# Player with Maxed-Out Talent, Episode 67

I held the phone to my ear, though no call was coming in. To the eyes of others, Senia wasn’t visible. If I spoke out loud to myself, I’d look insane, so I pretended to be on the phone while conversing with her. I walked towards home.

Senia was the first to speak.

“I inform you that my channel is currently closed.”

In other words, the Guardians aren’t watching us right now. Senia seemed to have diligently learned what I had previously taught her.

When you deliver the same content in the same way, it loses its novelty and excitement. As a BJ, it’s all about broadcasting to the Guardians in a slightly different way, with different patterns.

“It seems you’re suggesting some sort of coordination for tomorrow’s event.”

“I’m merely considering various methods of presentation.”

Right, that’s the way to go.

‘Just throwing the Guardians some curiosity for now.’

It’s an ‘artificial gathering’ created by humans within the Korean server, different from the system-generated play. There are likely many Guardians who would be interested in seeing it, even more so if there was some kind of conflict or dispute.

‘That’s where you cut the video.’

This tactic is often referred to among BJs as ‘Cutting Magic’ or ‘Severing Divine Technique,’ but right now, it’s about when the concept isn’t quite established.

‘I’ll amplify their curiosity and then resume the broadcast tomorrow.’

Along with that, there are a few things I want to discuss with Senia now. It’s just what I had been hoping for.

‘Senia, you’ve grown a lot.’

It seems like just yesterday she couldn’t even squeak by BJ Neptune. Her instincts have sharpened, and she seems like she could make it on her own.

“Did you meet with player Shin Yeon-seo to draw me out?”

“That’s right. Since Shin Yeon-seo was with Roa.”

She has gotten quite clever, catching on to why I met with Shin Yeon-seo.

“There must be a reason.”

I nodded in agreement.

“As you know, tomorrow the players’ gathering will take place. It’s not a scenario set by the system, just a choice made by humans in response to the transformed world.”

Our conversation continued for about an hour.

“That’s understood. Your analysis and prediction based on prophetic dreams are overly detailed, though.”

Senia looked somewhat skeptical. I had given her many tips during our hour-long talk. I told her everything that would happen tomorrow, and what she needed to do.

“Look further ahead. Don’t focus on the fragmentary issues. It’s better to predict what might happen by considering the overall situation. That way, you can create higher-quality content.”

Senia seemed lost for words. Nevertheless, our conversation concluded well. Senia has her duties, and now, as a player, all I need to do is play well.

DMC Riverview Xi.

Before I knew it, I had arrived at home. Somehow, it seemed Senia had ended up escorting me.

“Understood. We’ll see if player Kim Hyuk-jin’s scenario is correct.”

It sounded a bit like a warning. Maybe because I talked to Senia as if I were teaching her. She could well be offended. But what can I do? Although she’s improved, she’s still a rookie BJ. From the perspective of someone who has experienced ten years ahead, she’s still an inadequate BJ. There’s so much to teach.

“You seem a little doubtful.”

So I provoked her.

“Wanna bet?”

“If you’re scared, don’t bother.”

“Are you trying to provoke me?”

Well, yes, that’s the idea.

“Think whatever you like.”

After a long consideration, Senia said, “What will the bet be?”

Our angel Senia took the bait perfectly.

“Let me browse the intermediate-grade item store.”

Of course, that’s not possible. My level is still 30. You need to be over level 40 to access the intermediate-grade item store. I’m aware I can’t do it.

“That’s an unreasonable demand. It’s not possible.”

“What about just one time?”

By throwing an unrealistic offer first, the next bet I placed was something achievable.

“That’s…”

“If you dislike it, never mind.”

“I accept.”

That’s it. I knew you’d accept.

“What do you want?”

“I’ll tell you if I win the bet.”

I almost laughed. No need to hear it, as I’ll win the bet anyway. I took the elevator upstairs. The elevator arrived at the 10th floor.

Ding!

– The door opens.

Apartment 1004. My home. Where mom, my sister, and Sunhwa are waiting. Suddenly, I felt good. The feeling of building my future little by little was achievement, challenge, and the pleasure of returning home.

Every time I look at our home, it feels new.

‘Let’s do well tomorrow, Senia.’

* * *

The ‘Player Association’ created under the leadership of Seong Shin was located in DMC, Digital Media City, within walking distance from my house.

‘As expected, there’s an association here too.’

In time, it becomes a government agency, but even then, the building remains the same.

‘It’s officially a government agency, but there were many rumors that it was actually under Seong Shin’s influence.’

After seeing Kim Gang-cheol, I could tell the rumors were true. It’s not really my concern, but still, it’s a bit bitter to think about it. There’s a reason it’s called ‘Seong Shin Republic.’

‘They are going to do the ranking measurement today, too.’

By future standards, the way they measure ranking is absurd. The ‘player grade’ they determine now is basically meaningless.

‘The concept of a talent card isn’t even established yet.’

There’s no concept of a talent card, no concept of magic. They evaluate grades based on physical or muscular elements, like running and grip strength. They measure abilities like evaluating an athlete’s ability, which is ridiculous by future standards.

“Yes, I will not participate in the grade examination.”

“The grade examination can work in the player’s favor. A high grade can bring significant benefits. Even a low rating carries no disadvantage.”

“That’s okay.”

“Are you fine being assigned a grade F if you don’t participate?”

“Yes, I’m fine.”

A grade that will soon be discarded is not of my concern. I’m not here to run long distances or do push-ups.

“Hyungnim! I got an A!”

“Me too!”

As expected, both Mar Sang-hyun and Shin Yeon-seo received A grades from the very beginning. The people who are meant to succeed are different. Sunhwa also took the exam and received a C grade.

Current time: 2:20 PM.

The official meeting starts at 3 PM. The 12th-floor grand auditorium is already bustling. We decided to wait briefly at the café on the first floor.

“It’s okay, it’s okay.”

I patted gloomy Sunhwa’s head. After all, how would they assess her tanking ability and skills? Can they stab her arm with a knife or hit her head with a hammer? No, that’s impossible. This result was expected.

“I’m an F, anyhow.”

Refusal to take the exam results in F — it’s not a lie. I wonder what grade I would get?

‘I think I’d probably get an A.’

I’m not sure. I’ve never been interested in such a pointless grading system.

“Really? You’re also an F, Oppa?”

Shin Yeon-seo and Mar Sang-hyun both looked surprised.

“No way. You can’t be F.”

“That doesn’t make sense, Hyungnim!”

Of course, it doesn’t make sense. A smile crept across my face involuntarily.

“It doesn’t make sense because they measure with a ridiculous method, awarding high grades only to combat class players.”

Sunhwa seemed comforted by my words and started happily sipping her ‘iced chocolate’. The shock of grade C seemed to be forgotten with the taste of chocolate.

Shin Yeon-seo laughed broadly.

“That’s right. What’s the point? If you received F, that explains everything. The grading system is definitely flawed. A monster like Kim Hyuk-jin getting F? Ugh, I…
