it well… or she thinks she is, at least.

Vandalieu has taken a liking to the various contraptions in the mansion, calling them “interesting.” (Examples include entrances to hidden rooms that are revealed when a medal bearing an emblem is placed in a certain spot and doors that can’t be opened or closed unless an ornament is placed in a certain location). Thus, complaints about them from anyone other than him are completely ignored. There are also still several contraptions that Vandalieu hasn’t discovered yet.

Exploring to find these is something that Vandalieu enjoys, and being explored brings Silkie joy.

When Rikudou Hijiri unleashed monsters upon the city of Orbaume, Silkie’s neighbors in the upper-class nobles’ district were (forcibly) evacuated and sheltered within her premises.

Those who were panicking uncontrollably were stuffed inside unused dressers or wooden boxes, or bound by vines in more places than just their hands in order to calm them down – exactly the hospitality one might expect from a cursed mansion. Those who were calm or just trembling in fear were welcomed in more normal ways.

After the incident, Silkie has been serving as accommodation for Vandalieu’s friends and acquaintances. Tadano Nezumi and the rest of the mice have also moved in now that their work is complete. Ordinarily, one would avoid housing Demon Mice in their home, but it seems that Silkie does not mind, as she is a cursed mansion that was once inhabited by Undead Rats and such… though there is also the fact that Tadano and the others pay attention to hygiene and live tidily in their nest boxes.

However, it seems that Silkie has recently started to fear that she’ll be made the Embassy of the Demon Empire of Vidal in Orbaume. As she wishes to continue to be Vandalieu’s villa, she must acquire the ability to fly and relocate herself, no matter what it takes. The mansion is constantly creaking as her efforts towards this goal continue.

Her Rank has increased; she has progressed from being a Rank 6 High Silkie to a Rank 7 Ghost House, then a Rank 8 Big Ghost House, and now a Rank 9 Specter Mansion.

Legion – Eclipse Dark Moon Legion, 4 years old, ?

The massive literal ball of flesh that appeared in the skies above Orbaume. They were one of the most grotesque beings there, even compared to the monsters that flooded the city, but they were on the side that protected the people.

They came face to face once more with Rikudou, the mastermind who had written the script for their deaths in Origin, but he transformed into Guduranis during the battle. Still, they feel somewhat satisfied after seeing Rikudou’s destruction with their own eyes.

They played an important role in the battle, shielding Luvesfol from attacks by enveloping him in their flesh and fighting against the artificial spirits. And because they also played a role in the evacuation of the people, the people have a mixed view on them – some fear them and others are fond of them.

Randolf – Elf, over 300 years old, male

The S-class adventurer whose true identity has finally been revealed to Vandalieu and his companions. Because he had been temporarily hired as a teacher at the Hero Preparatory School at Meorilith’s request, he was forced to confront Vandalieu in order to protect Alex, deal with all kinds of troubles, do things that drew attention to himself, and fight against Guduranis and his pawns. He clearly isn’t being paid enough.

He generally considers himself to be at fault for not foreseeing incidents occurring as he carried out Meorilith’s request, but he does complain to himself on the inside: How could anyone foresee that they would have to fight Guduranis?

After the forest where he was born turned into a Devil’s Nest, he swore that he would reclaim it and trained to attain the strength to do so. But he gave up on this goal when the nobles and the people of the Church opposed his project to purify his corrupted homeland, prioritizing the profits that could be gained from the monsters that could be hunted and the resources that could be harvested from the Devil’s Nest.

As a result of these events in his past, Randolf became an atheist (someone who follows the philosophy of not praying to or relying on any god), and with his goal lost, he lost interest in working as an adventurer.

However, during the recent incident, he openly fought against high-Rank monsters and helped the people evacuate, leading to people learning who he really was. Publicly, he is considered to have come out of retirement, and he has decided to give up on his retired lifestyle.

However, he has no intention of serving as an adventurer of the Orbaume Kingdom; he has clearly stated to King Corbitt and his subjects that he is on Vandalieu’s side. Once his work as a temporary teacher at the Hero Preparatory School is finished, he plans to dedicate his time to performing with musical instruments on stage with Kanako and the others.

