Behind the boy was the captain’s room of Leibert. Numerous floating virtual screens reflected the whole picture in a luminous blue.

His body was small and thin, almost like a child curled up in a much bigger than him wide captain’s chair, but no one dared to regard him as a harmless child.

Obviously, the other party was most likely one of the participants in this incident and could even be the leader as he actually chose this kind of place to shoot this video. This kind of bright demonstration and ridicule was like a slap in the Alliance’s face.

——The faces of all the officers present did not look too well.

The young man smiled and waved his hand at the camera:

”It’s our first meeting, please take care of me, I am the captain of Leibert…”

He paused, as if thinking of something and patted his forehead in annoyance: ” Oops, I’m sorry, I forgot to say I changed its name this morning!”

The picture suddenly changed, cutting to the outer vision of Leibert.

Under the light of stars not far away, the metal frame of the Leibert once known as the Star of Alliance was plated with a layer of golden light and the majestic ship’s name painted with silver ore extract on the exterior walls was crooked. The original name was crossed out and underneath it was written in an unrestrained scribble:

  Leviathan.

A few unruly large characters were written in a bright red paint. They were messy as if they were made by a child. They appeared abrupt and ridiculous on the steel starship with perfectly coordinated proportions and smooth lines.

The video cut back to the captain’s room.

The boy that was so thin you could see his bones still had a heartless smile on his face:

”From today, Leviathan will not bother you. Of course, if you reminiscence about old feelings, you can pay for military service. As for the maintenance fee, of course I will not refuse, so please bring enough star coins when we meet next time!”

  Then, the video ended.

The video was short, but all the officers in front of the screen had twisted expressions.

  This was simply a shame!

The opponent not only stole Alliance’s warship, changed the name of the ship without authorization, scribbled on the ship with permanent coating carried by a drone, but even arrogantly provoked them. This was not only an insult to the Alliance’s laws, but also a sign of contempt for the authority of the Alliance!

A young general stood up angrily and paid a standard Alliance military salute to the general who was sitting in the first place, with anger flashing in his eyes: “Please allow this subordinate to lead a warship to track the whereabouts of Leibert! This subordinate must make this arrogant fugitive pay price for his actions and win for the glory of the alliance!”

The general looked at the scene fixed not far away and then slowly shook his head:

”Don’t be impulsive, this will not be easy.”

Everyone’s eyes focused on the general in the centre of the round table as they quietly waited for his next words.

”Before Leibert was hijacked, its protective shield did not have any traces of being touched nor did anyone in the crew send a distress message. If the ship wasn’t infiltrated from the inside it’s possible that the other party was strong enough to develop a light energy shield beyond the Leibert’s weapons capability and it was strong enough to intercept the signal wave within at least four light-years, otherwise this would not be the case.”

An officer was stunned and said: “Is it possible? It’s that…”

The general shook his head, his eyes deep: “It’s hard to tell, but this possibility cannot be ruled out.”

After speaking, he smiled coldly: “However, I am not without a backup plan.”

General tapped a few times on the virtual screen in front of him and activated a soft mechanical female voice that said: “Emergency mode is activated, and Leibert alternate positioning system is forcibly activated – starting… Starting is completed.”

As the female voice fell, a bright spot of light suddenly lit up on the light blue galaxy map floating above the round table, the spot moved at a constant speed away from the alliance control area.

  Everyone was surprised:

  ”This is…”

General slowly narrowed his eyes: “Due to the increasingly severe situation in recent months I ordered all retired warships to be equipped with an emergency-activated standby positioning systems to prevent the alliance’s enemies from attempting to snatch. I just didn’t expect it would come in handy so soon.”

The other officers at the round table all showed admiration.

The light spot on the galaxy map slowly moved towards a meteoroid area on the edge of the alliance’s control zone. There were only two or three desolate and abandoned planets around, it seemed that the fugitives wanted to break away from the Alliance’s control.

”Send three main starships and twenty light warships to pursue Leibert!”

Regardless of whether there was someone behind this incident they will let them know what the price of angering Alliance is!

  At the same time.

Outside the surveillance range of the Alliance video information leaked from the Alliance army and appeared in a dark warship that was quietly stationed outside the occupied area.

There were no stars in this area and it was shrouded in icy darkness.

This warship was very large, almost twice the size of Leibert. The black steel layer on the outside was indestructible. Outline of the ship was succinct and concise. There was a strongest interstellar weapon showing back muzzle over the outer protective layer. It looked like a sleeping beast, showing extremely deterrent fangs in the dark.

On the top of the warship, wrapped in heavy protective covers, inside the outer anti-aircraft glass layer of the starship was the cold and wide captain’s room.

There was a huge virtual screen that was as big as the whole wall.

In the light blue data network, the young man’s sly smiling face froze and paused on the screen, then the video was dragged back to the beginning and played again.

In the captain’s room engulfed by darkness the blue light from the electronic screen outlined the figure of a man not far away.

He stood in front of the screen with his hands behind his back. His broad shoulders, straight legs and extremely tall stature gave off a heavy sense of oppression.

There was a terrifying aura on his body. The cold killing intent that seemed to seep out of his bones was suppressed and controlled by extremely powerful restraint, but there was still this kind of power that made people tremble from depths of the soul.

In the darkness a low and hoarse chuckle sounded:

  ”Interesting.”

  ——-

In the former Leibert, now in the captain’s room of Leviathan, Ge Xiu sat on the captain’s chair and swayed two slender and thin legs.

A huge virtual galaxy map was floating on the table, with countless complex orbits and icons intertwined, like a patchwork of blue galaxies.

