It was obvious—they needed to catch the criminal.  

The northern region was infamous for being home to only two types of people: knights and criminals. This well-known Imperial saying highlighted how the harsh terrain served as an ideal refuge for fugitives. The vast, rugged, and sparsely populated land made it a perfect place to hide.  

Catching such criminals was one of the responsibilities of knightly families.  

“Wouldn’t Ziclin be satisfied if we brought her back a criminal?”

“Dream on. My sister wouldn’t be impressed by something like that.”
