Chapter 369.1. Aguni Masatoshi’s Revelation

-Masatoshi’s POV-
The scene rewinds to the beginning of the battle.
Explosions, flashes of light, flames, and smoke filled the air. Mechanized dolls, insect-like monsters, and battleship-shaped bugs were crashing down. The sky had turned into a hellish battlefield between humans and demonic creatures.
“What the heck is going on? Hey, someone tell me what’s happening! Whoa!”
Transforming the [Crimson Lotus Crystal] into a sword of flames, Aguni Masatoshi cut down the approaching Yggdrasil Mothman, his face tense with confusion. He turned to the Yamiyo and asked but her face was just confused.
Shin’s face and Heroine-chan’s Kanna Tsuki have become enemies, right? And what’s the deal with that flying island?
Yamiyo used the jet-black sword Shin Yaten – Battle Model Mark Two gracefully moving across the battleship’s deck, slicing through Yggdrasil Mothman.
Gray-haired-chan had also modified everyone’s weapons.
She effortlessly dodged the spear-like mouthparts, and redirected the trajectory of a released fire magic with her sword, closing the distance instantly to strike them down.
The elegant and charming black-haired samurai girl seemed unfazed by the swarming bugs.
Upon hearing Masatoshi’s voice, she glanced back, her eyes shifting from coldness to a faint smile.
“Don’t mess with Mi-sama, saying you’re the only male comrades of the same age. In that case, my hand might slip.”
With a sharp sound, Yggdrasil Mothman approaching from behind Yamiyo split into dozens of pieces and fell. It was clear that Yamiyo’s shadow had torn them apart from the flow of mana, demonstrating incredible power and skill.
“No way. I have Sena-san and Mion with me! I wouldn’t lay a hand on any other woman! I’d get killed!”
Recently, Masatoshi had begun to realize Sena-san’s severity on an instinctual level.
“Masatoshi-san, that’s terrible! I might die or be helpless if you don’t protect me.”
In a delicate voice, Sena-san answered while grabbing the mouthparts of Yggdrasil Mossman, pulling it in, and piercing its body with her fist.
“Ah, I know Sena-san is delicate… I know…”
Watching Sena-san, who broke through the wind barrier like a seasoned monk, smashing enemies with explosive punches and tearing them apart with sword-like kicks, Masatoshi stammered. However, he quickly opened his eyes wide and continued his speech.
“Protecting the delicate Sena-san whom I love is my duty. I understand!”
With warm emotions in his eyes, I answered while looking up at the sky.
People might call it escapism, but Masatoshi chose to ignore the existence of the berserker Sena.
“Oh, don’t say you love me so straightforwardly! Stop it!”
Responding to My direct love confession, Sena-san blushed, covering her reddened cheeks with her hands after stunning Yggdrasil Mothman with a headbutt and grabbing its torso. She transformed it into a mass of flesh.
“Yamiyo-chan, since Masatoshi-san confessed his love after seeing Sena-chan’s figure, it seems he’s not an enemy. It’s okay.”
“Yeah, let’s remove the enemy designation for now.”
Tamamo, the fox-girl, spoke while tearing Yggdrasil Mothman apart with a storm of leaves. Yamiyo, even with her composed demeanor, nodded slightly at Masatoshi’s blind devoted love.
“Sena-san has soft hands, is lovely, and is an endlessly charming beauty that never gets boring. Admiring…”
“Wait a minute, Masatoshi-san! Even I get embarrassed in front of a large crowd. Please stop!”
Throwing the Yggdrasil Mothman, whose head had been crushed by a stomp, at Masatoshi, Sena-san covered her blushing cheeks with her hands, displaying her delicate and weak figure, seemingly able to defeat only moths with her frail body.
“I’m sorry, Sena-san. Uh, not that. Can someone explain the situation?”
“I don’t know. Helping Mii-sama in times of trouble is what best friends do.”
“I don’t know either? Even without asking for reasons, I’ll help. Nisshisshi.”
Masatoshi tried to bring the conversation back to assess the current situation, but Yamiyo and Tamamo exchanged glances and spoke decisively.
Although he sighed at their words, Masatoshi couldn’t be angry. Indeed, if Sena-san and Mion were in dire straits, he would help without asking for reasons.
“Well, should we ask those warriors… or maybe that maid?”
They turned their faces towards the nine warriors who possessed a power that even the head of the 36 families would pale in comparison to.
“Chichi?”
“No, you can’t talk, can you?”
The ant, who had been taking all the attacks everyone received with magic power since earlier, pointed a finger at itself and tilted its head, but it couldn’t speak.
Ignoring the disheartened grasshopper, who readied his shield again, I turned to the maid.
The blue-haired maid scattered small droplets around, instantly freezing any enemy she touched. She turned to Victory with a faint smile upon hearing his voice.
“This is the final battle between the evil god seeking to dominate the world and the hero, Takano Miu. I’m in the position of a magician.”
“Suspicious… What’s this about a hero? There’s no such profession in the Night of Magic”
She became half-witted, but she probably had no intention of answering any further.
“Darn it. What the heck is going on? And that guy too. Both allies and enemies have terrifying power.”
Deploying [Prism Crimson], I clicked my tongue while blocking the enemy’s fiery beam. Apparently, there were things even a god like him didn’t know.
The bugs had strength on a level never seen before. They were currently defeating them effortlessly with support magic, but without it, they would have struggled to defeat even one.
However, even if I didn’t fully understand the situation, I somehow sensed what was happening. It wasn’t for nothing that I hadn’t watched novels or anime. I have seen many situations like this.
Though I didn’t quite grasp it, it seemed like a crisis for the world. That’s why I wasn’t hesitant to help. I struggled to understand why the bugs with Shin’s face and why Heroine Kanna Tsuki-chan had turned into enemies.
And why had Heroine Kanna Tsuki-chan, who used to be a sweet girl, become like this? Even though I didn’t fully comprehend, my past experiences gave me a faint understanding of the situation.
“Warships are charging! And there are multiple!”
“God Wind Special Attack Squadron? They won’t stop!”
At the anxious voices of Yamiyo and Tamamo, Masatoshi looked up at the sky to see about twenty battleship-type bugs charging at them.
The large warships had been sunk, but it seemed the smaller ones had slipped through. Despite being called small, they were battleships ranging from 50 to 100 meters, and their approaching figures sent shivers down Victory’s spine.
