The Rage Howlers that inhabited this place were monsters that looked like a cross between apes and monkeys, known for their immense strength, high intelligence, and strong sense of camaraderie.

It was the perfect hideout for shady individuals.
Rage Howlers often looted equipment from Hunters and, with their intelligence, learned how to wield those weapons.
The older and more experienced a Rage Howler was, the more versatile and precise its attacks became—almost comparable to a Hunter’s skills.
So why was this Gate infamous?
