Gable followed the man as he stood up from the sofa after setting down the newspaper. Just as he started to move, the man hesitated and fell silent again. Then, after a moment of thought, his expression suddenly twisted into a scowl. Gable raised one eyebrow, pretending not to notice and watched him carefully.

“...Tell the owner here to feed that bastard first. He said he’s starving.”

Gable was silent for a moment after the rough words, then replied, “Understood.” He told the man to stay in the room and went to the kitchen to pass the message to the housekeeper. Having spent quite some time here, Gable had become somewhat friendly with her. She smiled gently and said, “Of course,” then immediately headed down to the first floor.

Grabbing a few cans of beer, Gable headed back to the room, tilting his head slightly.

Thinking to himself, life sure throws all kinds of things at you.

The business was finished in less than five minutes.

It wasn’t much—just updates on various global affairs and Kyle’s policies or predictions related to them.
