Alice looked at the defeated man, he couldn't stand, much less fight again. She felt a great sense of relief after defeating him, all the adrenaline she was feeling while battling rushed to her core as her body started to show signs of improving. This was what she wanted, defeat the man and grow to the Peak, and this was what was happening.
The man looked at Alice's face which was visible now. This was the first person who had defeated him in such a manner since he had been alive and had gotten to the Peak of the Venerable Plane.
"Come on, do it." He said between breaths.
Alice looked at the man and didn't say anything, he slowly rose up, and just as she was about to leave, she said…
"If I kill you, it will be repaying you with evil. You defeated me the first time and let me go, why should I kill you now?"
The man thought about what she said and to be honest, she was right. He had gotten the chance to kill a lot of geniuses, but in most cases, he always lets them go once he has defeated them, and has always tried his best not to kill any of them. Yes, in a few cases some of them have died, but it was either due to their incompetence, or their unwillingness to retreat even after they've been given the chance to leave.
He laid on the ground, breathing heavily as he looked at Alice's departing figure from the sky, he closed his eyes and passed out. The battle took more than he thought it would, which was a little unexpected. But he didn't care, he was a little satisfied, at least he got to keep his life.
Alice left the place and headed over to the cave she retreated to the first time she fought with the man. She needed to use this momentum to get to the Peak, and she knew she would be able to succeed as long as she wasn't disturbed.
A few hours later, a pleased laughter rang from within the cave.
Alice stepped out of the cave with a pleased smile on her face, she had gotten to the Peak of the Venerable Plane, her next target, the Sovereign Plane. She didn't have any fears that she wouldn't be able to break through to the Sovereign Plane. Even Klaus was successful, what could stop her?
….
While Alice and Reynolds were on the journey to get to the Sovereign Plane, Grey and Klaus had been having a good time, escorting Kyle on his journey as well.
At the moment, Grey was staring at the shelf with disbelief in his eyes.
When Klaus saw Grey's reaction, he hurriedly asked, "What's up?"
"Gnomes." Grey said through gritted teeth.
"Yeah, what about them?" Klaus didn't understand what Grey was talking about.
"This array was placed by Gnomes. All I need is some time, I will always remember how their arrays are." Grey looked at the chubby man, his eyes gave a cold glint.
When Klaus and Kyle heard Grey's words, they looked at the man. This wasn't Kyle's first time here, and he knew a thing or two about this man. It's said that he hailed from a prestigious Family on another Continent, he didn't know the Continent, but the man was well respected.
"Are you sure about this?" Kyle asked.
"I can never mistake their arrays for another. It was made by Gnomes." Grey was confident his memory was accurate.
"Wha… what are you saying? Gnomes? How would Gnomes build an array in my house?" The man stuttered but asked, his expression showing anger from Grey's accusations.
"Don't worry, after I get it open, I'll make sure one of them turns you into a living puppet. They should've created a technique like that by now." Grey said with coldness in his eyes.
The man shivered when he heard this, sensing the killing intent radiating from Grey's body, he didn't know what to do.
"There can't be an array made by Gnomes in my house." The man still didn't believe Grey's words.
"You would've been better if someone else caught you. Unfortunate you, you just had to run into me, one of the people who hates the Gnomes a lot." Grey chuckled.
"He's not lying, he hates them a lot. They've tried to kill him too many times." Klaus added, as if to confirm Grey's words.
"For your sake, I hope you're not aware of this." Grey's words were icy cold, but his next words made the man almost freeze from fear, "Unfortunately, you know fully well this is here. In fact, you helped hide it."
"What are you saying?!" The man yelled, "Do you know the severity of the crime with associating myself with Gnomes?"
"I don't, but you will find out soon." Grey said.
"You're Grey Dawson!" The man exclaimed.
There was only one person the Gnomes are actively trying to kill, and given the situation the person would be in, it's only natural that this person would hate them to the core.
If this is truly Grey Dawson, he is doomed. Even if he has no idea how that thing appeared there, he would still be executed. He had heard a few things about Grey Dawson, well, not a few things, he had heard a lot about him, and he knew that he was a ruthless figure.
Someone capable of killing the son of one of the Grand Elders in the Pyrmond Faction is capable of doing anything, especially when he has the advantage.
Grey looked at the man and said, "I wonder if there's a way to pry into the memories of people."
The man felt his body shake when he heard this. Doing something like this should be regarded as a taboo.
"A shame, anyways, I have ways to make you talk, you'd wish you were dead." Grey smiled at the man.
The man looked at the trio in the room, his figure shaking vigorously.
