When the apocalypse ended and the System vanished, everything that had appeared after the Day of the Rift disappeared from the world as well. People gradually adapted to their altered daily lives. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that the world had returned to how it was before the Day of the Rift. Even so, more than ten years had passed, and the new trajectories of life built during that time remained intact.

Some had lost loved ones, some had lost their jobs, and some had seen their lives completely overturned. Whether it appeared or disappeared, the System left behind scars that could not be erased.

On a day when people were still struggling to adapt to their changed lives, the ones responsible for erasing the System were—

“Why are you insisting on washing dishes by hand? I said I’d get you a dishwasher. An industrial one.”

“There’s no space.”

They were in the middle of an argument at the hangover-soup shop.

The old wall clock pointed to ten o’clock. Lee Sa-young, the source of the argument, was wearing pink rubber gloves and scrubbing earthenware pots with vigorous strokes. Cha Uijae wiped down a table and replied.
