The music, which had seemed like it would never end, finally came to a stop.
We took a step away from each other and exchanged a polite farewell. It was the perfect conclusion to what had been left unfinished in the ballroom last night.
"Shall we head back now?"
"Yeah, let’s. In the end, we just spent time without accomplishing anything."
Aiden and I slowly started walking toward the carriage storage. We avoided the crowded streets, taking a side path instead.
