In 1995 of the Crimson Emperor Calendar, eight years had passed since the tragic incident in Bruenier in 1987.
In a solemn cemetery located in the Bruenier region, on the eastern border of the Siwa Federation, the gray sky hung low, filling the air with a solemn and heavy atmosphere.
A towering monument stood in the center of the cemetery. In front of the monument, the annual hero comfort ceremony was taking place. Hundreds of ceremonial soldiers were lined up neatly, dressed in black uniforms, holding their military caps with reverence, their heads lowered as they stood motionless at either side of the procession.
Their expressions were grave, their eyes sharp, staring straight ahead. Statues and gravestones beneath them were etched with the names of the deceased, symbolizing the innocent lives lost. Standing in the solemn procession, wearing matching black mourning clothes, they silently stood before the monument.
This tragedy had occurred eight years ago, and this was the eighth year that the ceremony had been held. Yet, when the commander loudly declared the official start of the ceremony, the feelings of sorrow and mourning continued to uncontrollably surge.
The oppressive atmosphere made it almost impossible to breathe.
Amidst this somber environment, the important figures of the Federation, each dressed in tailored black ceremonial robes, solemnly walked up to the monument one by one. Each time a person approached, their gaze would momentarily freeze, and they would carefully lift the bouquet in their hands. They would solemnly place it before the monument, then close their eyes for a brief but profound prayer.
