On the afternoon of February 9th, in the martial arts arena of the Jiang clan's earthen fort.
Whoosh!
A large head flew into the sky, the decapitated, aging corpse of the man named "Jiang Baiqing" collapsed onto the stage. A middle-aged man, shaking the blood from his blade, descended from the arena amidst the cheering crowd. Jiang Hanqing had escaped from the clan during the second year of the tribe's life-or-death battles. He returned nine months ago, carrying a heart full of repentance, and had repeatedly climbed the stage since then.
"Ten matches are finished today. We'll fight again next month," announced Lei Hong from the high platform on the north side of the arena, then stood up and left.
This month's three-day series of life-and-death battles had ended.
For both the Jiang clan and the Shentu clan, it was a rather uneventful outcome. The Jiang clan sent a congenital warrior, while the Shentu clan sent weak and sickly old men to their deaths. The two sides had reached a strange tacit understanding.
The Shentu clan, who had been watching the battle, was now preparing to leave.
