“Have any of you… seen Um?”

As she spoke, Claudia stood up and walked toward Um’s cage.

The couple stopped their banter as well and followed her gaze.

Sure enough, Um was gone.

“It was still here before we went to the care unit.”

Rosvisser walked over too, crouching in front of the cage. She brushed aside a strand of her silver hair and pointed at the pieces of fruit in the pet bowl.

“I even fed it before we left.”
