The year is 2020. South Korea is reeling from a brutal economic meltdown—a “second IMF crisis.” In the cram school jungle of Noryangjin, former star stockbroker Jang Tae-san has hit rock bottom, now just another burnt-out civil service exam zombie.

Then disaster hits. While trying to save a child, Tae-san is struck by a car.
