**Episode 028: Rokudo’s Magic Power**

“Well then, be careful and come back.”

“Yeah, I got it.”

“See you.”

The next morning, after a good rest, we bid farewell as each of us prepared to do what needed to be done.

“Ni!!”

Floating softly as they said their goodbyes, Enjyu appealed to me as well.

“Yeah, yeah, come back safely too.”

“Ni!”

As I patted her head, she happily relaxed her cheeks and raised her front paw in response.

Having said our goodbyes, they went off to level up.

Come to think of it, I was asked by the Yukki sisters if I brought supplies with LINGU, but I casually pretended not to know.

It’s not like it was an act of goodwill. I just didn’t want to lose sight of those fantastic, tight-fitting suits the two wore. If there’s even a slight chance of reducing that possibility, it’s worth it. I intend to continue doing this periodically.

Although Kana boldly asked for more supplies, saying there are quite a few refugees, I couldn’t help but laugh. I told her it’s pointless to tell me.

“Now, I’ll start the verification on my own.”

After seeing off Satoshi and the others, I decided to test my abilities in the backyard.

I opened the status.

Six windows appeared in front of me.

I checked the integrated status.

Looking at it this way, it was clear that I hadn’t utilized my skills at all. Today, I wanted to grasp the power of magic, focusing on it for future use.

Regarding elemental magic, I could currently use Fireball,  Water, Thunder, Wind Cutter, Ice Needle, Stone Bullet, Light, and Dark—a total of eight types.

For holy magic, I had Healing, Life Translocation, and Purification—three types.

Enchanting magic included Attack Up, Defense Up, Speed Up, and Magic Up—four types.

In total, there were fifteen types.

I could imagine to some extent based on the names, but I wouldn’t know the actual power or effect until I tried them out. For now, I’ll start with elemental magic.

First, Fireball… Let’s not use it since it’s a forest around. Let’s try Water.

“Water!!”

—Goooooooosh!

As I chanted the magic name, water gushed out from my palm like a firetruck’s water cannon, but the amount was extraordinary.

A straight line of water, about sixty centimeters in diameter, was drawn, and the water that gushed out with tremendous force hit a tree. The struck tree made a creaking sound as it broke, and the water continued, knocking down trees for about twenty meters.

“The power is crazy…”

Even though it was the first magic I remembered, the power was unimaginable.

“What will happen if I use other magic?”

Feeling somewhat intimidated by the power of Water, I decided to try using it.

“Oh no!! It’s going to cause a forest fire!!”

With Fire, it seemed like the forest was about to catch fire.

“Everything’s turning pitch black!”

With Thunder, trees in a radius of about ten meters turned completely black.

“The whole mountain looks like it’s going to be bald!”

With Wind Cutter, trees within a radius of about ten meters were felled.

“Is this an icy mountain of swords?”

Ice Needle created a hellish mountain of ice swords.

“It’s full of holes!”

Stone Bullet turned each gravel into boulder-sized projectiles, riddling the trees with holes.

“My eyes! My eyes!”

Light conjured a giant ball of light that shone like the sun, burning my eyes.

“I can’t see anything.”

Dark produced a mist-like substance, completely obscuring my vision.

“For now, I’ve realized that when the statuses of the six skills are combined, the magic power becomes dangerously intense…”

I muttered to myself while looking at the devastating scene before me. Part of the forest had been torn apart.

After that, when it came to elemental magic, I felt something draining from my body as I used the magic, and by controlling it, I succeeded in reducing the power.

I also thought about increasing the amount poured in to raise the power, but since further damage would be disastrous, I decided not to think about it.

“As for holy magic, except for Purification, I’ve used the others, and I mostly understand their effects. Plus, it seems there’s no current situation to use them, so let’s exclude them for now.”

I excluded holy magic and moved on to the verification of enchanting magic.

At Rank 1, the magic that could be used mainly consisted of basic buffing spells.

“Let’s start with Speed Up.”

Attack Up would be hard to gauge since there were only trees as targets. There was no one to attack for Defense Up. Honestly, I think it’s not a good idea for Magic Up to further damage the area with magic. I’ll do it later, though.

“Speed Up.”

I targeted myself and used Speed Up.

“Oh. I feel incredibly light.”

I immediately tried moving.

“Whoaahhhh!”

Unaware of the difference from usual, I moved too quickly, and at an incredible speed, I stumbled and dived headfirst into the ground.

Since there was no change in the status, the increase rate was unknown, but there was certainly some change that I could perceive.

“Controlling this is going to be a struggle…”

I sighed, brushing off the dust on my body.

Afterward, I verified that the duration of Speed Up was around ten minutes.

Then, as a precaution, I attacked trees with Attack Up, jumped off the roof of a house with Defense Up, and continued to verify the increase in power with Magic Up by using magic with reduced intensity.

“Oh…”

However, by the time I realized it, it was too late.

Lost in my investigations, my vision warped, and before I knew it, I couldn’t stand upright and collapsed right there.
