“The stuff is here, I—” She intended to say she wanted to go in and take a look, but the people inside the glass curtain were busy, and the little animals were either bowing their heads or lying on the ground. It didn’t seem like there was much to see by going in alone.

The young man in green watched Jiang Qiuqiu’s figure as she walked away, standing still for a long time.

“Why did you bring such a big box over? What’s inside?” A rough man in loose long sleeves walked up to the young man in green and reached out to help him with the load.

“Brother Leopard, you don’t need to help me, I can handle it.” He sidestepped and quickly walked to the office behind the rescue center.

The young man in green, also known as Xiao Qing, pressed the assembly bell, and soon, five or six employees working in the rescue center gathered there.

After all the lunch boxes were distributed, Xiao Qing sat at a table on the side, looking downcast. “How many lost consciousness today?”

“Two.”

“…”

“Just two.” Xiao Qing counted silently in his heart. “So, we only have eleven conscious ones left.”

“Yeah.” Brother Leopard smiled bitterly. “It always feels like the cage is the ultimate destination for us.”

“Born amidst envy, inheriting powerful genes, and finally… perishing in a cage.”

“Don’t say that!” Xiao Qing was angry and slapped Brother Leopard, “It won’t happen.”

“As long as we control it well, it’ll never happen.”
