Had I ever encountered a dimensional creature that could speak?
Well...
Maybe those creatures had attempted to speak before, producing sounds like “grr-rr-rr” or “k-wah-wah!” but it was never anything close to actual communication.
I could say with certainty that I had never heard a dimensional creature converse or communicate in any meaningful way.
“Why are you acting like this?”
But the creature before me was undoubtedly speaking.
“Are you hurt? ...That would be problematic.”
