This year feels like it’s going to be a good one. After all, I’ve been worked to the bone so far—surely even Enen has some conscience and will send blessings to outsiders eventually.

I was happy. It felt like all the blessings I had missed out on before had come flooding in at once, bringing one unexpected stroke of luck after another. If no one had been around, I might’ve done flips in every direction, roaring my joy to the heavens. Not just in four directions—eight directions, even.

Perhaps that’s why Laterre looked especially charming today.