He played stringed instruments such as the lute when he disguised himself as a traveling bard named Rudolf, but his preferred instrument is the drum.

He regards Vandalieu highly, but he respects Kanako even more as a musician and an artist, and he had been guided to her Artistic Path… He will later be fully guided to Vandalieu’s Yin Path and Miriam’s Heroic Path. He is not just following a trend; he simply happens to find himself in an unusual environment that is filled with Guiders despite the Age of Mythology having passed long ago.

Incidentally, the magic sword he was given during the battle against the Demon King Guduranis is made from Vandalieu’s bones (bones of the Demon King).

Meorilith – Elf, two centuries and some decades old, female

A former A-class adventurer who is the principal of the Hero Preparatory School. Although she isn’t a noble, some of her students are children from noble families, so she is considered to be more influential than the average noble.

Until recently, her biggest trouble was the fact that there was an extraordinary being among her students who brought high-Rank monsters and members of Vida’s races into the school, claiming that they were his familiars. He even had passionate support from some of the teaching staff and made appearances at staff meetings.

Her current biggest trouble is that this extraordinary being turned out to be quite extraordinary indeed – someone with the ‘Demon King Slayer’ and ‘Savior’ Titles who reigns as the emperor of a nation known as the Demon Empire of Vidal – and his refusal to graduate from the school.

She wishes she could just throw a graduation certificate at him and be done with it, but Vandalieu now effectively controls Orbaume and intends to use his influence to continue his school life, so she can’t do anything about it.

It isn’t that she finds him particularly unpleasant. She is simply troubled, wondering what her Hero Preparatory School could possibly teach a hero whose tremendous achievements surpass those of the champion Bellwood.

Incidentally, she has not actually met Kanako yet.

Orlock Twiss – Human, 59 years old, male

The Guild Master of the Tamers’ Guild in Orbaume. At first, he was subjected to many troubles by Vandalieu and his companions, but he now has a very friendly relationship with them.

When Rikudou Hijiri unleashed monsters upon Orbaume, he defiantly misused his authority to approve Borkus, Knochen, Cuatro, Yamato, and Rapiéçage as familiars as they teleported into the city one after another. When the Church of Alda criticized him for this, he shouted back at them that it was necessary to take measures that go beyond the rules.

He intended to take responsibility for this recklessness by resigning from his position after the incident was over, but Vandalieu dissuaded him from doing so and the Church of Alda remained silent on the matter, so he still remains in the position of Guild Master.

He is currently considering forgetting about his responsibilities and giving in to his curiosity to go around and examine Vandalieu and the monsters in the Demon Empire of Vidal.

Reinhardt Saisaris – Human, 12 years old, male

A boy from the Saisaris house of barons who got into an argument with Vandalieu and Pauvina during the entrance examinations held at the Hero Preparatory School in March, which resulted in him becoming Pauvina’s underling. Perhaps because he’s the youngest son of a baron’s house that is poor and insignificant, he projected his ego by over-emphasizing the fact that he is a noble. But after sensing the difference in strength between himself and the immensely powerful Pauvina, he has come to worship her.

At the Hero Preparatory School, he is in the same class as Pauvina and second-in-command in their party. Although he did not have any Unique Skills (at least, none when he first became a student at the school), he is actually quite a talented youth. If Pauvina hadn’t been there, it’s possible that Alex would have tried to recruit him instead of her.

Although it is in part due to the harsh training imposed on him by Pauvina and Vandalieu, he has already gained strength equivalent to that of a C-class adventurer.

Incidentally, the average student at the Hero Preparatory School is generally about as strong as a veteran D-class adventurer when they graduate (after two years at the school). The main weapon or magic Skill they use is generally around Level 4 and they are usually on their fourth Job.

He gets along well with Pauvina’s familiar Luvesfol as well, forging a friendship that transcends race, and it seems that this friendship is continuing strong despite Luvesfol having regained his true form.