He stared at the star map in front of him intently, as if looking at something unknown and far away through the image in front of him.

The galaxy was shrunk and reflected in his eyes, like blue waves on the surface of a dark lake.

Xiao Yi peered several times at the door, but hesitated to move forward.

Ge Xiu raised his eyes suddenly, his gaze broke through the air like a tangible arrow and shot straight at the Xiao Yi who was still standing at the door.

He raised his eyebrows and made a questioning voice: “Huh?”

Xiao Yo seemed to suddenly wake up from a dream and he run into the captain’s room in panic.

The experience during this time was indeed like a dream to him. A thrilling dream like a combination of some unrealistic delusion and bizarre fantasy.

Xiao Yi’s still felt as if it was all his imagination.

He was afraid that he would wake up in the next second and when he opened his eyes he would find himself lying at the bottom of the tattered garbage shed, watching dirty sky of the planet in places not obstructed by peak of the trash mountain, surrounded by stench.

He took a deep breath nervously and began to report the status of the ship:

”As of now, only eight cargo ships on the Leibert have returned and the rest are still performing the task of collecting its load. The number of people in the cargo ship we took in was 3,200 people…”

Ge Xiu cast his eyes down carelessly, his gaze rested on the galaxy map model floating in front of him, his fingertips lightly and regularly tapped on the cold metal table.

Xiao Yi looked at Ge Xiu somewhat fearfully, his voice subconsciously diminished:

  ”…Only forty-two people stayed.”

After taking over Leibert starship completely, he explained the current situation to the kidnapped people according to Ge Xiu’s orders and informed them of two options that were now available. If they wanted to they could stay on Leviathan, which has been renamed, and fight with them two against the pursuit of the entire alliance. If they don’t want to, it didn’t matter. They could take the cargo ship and come back to their original planet, cargo ship and materials on the cargo ship didn’t have to be returned.

The pros and cons of these two options were obvious and normal people made reasonable judgments.

Therefore, most people choose to return to their former planet. Although the environment was harsh and planet was barren they were safe for their entire lives and there was a whole cargo ship’s supplies as a compensation.

Only forty-two people were willing to stay.

Xiao Yi lowered his eyes in frustration, waiting for Ge Xiu’s response.

However, the expected anger did not come for a long time, so he secretly raised his eyes only to meet Ge Xiu’s black eyes.

  Xiao Yi was stunned.

Ge Xiu’s face was not displeased, on the contrary, his eyes were slightly narrowed, the corners of his lips were slightly hooked and his expression couldn’t hide his joy.

It is as if a successful architect was looking at his own drawings and a chessboard master was watching his masterpiece.

Xiao Yi raised his brows in confusion and couldn’t help asking:

”Xiao Qi, why did you want to tell them the real situation? If we haven’t told them maybe we would have more helpers. Our winning chances…”

Ge Xiu looked at the galaxy map in front of him again and said casually:

”What we need is the fewer people, the better.”

Xiao Yi blinked blankly, not understanding Ge Xiu’s meaning.

”The Leviathan is a retired warship. Even if it’s transformed into a cargo transfer station it can’t afford the material needs of three thousand people.”

”But, then… what about those cargo ships?” Xiao Yi was poor all his life and as a accustomed to the garbage star resident he couldn’t control his feeling of wanting free supplies.

”In the current situation, those cargo ships would only slow down our speed of action.” Ge Xiu yawned, his thin waist stretched out in the wide captain’s chair, like a cat stretching out by the fire. His hoarse voice seemed to have a deeper meaning: “And…they have other uses of their own.”

Xiao Yi nodded, not really understanding.

He saw Ge Xiu leap off the chair and walk towards the huge porthole. The bright galaxy outside the window painted side of his face with light blue brilliance, making his paper-thin malnourished body seem even smaller in comparison.

Ge Xiu stared out the window and asked unhurriedly:

”Before this time, each cargo ship had a quota of 200 people, but this time each ship’s quota has been doubled. In order to transport more slaves for labor, even retired military ship like Leibert reduced the amount of heavy artillery. Do you know why?”

Xiao Yi shook his head in daze.

Ge Xiu turned his head to look at him, the shining stars of Milky Way were reflected on his pitch-black irises.

He said meaningfully: “Of course, it’s because they needed more cannon fodders on the front line.”

As soon as his voice fell a huge bright red warning appeared on the galaxy chart floating on the table and the ear-piercing alarm sounded throughout the captain’s room:

”Alarm, alarm, there are multiple high-level energy sources approaching!”

Xiao Yi took a deep breath, a bit panicked and looked up at the huge galaxy map that has been dyed red, only to see that all around Leviathan in the area marked by AI dozens of bright red light spots suddenly lit up and they quickly moved in their direction. At this speed, they would have caught up with them in at most five hours!

Xiaoyi’s eyes widened in horror, his back was instantly soaked with cold sweat, his hands and feet were cold and trembling-

  what, what was going on?

He looked at Ge Xiu in panic, as if a drowning man saw a lonely driftwood in the waves, with helplessness.

Ge Xiu turned his head and looked out of the porthole again.

He stared at the dark universe indifferently, as if looking at some invisible existence through the galaxy and celestial bodies. The corners of his lips curled up slightly, as if…

this was exactly what he was looking forward to right now.

Xiao Yi shuddered with a bad premonition and felt a chill rise from his feet to quickly spread all over his body.

At this moment, Ge Xiu turned his head back. His eyes flashed with suppressed excitement and enthusiasm, as if a devil lurking in the abyss appeared suddenly in a flash of lightning, a kind of almost inhuman cold and deceptive gaze.

He licked his lips and whispered softly:

  ”War is coming.”
