Its appearance was sudden.
The sky hadn't been dyed red, and no demon had appeared to cause a ruckus. It simply appeared one day and stood before the kingdom.

Despite the lack of grand effects, the mere appearance of the being was enough to impose an overwhelming presence.
Its body was made of flesh without skin, with a grotesque face and an extraordinarily large frame. It moved, wriggling and grotesque in appearance.
It was an unknown creature, but people would now refer to such horrifying and monstrous beings with one term.
A demon.

As the kingdom's knight saw the being, he rushed forward.

"Damn... how is it that this demon comes from our side? We need to hold out while gathering the extermination troops!"

While the empire's knights were the strongest, that didn't mean the knights of other nations were weak.
