All along, what made the Sympathists so terrifying was, in large part, their absurd “sharing” mechanism.
Shared memories. Shared consciousness. Shared vision. And all of it synchronized in real time—perfectly.
One of the advantages this gave them was that, under the enhancement of their imprint, they could instantly acquire the knowledge and skills of tens of thousands of followers. With that alone, they could already keep up for a few exchanges in battle.
It was hard to imagine just how terrifying the improvement would be if someone at Odin’s level were fully assimilated.
The other source of pressure was although the Sympathists created endless trouble for Leon, he still couldn’t strike directly at them.
Because all of those people had been forced into becoming Sympathists. Before their transformation, they were innocent.
Which meant that unless they found the true power holders behind the Church, Leon and the others would always remain at a disadvantage.
