That person looked at me and then broke into a wide smile.

“Hi!”

It was Irmin after all. I kept mixing them up.

Approaching with his usual friendliness, Irmin spoke to Hans,

“Is this the fiancé? It’s the first time we’re meeting since the engagement ceremony!”

“Why are all humans like this?”

Seemingly aware of my situation, Hans didn’t bother hiding his identity.

“At least knock before entering a lady’s room. What are you doing barging in like that?”

“Ah— sorry. I messed up the coordinates.”

I wasn’t sure if that was a lie or the truth. Irmin was proficient in magic, so it was likely a lie.

Hans frowned and said,

“Be more careful next time.”

“Your fiancé seems quite touchy.”

Irmin remarked, then seemed to remember something and smirked,

“Ah, but he’s not your fiancé anymore, is he?”

As expected, Hans’ expression soured.

The situation was going south. I signaled Irmin with my eyes.

“Did you come here to pick a fight?”

“Half and half? I was curious about the situation.”

“You’ve seen everything during the day. What’s there to be curious about?”

“No, I mean the current situation.”

He meant the current situation with Hans and me.

Irmin, unfazed by Hans’ cold glare, continued,

“I thought you might have fought. But you seem quite chummy. Doesn’t it bother you that your lover is engaged to another man?”

He really came here to stir things up.

Hans’ eyes turned icy.

“What do you want?”

“Don’t be scared.”

Contrary to his words, Irmin was grinning.

“I was just curious about who Anais chose. I also wanted to see how you’d handle this situation.”

He was being incredibly sly. It was a wonder how he could be so brazen in front of a non-human entity.

‘I was too, but…’

At least I didn’t pick fights like Irmin. His audacity was striking.

“By the way, he is quite under pressure.”

“Someone might think he’s the fiancé.”

“Exactly.”

Irmin responded to my muttering,

“If a non-fiancé acts like that, I wonder how the real fiancé will react.”

He was obviously saying this for Hans to hear.

Hans threw the book he was holding. It hit the wall right next to Irmin.

After the book fell, Hans asked with a fierce expression,

“What do you want?”

“Haha.”

Irmin didn’t seem intimidated at all, still smiling as usual. I was the only one caught in the middle, trying to gauge the mood of both.

“Let me be frank. I have no intention of giving up the position of Crown Prince.”

Why did he provoke so much just to say that? More surprisingly, Irmin was interested in the position of Crown Prince. It’s not an easy title to give up.

“So, you were hoping the fiancé here would intervene. Seems like that failed.”

“How am I supposed to stop her.”

“Well, it’s Anais, after all.”

For the first time, their opinions aligned.

Irmin’s provocations must have been his own way of expressing displeasure. It was bewildering how complex a person could be.

Irmin looked at me.

“Anais, you’re on my side, right?”

I scratched my head before answering,

“Ah… honestly, I don’t want to be involved. It’s too bothersome.”

“Overly honest.”

I just wished the brothers would settle it themselves. Perhaps play rock-paper-scissors. Why drag me into their conflict? It was annoying.

“But if I had to choose.”

I threw out a line,

“I’m on Kabir’s side.”

Irmin or Jamon, neither was particularly important to me.

But if Kabir was involved, it was a different story. Kabir was a valuable friend to me, and since he was friends with Irmin,

If I had to choose, it would be Irmin’s side.

Irmin smiled leisurely, as if he expected the answer.

That must have been Irmin’s real intention in coming here.

“What do you expect me to do?”

“Stop Jamon.”

Irmin answered promptly as if he had been waiting.

“I don’t want things to go bad with Jamon. I’ll protect the Erpeso family, and you protect Jamon.”

An unusual request.

And not a bad proposition, considering I got engaged to Jamon to protect the Erpeso family.

But protect Jamon? I wasn’t sure what he meant.

Hans tossed a comment at Irmin,

“Seems like you were quite close as brothers.”

“It’s my one-sided love affair.”

Apparently, Irmin cared quite a bit about Jamon. Jamon, on the other hand, greatly disliked Irmin.

“If you hadn’t pushed all your responsibilities onto your brother, none of this would have happened.”

“Haha.”

Irmin laughed off Hans’ sharp remark.

