Volume 1 Chapter 32: Café
The dormitory is usually the loudest when the roommates are playing games together.
Regardless of their usual demeanor, whether they are usually polite and never swear or introverted and silent, everyone would curse and say some really explicit things during gaming.
Zhang Shaoqing had the lowest quality of speech, and Wang Jie, who was usually a shut-in, became quite talkative when playing games. Even Wen Yang, who rarely swore, would occasionally use some rough language.
Only Ning Chu remained silent, staring blankly at his black and white screen, unable to say anything, feeling out of place.
After two hours, the friendship boat had completely capsized.
“Damn it! I’m done!” Zhang Shaoqing threw his mouse, “We played for two hours and didn’t win a single game. Whose fault is it?”
“Done playing? Then I’ll take a nap.” Wang Jie stretched lazily and turned off his computer screen, yawning as he stood up, “Let’s play again next time.”
Wen Yang looked at the time, it was only one o’clock in the afternoon, and suddenly he became more active in his thoughts.
But just as he was thinking about something not so good, his gaze subconsciously turned to Ning Chu.
Surely he couldn’t find an excuse to keep him in the dormitory and not go out?
He really didn’t understand why Ning Chu was doing this.
Ning Chu was tired too. As a novice, playing games with his roommates was not enjoyable at all. He slumped onto the table, his eyelids were already fighting each other.
He had hoped to play all afternoon and keep Wen Yang in the dormitory.
He rubbed his eyes, feeling a bit drowsy, but he still remembered his mission: to keep Wen Yang’s virginity intact!
“Wen Yang, are you taking a nap?”
As long as Wen Yang took a nap, this dangerous afternoon would be over!
“I’m going out.” Wen Yang refused, “You rest, I’m going to the café off-campus. The owner invited me to taste some new products on weekends, but I never had time.”
Taste new products? Are you sure you are not tasting the owner instead?
This plotline wasn’t in the book, but Ning Chu still wasn’t reassured. Wen Yang’s hentai protagonist’s aura was too strong, and most girls were attracted to him. Even if it wasn’t part of the plot, there was still a chance he might give in.
“It’s raining so heavily…”
“Just bring an umbrella.”
“Well, can I come too? I also like coffee.”
Ning Chu couldn’t find any other reasons, so he had to change his plan.
Wen Yang didn’t mind. He nodded and bent down to put on his shoes, preparing to leave.
“Stick to me, huh? You two might as well be conjoined twins.” Zhang Shaoqing continued his annoying teasing.
“You talk too much!”
Ning Chu suddenly kicked Zhang Shaoqing’s chair and quickly followed Wen Yang out of the dormitory, cursing as he went.
The rain outside was pouring down, and flashes of lightning could be seen in the dark clouds from time to time.
“This rain is too heavy… We’ll get wet even with an umbrella.” Ning Chu frowned at the rain curtain, “Should we really go now?”
“Always acting like a pigeon isn’t great, but I don’t have much to do this afternoon anyway.”
Wen Yang took the umbrella and walked into the rain, continuing, “It’s fine, it’s pretty close by. There are several new types of coffee and snacks. After we come back, you probably won’t be able to take a nap.”
Does this guy really think he’s just going to taste new products?
Ning Chu remained silent, quietly following alongside.
Actually, he wanted to verify a conjecture: aside from the female characters in the plot who have a comrade relationship with Wen Yang, would other girls not mentioned in the book make moves like offering themselves, seduction, or reverse pursuit because of Wen Yang’s protagonist aura?
The shy girl who brought sour plum soup in the morning, the lady boss at the Café, they both belonged to characters never mentioned in the book.
In the pouring rain, water inevitably seeped under the umbrella.
Wen Yang, with nothing else to do, kept shifting his gaze to Ning Chu, taking a few steps closer and starting a conversation, “What type of girl do you like?”
“Huh?” Ning Chu instinctively responded, “Good figure, pretty.”
“You don’t have any requirements for personality?”
Wen Yang’s words were as if he were saying Ning Chu was extremely shallow.
But Ning Chu was willing to be shallow like this. Just as he was about to nod vigorously, he suddenly realized he couldn’t convey the wrong values to Wen Yang.
So after pondering for a moment, he attempted to brainwash him, “Of course, I have requirements for personality. If I were to really date a girl, it would definitely be with the intention of getting married.”
“Being virtuous and gentle goes without saying. The important thing is definitely loyalty! Both she and I are the same, not fooling around, not casually dating, not cheating…”
He observed Wen Yang’s expression, afraid that his words might provoke a negative reaction.
Wen Yang nodded in agreement, “Makes sense.”
Hmm, you might not think so once you’ve tasted how delicious girls are.
Ning Chu silently criticized his male lead, but fortunately, the current Wen Yang was still a virgin, timid and shy, yet always holding a little hope for pure romantic love between two people.
As for the chance of having a pure romantic love story in a hentai world… Well, it’s better not to have any expectations.
“The rain is getting heavier.”
“Yeah, I’m all wet…”
Wen Yang glanced at Ning Chu, whose half-body was soaked by the rain, and handed over his umbrella, “Switch with me, mine is bigger.”
“Huh? But what about you?” Ning Chu was startled by his sudden gentleness.
“I’m fine, getting a little wet won’t hurt me.”
“Don’t…”
Ning Chu’s mouth twitched, his eyes immediately becoming wary as he looked at Wen Yang with suspicion.
Could it be that he’s been too good to Wen Yang, and Wen Yang can’t wait for the plot to develop until he turns into a girl?
“I’m fine too.” He quickly shook his head, simultaneously creating some distance between himself and Wen Yang, looking as cautious as a wild cat that had seen a can of food.
Having his good intention rejected, Wen Yang looked at Ning Chu’s flickering eyes, then lowered his gaze to his chest. “But you got wet in the rain, it’s quite noticeable.”
“…”
The short-sleeved shirt had a flamboyant pattern on the chest, effectively covering up any prominent features.
But with a bit of rain soaking the clothes, the camouflage effect of the pattern was diminished.
“Just a bit of a chill from getting wet in the rain,” Ning Chu stubbornly explained.
Subconsciously, he crossed his arms to block Wen Yang’s gaze from the side and casually rested the umbrella on his forearm.
“Isn’t it because of you going out in heavy rain?”
“I didn’t ask you to…”
Internally, embarrassment and awkwardness overwhelmed him. His face flushed red, deliberately slowing his pace to fall behind Wen Yang by a step.
Fortunately, as they walked out of the school gate, the facade of the Café appeared within sight, located across the street.
From afar, looking through the glass into the shop, Ning Chu could vaguely see a figure wearing a black and white maid outfit.
Wow, a maid café! No wonder Wen Yang came out in the rain for this!
Too bad it’s not a catgirl! It lacks a bit of flavor.
