After leaving Hong Kong, he hadn’t been to any place that could be called a big city. Since then, he’d been mostly trapped in Selinge.
Jeong Tae-ui scratched his head and looked around. What he was looking for was across the bathroom — the minibar. More precisely, the beer stocked in the minibar.
He grabbed a beer and returned to the window. Sitting on the windowsill, he gazed blankly down at the cityscape.
With his head foggy and slow, he popped the pull-tab and quickly drank half the can. After a while, he felt a bit more awake.
“I wonder if I’m getting alcohol poisoning... Eh, beer’s hardly strong enough for that, right?”
Besides, thinking carefully, ever since being trapped in Selinge — or more exactly, locked in Raman’s villa — he hadn’t even seen beer. Maybe it tasted better because it had been so long. He looked at the can, which bore a brand unfamiliar to him. Soon after, he set the empty can on the windowsill and moved away.
If this was a hotel in a big city, there was no need to wonder where it was. No need to call the front desk.