In a way, Jamon was pitiable. Always overshadowed by his talented brother, despite his own strenuous efforts.

“But how can I protect him?”

“You already know how, don’t you?”

Irmin met my gaze.

“Do it like you did for Kabir.”

“…Like I did for Kabir?”

“Yeah. Just being there for him will be helpful.”

How exactly could my mere presence be helpful?

Yet, recalling what Kabir had said, it didn’t seem entirely wrong.

‘Why is that? The time I spent with you is really just a fraction of my life.’

‘Why did you leave behind only warmth and then go away?’

He said that, pondering what warmth I had left behind and whether I could offer it to Jamon as well.

While I was contemplating, Hans spoke up from beside me,

“You’ll do well, I think.”

His tone was matter-of-fact.

“You trust me?”

“In this regard, yes.”

“You believe I, being as unemotional as I am, can manage this?”

“Yes.”

Hans’ response was nothing but decisive.

Then, he looked at me and smiled.

“You can definitely do it.”

If Hans says so.

Anyway, I didn’t want to continue my engagement with Jamon either. So I had no choice but to accept Irmin’s proposition.

After Irmin left, I checked the chat window, which I hadn’t had time to look at while dealing with the situation.

‘How much is all this?’

In that short while, the points had accumulated tremendously. It seemed the recent events were very satisfying for them.

Angels might enjoy dramatic elements, but I no longer wanted to be entangled in them.

“I’m tired of engagements.”

“Right, other people get engaged once, you’re on your third.”

“You don’t need to point that out.”

But the official engagement ceremony was only held with Hans.

However, there was another reason why I couldn’t go through with any more engagements.

“If the same topic keeps coming up, viewers will get bored.”

“Is that the problem?”

It was a significant issue, especially since I had decided to restart broadcasting.

Anyway, tomorrow marked the start of my endeavor with Jamon.

* * *

‘It won’t be much different from when I stayed at the Duke’s mansion, will it?’

Currently, Kabir was quite friendly to me, but at first, he was very indifferent and cold, just like Jamon.

Both seemed to have similar personalities, so maybe I could just act the same way I did back then?

I just needed to visit and try to become friends. I turned on the broadcast and cheerfully set out.

‘Today, again, no sign of Ian.’

I checked the viewer list, but Ian still hadn’t joined.

Was he trying to avoid the situation? It left me feeling uneasy.

After wandering aimlessly, the viewers threw some advice my way.

[Gold2: He must be in his office at this time.]

[LLoading: Ask the maids!!]

Apparently, they were getting frustrated watching me move without a plan.

Eventually, after asking around, I arrived at the office.

Fortunately, I found Jamon just as he was leaving his office.

“Your Highness.”

I called out to Jamon with a sense of relief. He turned his head to look at me.

“What brings you here?”

“I came to see you, Your Highness. I am your fiancée, after all.”

I emphasized the word “fiancée” in my response.

Hearing this, Jamon sighed.

“Lady Erpeso.”

“Yes?”

“When it’s just the two of us, please refrain from speaking to me unless necessary. And I’ve thought this before, but your behavior is too frivolous. As the fiancée of the prince, you should maintain a demeanor befitting your position.”

I decided to retract my earlier thoughts. Jamon was much more tiresome and annoying than Kabir.

At least Kabir had a playful, human side to him. Jamon was just like a robot.

I hadn’t expected such an ironclad barrier. He was the one who proposed the engagement, yet he was keeping his distance.

I didn’t give up and spoke with a smile.

“But we’ll be seeing each other often in the future. Wouldn’t it be better if we got along?”

“Lady, let me be frank.”

Jamon stepped forward, stopping right in front of me. His eyes, the same color as Irmin’s, felt much colder.

With a firm voice, he said,

“I don’t like you. Not one bit.”

Is it common to be so blunt face to face? His boldness left me speechless.

“So, please do not pretend to know me in private. Even talking to you puts me in a bad mood.”

Jamon clearly disliked me, though the exact reason was unclear.

Neither Kabir nor Bates (Hans pretending) had ever shown such aversion to me. It was the first time someone had outright told me they disliked me.

Jamon turned and walked down the corridor mercilessly.

I watched his retreating figure and, once again, raised my middle finger.

‘May you trip and fall on your way.’

I muttered a timid curse under my breath.
