28.3. All That’s Well Ends Well! Isn’t It?

Upon returning to his mansion, Zaid immediately shouted.
 “Call Jabir! Right away!”
“Jabir, sir? She’s in the middle of her research…”
“Just tell her it’s about the Elixir!”
“The Elixir?”
“Tell her it’s the legendary Cure Potion! Whether it’s genuine or not, I need her to check it! That research freak will come out gladly even for this!”
“Y-Yes!”
The servant rushed out in a panic.
After a while, a girl with a fierce look and a strong smell of potent herbs arrived.
“You’re late, Jabir!”
“Haha, I was just in the middle of an exciting experiment.”

“Huh, it’s supposedly the Elixir… well, it’s probably fake anyway…”
As Jabir, who received the container, paused abruptly while holding it, Zaid thought to himself.
When, at the request of his elder brother Flattan, he had dabbled in the creation of the youth potion, Amrita, an experiment had gone wrong, resulting in a sudden transformation. 
The young genius who had previously possessed an enchanting and mature physique akin to my tastes had suddenly been reduced to a childlike appearance. 
Despite being younger than me, I never saw him grow since then. What a waste.
“Zaid-sama? Where did you get this?”
“I can’t say! So, is this the real deal?”

A faint magical light emanated from the small bottle. Jabir’s hand, holding the bottle, trembled slowly.
“J-Jabir?”
“I… I can’t believe it! This, without a doubt, it’s the Elixir! And a genuine one at that!”
“What…?”
“Zaid-sama! Where did you get this?! Was it from the labyrinth? Or…!?”
“Calm down, Jabir! As I said, I can’t give details! But we’ll find out everything the day after tomorrow!”
“Oh…! Oh!”
Jabir raised the bottle once, then immediately hugged it close. Her determination not to let go was palpable.
Zaid chuckled and instructed. 
“I’ll entrust this to you. Feel free to investigate, but under no circumstances should it become unusable, understood?”
“Yes! Leave it to me! And if I have the real thing! I’m sure even I could replicate it…!”
“Enough! Annoying! Anyway! I leave the investigation to you!”
“Everything, leave it to me!”
Zaid sighed deeply.
“Truly. You’re still obsessed with your research.”
“Hehehe… I don’t know where it came from, but with this, I will definitely… absolutely… alchemize it! I’ll create the first Elixir through alchemy ever seen by mankind!!!”
As she let out an eerie laughter, she remained unaware of the extraordinary being by the name of Craft.
