"She actually has the Swift Swimmer trait!"

Looking at Water Luriana's page in the Beast Master Codex, Qiao Sang felt a surge of surprise and excitement.

Among the numerous weather-related traits, none pair better with rain than Swift Swimmer, which doubles speed in rainy conditions.

This trait is so renowned that it's almost indispensable in rain-focused teams, a staple for Beast Masters in team and doubles competitions.

Most professional Beast Masters involved in team matches form their rosters around carefully planned tactical frameworks, often contracting creatures with specific traits to match the strategy.

Rain teams, for example, rely on rain effects as their main tactic and are a popular choice in team compositions.

Qiao Sang’s gaze continued downward.

"Aside from Healing Light, all other skills are only at the Intermediate level."

After working with her two overpowered creatures, Yabao and Little Treasure, her expectations for her creatures had naturally risen.

But Qiao Sang could understand. Though Water Luriana was already seven years old, she hadn’t benefited from any enhancements before contracting, so she’d known she didn’t have high potential.

Given the comparison with other skills, Healing Light reaching the Mastery level was a pleasant surprise.

Every Beast Master knows that a healing skill at the Mastery level qualifies one to work in a hospital.

Although healing skills are support-based, they're among the most valuable of all skills.

Whether in team battles or expeditions into secret realms, any Beast Master party recruits at least one healer.

In fact, if assembling a team, most would prefer a D-rank Beast Master with a healing creature over a C-rank without one.

But... what exactly does Healing Light do?

Qiao Sang stared at the skill for a while, recalling only that Water Luriana’s Healing Light had restored Yabao when he was injured. However, she wasn’t sure about the exact percentage of recovery.

Each healing skill has unique effects; the most common is simply Healing.

As for Healing Light, she hadn’t heard much about it.

Resolving to find out, Qiao Sang quickly exited her mental space and grabbed her phone to search online.

Soon, the webpage displayed her answer:

"Healing Light, an Advanced skill, can heal all illnesses and negate skill-induced negative effects. With high proficiency, it can even restore lost limbs."

"This move is a hereditary skill among specific species and cannot be learned later on. Beast Masters should take note."

Qiao Sang's pupils contracted sharply.

What?! An Advanced skill?!

She’d vaguely suspected this might be the case when she read about Water Luriana’s ability to restore lost limbs with gemstones, but to see it confirmed still left her deeply shaken.

An Advanced skill!

A true Advanced skill!

Many Beast Masters go their entire lives without seeing their creatures learn even one Advanced skill.

With this, she could drop out of school and apply for a head position at any hospital!

Qiao Sang set down her phone and lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling.

An Advanced skill...

With this, even if Water Luriana’s potential is low and she's getting old, she's worth contracting, rare or not.

The next morning, Qiao Sang woke an hour earlier than usual and went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

“Xun…”

Little Treasure, abruptly pulled from his virtual reality helmet, rubbed his sleepy eyes and looked at the busy Qiao Sang with a puzzled cry.

Why up so early?

Qiao Sang, her movements sluggish under dark eye circles, smiled and said, "You must be tired of milk and energy pellets. Today, I’ll make something different for you."

"Xun!"

Little Treasure’s eyes brightened, but then quickly shook his head to signal he hadn’t gotten tired of them.

While Qiao Sang’s cooking wasn’t exactly intolerable, the comparison with milk and energy pellets made it hard to enjoy her food. After experiencing those, eating her cooking again felt like torture!

Unaware of Little Treasure’s true thoughts, Qiao Sang assumed it didn’t want her to go through the trouble and said, “It’s okay if you’re not tired of it. I haven’t cooked in a while, and Water Luriana hasn’t tried my cooking yet.”

With Water Luriana in mind, she sped up her movements.

Seeing it was no use to dissuade her, Little Treasure glanced around, teleporting to wake up the sleeping Yabao to try persuading Qiao Sang.

"Xun!"

"Xun!"

Little Treasure poked at Yabao with a tiny claw.

Yabao, drooling in his sleep, didn’t move an inch.

"Xun xun."

Little Treasure pouted, then suddenly giggled as he had an idea.

Forty minutes later.

At the table.

Yabao stared at the food before him with a look of despair.

"Lu!"

Water Luriana, on the other hand, appeared intrigued, and without a word, took a bite.

“...Lu…”

Her expression froze.

She hesitantly glanced at Qiao Sang, who smiled and encouraged her to continue, then reluctantly took another bite.

Watching Water Luriana, Qiao Sang felt a swell of pride.

After school, she’d find the vice principal to draft a training plan for Water Luriana, she would probably be switching to energy pellets soon.

“Yabao, why aren’t you eating?” Qiao Sang suddenly asked, turning to him.

“Yap…”

Yabao froze in place.

“Not to your taste? Just give it a try; look, Little Treasure is eating so…” She trailed off, narrowing her eyes at the ghost.

“Little Treasure, why are you using Substitute?”

The real Little Treasure, who had been secretly sipping milk on the side, froze.
